The9 Posted 8 December, 2015 Share Posted 8 December, 2015 There is a difference between what you and I think are leaders then, get sleeves rolled up , encourage, boll0ck others, gee them up and grab the game by the scruff of the neck and your idea of players busting a gut and trying. Brett Ormerod busted a gut would you say he was a leader? You said they "looked at the ground and hid".
Give it to Ron Posted 8 December, 2015 Share Posted 8 December, 2015 You said they "looked at the ground and hid". Yep they did when the goals were going in and at kick off all just had heads down - what I would expect from when my team concedes is for them to draw ranks - rally the team - did Davis/Mane do that or did they just do as they do most weeks and try? I am not talking about triers....I have no doubt v Liverpool they did. What I am saying is that in the games I mentioned above there wasn't one player that I saw do what I would expect from leaders of the team. Against Leicester we were bombarded not one of our midfield put in a battling performance second half - against Liverpool our midfield just ran alongside - perhaps I am too old school and my dreams of Jimmy Case re-incarnation are too much to hope for. Saintsteve7 Posted 8 December, 2015 Share Posted 8 December, 2015 It will be a while until we spend £20mill+ on a player but we'll certainly be selling a few in the near future. Everyone who thinks we should of gone like for like once Morgan, Lallana and Shaw etc had gone can you name me one £25million + player that would of come to us instead of a champion league/champions league chasing club?! Brett Ormerod busted a gut would you say he was a leader? I wouldn't use the word " leader ", but he was a darn good foot soldier who always put in his shift (and a bit more) and DAJFU on many occasions. and IMHO..James Beattie wouldn't have been half the player he was - without Brett playing alongside him.
