Window Cleaner Posted 2 December, 2015 Posted 2 December, 2015 Is Cedric injured? I watched the City game in Florida at the weekend and Yoshida was a liability. I never want to see him in a Saints shirt again. Would rather Martina played. No one knows, Koeman said he wasn't, several posters on this forum insist he was. WTF knows what's going on just now.
BILLY Posted 2 December, 2015 Posted 2 December, 2015 This - don't think we have the players to cope with their quality. I've also got a bad feeling that Stokes name is on the cup as well, which would annoy the crap out of me, but they look pretty solid right now and difficult to play against. Hey ho - there's always next year. "Stokes" I thought you were talking about Bobby Stokes then! Then it would be our year. Can't see us beating Liverpool tonight afraid to say.

BILLY Posted 2 December, 2015 Posted 2 December, 2015 dangerous 4 words those Got to be better then Yoshida at RB!
Window Cleaner Posted 2 December, 2015 Posted 2 December, 2015 Got to be better then Yoshida at RB! Some seem to think so, manager evidently doesn't though.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 2 December, 2015 Posted 2 December, 2015 Can we start slagging the players and RK now before we know the team... Well,it is the norm on here ..
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 2 December, 2015 Posted 2 December, 2015 imagine if yoshida starts at RB tonight And Pelle...
david in sweden Posted 2 December, 2015 Posted 2 December, 2015 ...and the thought that the other 3 semi-finalists ..have already beaten us so far this season .......isn't that encouraging either.
Pilchards Posted 2 December, 2015 Posted 2 December, 2015 I'm not sure of the benefit the club will gain if they said Fonte is injured. I'm hoping Liverpool will rest a few players and that we can play to our full potential. Cedric RB, Clasie and Tadic need to start!! Going 2-1 us and a lively Pelle bagging them both.
The Cat Posted 2 December, 2015 Posted 2 December, 2015 Lee Peacock. Presumably Liverpool are training at Eastleigh.
alpine_saint Posted 2 December, 2015 Posted 2 December, 2015 Not expecting a positive result tonight. Liverpool are flying high, whereas we suddenly appear to be in the doldrums again.
Dalek2003 Posted 2 December, 2015 Posted 2 December, 2015 Not expecting a positive result tonight. Liverpool are flying high, whereas we suddenly appear to be in the doldrums again. I hope we play our second team tonight. The game against Villa is a six pointer.
maysie Posted 2 December, 2015 Posted 2 December, 2015 I hope we play our second team tonight. The game against Villa is a six pointer. You two would make quite the comedy duo.
Plastic Posted 2 December, 2015 Posted 2 December, 2015 Looking forward to the game, should be a great atmosphere, but Koemans comments earlier were sobering and I'm not expecting a win sadly.

saint lard Posted 2 December, 2015 Posted 2 December, 2015 I don't want Yoshida anywhere near the starting 11. That means do not play him at RB. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Mr X Posted 2 December, 2015 Posted 2 December, 2015 We desperately need a win doesnt seem to be anything to cheer about lately & it will be a tough tough game against villa they are fighting for their lives, Liverpool have somewhat turned around there poor form & are looking very dangerous, with the injuries we have and the lack of quality available i cant see anything other than a liverpool win unfortunately
Saints foreva Posted 2 December, 2015 Posted 2 December, 2015 Haven't been the nervous before a game for a while. Please Saints. Just win.
Wallington Saint Posted 2 December, 2015 Posted 2 December, 2015 This is interesting from The Guardian . . . http://www.theguardian.com/football/video/2015/dec/01/southampton-v-liverpool-current-and-former-saints-compared-video On these stats, we'll walk it tonight!
BARCELONASAINT Posted 2 December, 2015 Posted 2 December, 2015 must admitt i am not confident about tonight.....the last home game against Stoke is a very bad recent memory that i just cannot shift. Too many players looked disinterested and again on Saturday we were dire for the first 20/25 minutes and City could and should have been out of sight. Start like that again tonight and the game will be all over by the 25 minute mark!
doddisalegend Posted 2 December, 2015 Posted 2 December, 2015 This is interesting from The Guardian . . . http://www.theguardian.com/football/video/2015/dec/01/southampton-v-liverpool-current-and-former-saints-compared-video That is very interesting So JWP has better passing stats with regards to key passes and chances created this season than Lallana ........ VVD is better than Lovern as a defender ... kind of a given considering Lovern's form at Liverpool and perhaps the biggest surprise Cedric has totally dicked Clyne on the stats given in the video (but yet loses his place to Yoshida )

