DuncanRG Posted 10 December, 2015 Share Posted 10 December, 2015 Will this be the same as Morgan is definitely going to Arsenal stories from last season... Well, it doesn't say Wanyama is definitely going to Arsenal, so that's one difference!

You mean like when we didn't sell Morgan to Spurs last season and Victor to Spurs this season?

Shance Posted 11 December, 2015 Share Posted 11 December, 2015 If I knew for certain that we were going to get Imbula, i'd happily pack Wanyama's bags for him and drive him to London myself.
doddisalegend Posted 11 December, 2015 Share Posted 11 December, 2015 That mirror article sounds just like the Morgan articles from last season. Vic will be gone this summer, no doubt, but weather he goes to Arsenal is debatable. Soon as Wenger finds out how much money we want he will look else where imo. Lallana's Left Peg Posted 11 December, 2015 Share Posted 11 December, 2015 If I knew for certain that we were going to get Imbula, i'd happily pack Wanyama's bags for him and drive him to London myself. I haven't seen much of Imbula at all (and just online stuff last summer when we were linked with him) but one thing I really like that he can do is carry the ball forward in the middle of the park and drive past people. It opens up so much space and we really lack that in our team. However, I don't know what he is like off the ball and that is where Wanyama is really important for us. DT Posted 11 December, 2015 Share Posted 11 December, 2015 As I said a while back, he's playing like something like the Arsenal bid is in the background, IMHO. Kind of not getting into games or hard tackles.
Saint Charlie Posted 11 December, 2015 Share Posted 11 December, 2015 When he goes in the summer, how much do you reckon we will get for Wanyama? Similar to Clyne will only have one year left and we got a disappointingly low fee for Clyne IMO. Seeing as we bought for £12m, improved the player and he has shown he is good at PL level it would be rubbish to get less than £15m, especially as we seem to need (or want) to sell to buy and will obviously need a quality replacement if we want to at least stand still. We can't have it both ways though either we enforce players contracts to make them play another season knowing we won't get as much money as we would have a season earlier. Or we cash in while the player still has a good amount of contract for big bucks but then get upset a good player is leaving.

Wanyama? We'll get a bit more than we paid for him but probably not a lot, unless of course he strops his way through the rest of the season and becomes a distinct liability.. Unless there are more rules changes in the offing clubs are going to be scrambling for the few HG talents available and have very little non-HG space on their rosters. Goatboy Posted 11 December, 2015 Share Posted 11 December, 2015 Wanyama is not top 4 quality even if he thinks he is. I hope he goes though. And in his Xmas interview with VVD he said he wouldn't save a drowning dog if it meant he wasn't fined. Came across as a ***** He can't swim. Not really - there are countless player agents and brokers with vested interests alongside the players and managers and assorted hangers on and parasites. The papers really don't need to make stuff up, when all that is going on. These days there is a degree of clickbaitery, and some publications probably do engineer stories (hello the Daily Express) but pretty much all stories will have a source. The only issue on forums like this is when transfers don't happen then drips on here take that as proof that a story is made up by lying scumbag journalists. Anyone with half a brain can decode most transfer speculation but that nous can be a bit lacking on here.
