CanadaSaint Posted 2 December, 2015 Share Posted 2 December, 2015 We have become very uni-dimensional up front. The running off the ball and quick ball-movement are gone, and the out-ball to Pelle - once used sparingly - has become our only means of launching attacks. Very worrying. S-Clarke Posted 2 December, 2015 Share Posted 2 December, 2015 Games just pass Clasie by, too weak. Cannot impose himself at all, we're kind of playing with 10 men - he's that ineffective. redkeith Posted 2 December, 2015 Share Posted 2 December, 2015 3 goals you couldn't do that much about really. Quality from Sturridge and Moreono couldn't have put that in a better spot ( although someone on the far post at corners would have dealt with that. It's a shame, because for the first 20 we were good, and could have easily been 2 up.
Dalek2003 Posted 2 December, 2015 Share Posted 2 December, 2015 On this form we'll need to be concentrating on the league anyway. I think so. Could be a long season and a long time before we get to 40 points. We need to get 3 points off Villa or a bad run of form will fast become a crisis. Mr Biscuits Posted 2 December, 2015 Share Posted 2 December, 2015 Just turned the radio off, no point listening any further to this match. At least we can concentrate on the league now I suppose although I would far rather be watching us progress in a cup competition. Getting very bored and frustrated watching us collapse every December. If anyone from the club reads this I have one simple message - stop p*ssing around and sort that defence out. I am tired of watching decent players go, leaving the club I support scratching around trying to shore things up. I hate the fact that to progress in the league you have to spend big money but that's the way it is. I am tired of watching us find really good players only to see them f*ck off after a season or two. Spend the money, keep the players we find and start f*cking winning stuff. Convict Colony Posted 2 December, 2015 Share Posted 2 December, 2015 (edited) I always like to write what I think before I read this thread so my observations are as follows: Caulker was damned if he did or if he didn't show him either side for the 1st Cedric lost the runner for the first goal, great ball by Can for 2nd 3rd was just a great strike Why hasn't Can be yellow carded as yet. What is Clasie doing in this game (I'm his biggest fan) Whose playing on Joe Allen? Will Pelle ever not complain that the ball isn't in the perfect position for him to score everytime? Will the ref and linesman make decisions on the game rather than which club has the most twitter followers to troll them. Only hope I have is if Klopp keeps this up he will be leaving for a bigger club than liverpool. Edited 2 December, 2015 by Convict Colony

The third was poorly cleared and a scuffed shot, which should have been saved really, went in. 3 rubbish goals and we have created our own downfall. Saint86 Posted 2 December, 2015 Share Posted 2 December, 2015 Caulker at fault for the first 2 goals. We lost Toby and Morgan, then didn't strengthen the defence or replace Morgan. The result is we are just a shambles at the back and more so with fonte out. A real shame. Our central midfield just doest exist and is terrbily weak and permeable. Has been all season, but we are being torn apart by a partly second string Liverpool side, at home, and after having the lead. As stated, again this is because of caulker largely and yoshi is clearly the better choice in that regard; just pick your evils. After today's comments with koeman it is clear all is not right behind the scenes and this performance just highlights the weaknesses in the side. Hopefully we'll actually sign a Morgan replacement and a CB to challenge fonte and Virgil. We clearly have the dosh and koeman has publicly stated he wants us to spend. He looks ****ed so maybe he'll fire them up... But feck me, we are awful and have no fight in cm.
IronCitySaint Posted 2 December, 2015 Share Posted 2 December, 2015 This team has nothing to offer at the moment. After a great start we were in control for a while but passed up some good chances (yet again) to make it two then just collapsed. Think they had three shots on target and scored from all of them. And this is our strongest team, bar Fonte. Clasie is such a disappointing player for me. Our Dutch friends say he is a defensive midfielder but offers no protection or screen for the defence. His passing is mostly sideways, a modern day Jim Magilton if you like. Can't remember his name being mentioned on the Sky stream until the 40th minute. I thought Liverpool were lousy for the first 20 minutes then we just gave them the midfield and they did whatever they wanted. We are even making that useless pile of poo Lovren look decent. Would hope for a barnstorming second half in front of a full house under the lights to try and turn this around. It is more likely to be a damp squib. S-Clarke Posted 2 December, 2015 Share Posted 2 December, 2015 Starting to think Romeu, Davis and JWP might be our best midfield 3. Could have sold Wanyama, not signed Clasie and had an extra £30m in the bank! Wanyama has suffered from his partner changing all the time, but his form has suffered too. Does seem like he wants to leave. Wanyama isn't playing any different than he has, he just doesn't have that shield next to him. Any player would miss someone like Morgan next to him, we simply didn't replace him and there is a hole for sure.

Saint Charlie Posted 2 December, 2015 Share Posted 2 December, 2015 Clyne and Schneiderlin the most obvious misses of all the players we lost. Cheapy replacements unfortunately who are both obviously decent but both about as unsuited physically to the PL as it is possible to be.

St Marco Posted 2 December, 2015 Share Posted 2 December, 2015 Can't blame Koeman, he can only use what he has. What he has said about us needing to spend money on quality becomes so much clearer from the past few performances. We are a couple of players away from a strong team. But sadly the players like Caulker, JWP, Yoshida, Romeu etc have not been anywhere near the rest of the teams level. Also as Matty said Caulker was shocking for that second goal. Cedric was supposed to continue after him but Caulker was just standing still ball watching. He had no idea where Sturidge was, never looked around to see if he had moved. Only looked after the ball went over his head. If Vvd has moved forward it is his job to know where the furthest forward Liverpool player is and stick to him. Not just wander off and do your own thing. I would bring Juanmi on for Classie and push Davis into CM with Wanyama. The worst thing we can do now is bring on JWP who has done nothing at all this season and expect him to change things.