Think that's unfair I saw plenty of effort what let them down was to a man the players managed to make the wrong decision every single bloody time. Shooting when a pass would have been better, passing when they should have shot, defenders bombing forward when they should have sat, passing to the player surrounded by stokies rather than the one in acres of space no lack of effort just loads of brain farts.
VectisSaint Posted 2 December, 2015 Posted 2 December, 2015 Hopefully VvD is OK for tonight. His head injury Saturday was still obvious yesterday and not seen in the pre match pics or video. Looks like Kenzie Benali also makes her debut tonight.
Lallana's Left Peg Posted 2 December, 2015 Posted 2 December, 2015 Looks like Kenzie Benali also makes her debut tonight. In for Yoshida at full back?

Agreed. It's far too easy to say players aren't trying hard enough or aren't interested when results aren't going well. I'd say lack of effort is probably more likely when teams are doing well and complacency sets in. Don't get me wrong, the players may be playing badly (although against City tactics surely played a part), but assuming there are no behind-the-scenes issues, I doubt they are ever indifferent to their performance.
Saint Matty 76 Posted 2 December, 2015 Posted 2 December, 2015 Randall starting for Liverpool. Can have Tadic get at him. Origi & Sturridge starting too. NO Coutinho.
Dalek2003 Posted 2 December, 2015 Posted 2 December, 2015 OOh....what is the formation with that team ?
Saint Fan CaM Posted 2 December, 2015 Posted 2 December, 2015 If they score first, we are done for. If we can stick in 2 before Benteke and/or Milner get played we might stand a chance. (-:
SO16_Saint Posted 2 December, 2015 Posted 2 December, 2015 Looking at our/their team this is DEFINITELY winnable COYR
Manuel Posted 2 December, 2015 Posted 2 December, 2015 Glad to see Cedric on the list. Hope Caulker can continue where he left off Saturday. The usual hoping that Lallana has a shocker and Mane runs rings round Lovren. More confident now. 3-2 Saints.
DT Posted 2 December, 2015 Posted 2 December, 2015 No Fonte but Caulker for us, Sturridge starting for them. I'm not optimistic.
Mr X Posted 2 December, 2015 Posted 2 December, 2015 Why is yoshida on the bench even? I guess we have no other option
DT Posted 2 December, 2015 Posted 2 December, 2015 Why is yoshida on the bench even? I guess we have no other option In case Caulker is REALLY bad
Window Cleaner Posted 2 December, 2015 Posted 2 December, 2015 No Fonte but Caulker for us, Sturridge starting for them. I'm not optimistic. You should be then, Klopp has made it easy for us, unless he's actually counting on Sturridge that is.
Plastic Posted 2 December, 2015 Posted 2 December, 2015 Klopp stood on the half way line watching saints, hasn't even looked at his team
doddisalegend Posted 2 December, 2015 Posted 2 December, 2015 Klopp stood on the half way line watching saints, hasn't even looked at his team trying to figure out who to buy in the summer....
Saint Charlie Posted 2 December, 2015 Author Posted 2 December, 2015 Our best XI with those available. Good work Ronnie.
SO16_Saint Posted 2 December, 2015 Posted 2 December, 2015 Klopp stood on the half way line watching saints, hasn't even looked at his team Someone, can't remember who, said that a manager who watches their team warm up isn't that confident in the team. Hope that's the case
VectisSaint Posted 2 December, 2015 Posted 2 December, 2015 its not what you know..... Not often I'm ITK
