Well done Saints.

Surprised this news is 16hrs old and no one has commented.

Probably because this is technically good news and as Alpine has resurfaced after the last win everybody is depressed looking for the ****ty end of the stick to hold

Not only good news on prices but also Saints have taken full allocations of just under 3,000 for West Ham and just over 2,500 for Norwich

Hope the fans reward Saints by buying all the tickets available

It is very good news, I think quite a few were planning to do West Ham anyway for one final visit to The Boleyn ground before it joins the list of old grounds that have gone.

I think we'll sell 3000 there no problem, it's Christmas and a lot will have the next day off. Worth noting it is a 5.30pm kick off, with Bournemouth playing at Arsenal at the same time also taking 3000 so trains going up and back will be interesting if they decide to keep on with their quest of starting a rivalry and calling us Scummers at every opportunity.

Might be harder to shift the Norwich tickets being that bit further to travel, recommended train route going up us via Cambridge and changing there due to engineering work on the normal line.

Another factor to consider is the unknown cup games the following week as the league cup semi final 1st leg will be 5/6th Jan and FA Cup 3rd round 9th Jan. (Obviously only an issue if we beat Liverpool but that's lots of games to buy tickets for on the build up to Christmas so excellent choice by Saints to reduce ticket prices for West Ham and Norwich.

That's a very good point, FA Cup could potentially be another long trip on the road and 'if' we make the semis next week and get an away leg first, it will definitely be 'oop north', the closest possible would be Stoke.

Well I'm pleased, I'm going to 7 matches between now and the final whistle at Norwich, plus a gig in Cardiff, an event in London, 2 Christmas meals and 9 nights away from home in hotels or at a mate's. Plus there's Christmas and New Year, and paying for Euro 2016 transport (already got hotels).

Wouldn't mind but January sees FA Cup 3rd Round which could be worth doing, potentially 2 League Cup semi-finals, a trip to York v Newport for the weekend and the wife's birthday, which might lead to a week away if we don't make the semi-finals.

This is without going to Saints v Villa, Saints v West Brom, and the aways at Palace, West Ham or Man U. So I'm pleased the Norwich game basically gives us £35 back for 2 tickets.

I noticed an advert while reading yesterdays ECHO that Coliseum coaches are offering an excellent deal for travel to these matches as well so for those fans who like to go by coach it could be worth looking into (i'll be going by train personally but that is due to alcohol consumption requirements)

West Ham away - £13 adults and £8 Children.

Norwich £20 adults (not sure how much children were)

pick ups at St Marys, Eastleigh, Winchester and Fleet. - http://www.coliseumcoaches.co.uk/Tours/Away-Travel

and before anyone says it i don't work for them, just thought it looked like a good deal and would be good to see us sell out both these away games.

  • 2 weeks later...
Good to see the club using it to lower the price of match day tickets instead of subsidising travel coaches.

Yeah I agree with this, loads of away regulars I know don't live in Southampton so far better to do reduced tickets rather than travel, especially as there seems to be so much competition with three different coach operates running to away games keeping prices down anyway.

Not surprised to see West Ham sell out quickly, will be a good atmosphere having 3000 up there for a 5.30 game, Norwich seems to be selling well with blocks F and G sold out, about half of final block H remaining I'm sure we'll sell those over next couple of weeks and as they are on general sale now gives non-season ticket holders a chance to take advantage of the half price tickets.
