Form says Palace, good chance of a draw, but the Prem is so unpredictable we could just as easily win 4-0. No idea what sort of mindset our lot will be in, or theirs. I reckon we'll be stinging a bit though after some recent lame arse performances and should step up. Benching Wanyama would help.

We bought him because we're not short-sighted enough to think you can buy the finished article for what we paid for him and have a history of developing players and selling them at a big profit. As far as I'm concerned he's about as good as I was expecting, with the 2 month setback for injury factored in. Mane hadn't done much after 10 matches either.

I'm with you on this "9" - Clasie has more to offer than those writing him off after so few starts. I would argue that Mane showed the class skills to come quite early in his Saints career. I would like to see Juanmi given more minutes in favour of JWP if the latter is considered for an attacking role. Got a good feeling about a result today in South London.

If we play the same old 4-2-3-1 with the usual suspects we will lose again. We need to bench Wanyama, Pelle and Taduc and stop long balling it.

We need to change things and play 4-3-3 for me with pace and movement up front - and a solid midfield that find the front 3 with the through pass - and cover for the full backs when they go forwRd and add some width.

A front three of Juanmi on the left, Long down the middle, and Mane on the right.

A midfield of Romeu as the holding midfielder, sitting deep to protect the back 4, Davis on the left and Clasie on the right to press the opposition and support the front the three.

A back 4 of Bertrand, Fonte, Van Dijk and Cedric - with the full backs provide width on the overlap when attacking and Fonte and van Dijk taking it in turns to bring the ball out from the back to start attacks.

If this doesn't work we should switch to 4-3-1-2 and bring on Tadic for Juanmi to play in the hole behind two strikers - Mane and Long, maybe switching one for Pelle if all else fails.

Drop Tadic and Pelle? I swear some fans are on crack. [emoji38]

Mad, isn't it? I can kind of understand Pelle at times but we haven't got anyone to replace him with.

Tadic is the hilarious one seeing as he creates the majority of our open play chances and has been one of our best players the last couple of months.

Yeah but sometimes I think people expect too much from Pelle. What's he supposed to do if he's being isolated? His hold up play is usually very good and he works very hard imo.

Stek

Cedric - Fonte - VVD - Bertrand

Romeu - Wanyama

Davis - Mane - Tadic

Pelle

Yes , they've got a quick front line but our defenders aren't slow either. Should be able to win this one, but I'm not overly confident.

If you're a f'cking idiot, yes.

On an unrelated note, 5 of my 6 cards in my playing "career" were for dissent (although 4 of them were from the same ref). :o

You played football back in the day? You should have said! Not sure you've ever mentioned this before

3-2 to saints.

we will be back today

Pelle will score and everyone will have a right go at me for doubting him

I hope so, anyway

Hope you are right in your prediction. Fingers crossed. I see a very tight 1-1 draw.

Why play 3 at the back versus a team who play with one striker and dangerous wingers?

Bertrand and Cedric will be preoccupied with them so unable to get forward as much and two of the CBs will be marking space.

Plus any shot they have on target will likley go in....although Gazza a better option than KD now.

Only two players who are attacking in the side which is a shame.

Ron did this last season when we were on a similar shyte run.

went 3 at the back at home to everton with a fairly changed team and it worked

Drop Tadic and Pelle? I swear some fans are on crack.

obviously, you will think Koeman is on crack??

lets be honest, pelle was a complete passenger at home to the worst side in the league.

he is on one of those non-scoring runs again. why should he start every game?

JWP dropped again then probably will be recalled for the next game after doing nothing as a 65min sub today.

how many games has clasie been dropped for now?

will yoshida gift them a glorious chance today?

I absolutely love this team. It's exactly the kind of sea change we needed to see what koeman is really made of as a manager, and also to demonstrate that we really don't have a 'first 11' - our squad depth is as much being able to replace like for like due to injuries as it is to have a flexible squad to play different types of football.today it's good old counter attack with 5 at the back to deal with bolasie puncheon etc and mane and long to get behind their slow defence!

If we win, of course. Could go either way - but I'm happy at least that somethings changed
