Leo_ARG Posted 2 December, 2015 Share Posted 2 December, 2015 clasie needs to get up to pace quickly and we need to stop knocking it ****ing long at every opportunity. Mane looks like a man playing with boys. You mean Tadic right? Mane has been horrible after the goal. He is too selfish. And that is why his teammates are not passing it to him, giving the ball to Tadic every time.Tadic is the only one who showed up today. Maybe with Bertrand. The others were terrible. Even VVD was poor today. Also, how many great saves has Stek made all season?

shurlock Posted 2 December, 2015 Share Posted 2 December, 2015 Some of the passing/interplay wasn't too bad. Just brittle as **** at the back. We didn't have a clue in possession for 70mins. Going three at the back with our silky, ball-playing CBs, Caulker and Wanyama, obviously worked a treat...
sadoldgit Posted 2 December, 2015 Share Posted 2 December, 2015 suddenly yoshida isn't looking so bad when compared to caulker & the featherweight classie! Tonight doesn't excuse how bad Yoshida has been for some time.
S-Clarke Posted 2 December, 2015 Share Posted 2 December, 2015 Tonight doesn't excuse how bad Yoshida has been for some time. The reactions to Yoshida have always been over the top. He's not a right back, granted, but he's always done a job at CB for us and he at least knows the position. Less can be said of Caulker.

S-Clarke Posted 2 December, 2015 Share Posted 2 December, 2015 I suppose we will know the cut of saints jib in January! Well, we've never panicked and gone out and bought in January, or sold for big money in January, so I don't see a thing changing. Maybe a loan or 2. Well Yoshida is prone to mistakes which sometimes cost us goals, but his overall play, at CB at least, is decent. It sounds like Caulker was just permanently dreadful. Chris27687 Posted 2 December, 2015 Share Posted 2 December, 2015 There has to be a reaction to this and a big ****ing one. This season was about cup competitions and we're now down to one. We need to get our **** together before jan and the FA cup. Murdering villa at the weekend would be a small token.
Mr X Posted 2 December, 2015 Share Posted 2 December, 2015 question why do we always always switch off after we've just scored? its a constant part of our game under koeman
simo Posted 2 December, 2015 Share Posted 2 December, 2015 We're looking lost atm and I don't see how we change it hopefully scrape as many points as we can in December and hopefully get 1 or two in in January as we're stagnating!

Portugalsaint Posted 2 December, 2015 Share Posted 2 December, 2015 It looked appalling sitting here and watching the TV. I don't think I would like to have been at St Mary's this evening. The defense just fell apart.
Saint_Tony Posted 2 December, 2015 Share Posted 2 December, 2015 As expected the hysteria on here is abundant. Not a great night to put it mildly but some of the reactions are as embarrassing as the score line. It's all about the response on Saturday.. It's not about the response on Saturday at all, we can get beaten 10-0 for all I care. Tonight was important, the most important game for us for a year. A decent chance for silverware and we ****ed it up. It's simply unforgivable. Still, at least we might beat Villa and go 8th in the league or something, that would really make up for the disappointment of tonight. Only the FA cup to play for now. broken spoke Posted 2 December, 2015 Share Posted 2 December, 2015 We just don't have alot of talent... everything has been done on the cheap. And the elephant in the room was found out tonight... Rebel Posted 2 December, 2015 Share Posted 2 December, 2015 We haven't played well for weeks - we just looked good for one half against Bournemouth as they were overawed in their big derby and froze. And we just got thrashed by Liverpools B team. Caulker was terrible - he can't defend at all it seems. Cedric was nearly as bad. Shane Long may be a athlete but he is not a footballer. Wanyama has been awful for most of the season so far - all I can think is Morgan and Cork made him look a lot better than he actually is last season And other than the flick on or lay off to no one Pelle offers nothing up front for most of the games he plays - he doesn't defend from the front, he doesn't bring the ball down and play someone in, he doesn't beat a man, he doesn't run with the ball and create space for someone else. Clasie and Cedric are physically out of their depth in the Premier League. And the Koeman brothers just don't seem to care at the moment. And we don't play intricate passing football or posession football - we play long ball football to Pelle - and 9 times out of 10 it just comes straight back at us. Last season the team was a lot worse than the season before - under Pochettino we pressed and passed and moved and were great going forward. Last season we stopped pressing and starting playing direct football - we were just saved by having a great defence. This season we are a lot worse than last season. We are not good going forward and we don't have a good defence. We don't press and we don't play pass and move football. If the trend continues we are in serious danger of getting relegated next season. We need to spend some serious money in January and again in the summer if we are going to move forwards. You can't replace £32M of right back in Chambers £17M and Clyne £15M with less than £5M in Cedric and Martina and call it progress.
Hodgey Posted 2 December, 2015 Share Posted 2 December, 2015 Easy to over react after a big defeat. However I think we are on a downwards trajectory at the moment. I'm worried about our fitness, which has definitely gone backwards, and we are still looking for a replacement for Spider-man and clyne - even Koeman isn't sure about them. Can our new style overcome the press even lesser teams are adopting ? I've no idea but we do need a win against Villa to avoid relegation thoughts

tobes8 Posted 2 December, 2015 Share Posted 2 December, 2015 We simply can't compete when we are up against a slicker, faster and pressing midfield. We are so one paced in the midfield. Seriously limited.

Agree with everything apart from us playing great attacking football under MP. That simply isn't true. We were good to watch when we didn't have the ball, but with it we played slow possession football and had many many games where we were toothless in the final third
