Be interesting to know if it is linked in any way to his knee injury. It's obviously not the same injury but wonder if his foot issue is related to his rehabilitation and / or anything that has changed during the process of having his knee rebuilt.

yeah I'm not quite sure were the foot injury came from. One week he seemed fit and now he needs surgery:?

I know I'm repeating myself but we've known for several weeks now that Jay has "painful feet" but not one interviewer has ever asked Koeman what type of injury is actually causing the pain. Hey ho.

Instead they ask about us maybe signing a non league 16 year old. Poor show really.

Gutting for Jay Rod. Gone from being on the verge of a World Cup in Brazil to struggling to get a game.

Hopefully the surgery will be successful and he isnt out long.

With Ramirez dropped off the scene we are quite short on attacking options all of a sudden.

It really is embarrassing the things these so-called journos ask at press conferences. Not one of them seems to have a clue about what to ask. The kid from Cheltenham is 16, I doubt Ronald is even involved (he claimed to know nothing about it), might be something to ask Les about, but really its just a normal move to bring some players in to bolster the Academy, which frankly looks a bit weak at the moment (but that's another story).

Very sad for JRod, but almost certainly this is a side effect of the previous injury, again why doesn't someone actually ask the pertinent questions?

On a positive note (depending on your point of view) Gaston seems to have made a reappearance after his recent disappearing trick (which again no-one thinks to ask about).

If they didn't ask, how have the Echo got a quote saying "It is difficult for the player but for everybody because he is total back and no problems and now it is a different injury. It takes the boy down mentally and it is difficult because all we can do is give total support to the player."

bit confusing as Koeman says feet and everyone else says foot. If it's a pain in both it could be bunions.

More likely to be Koeman misspeaking, "they did everything they could about his feet" is fairly generic and doesn't necessarily mean it's both of them.

It wasn't asked in the Press Conference. Maybe the Echo journo asked in the part of the Press Conf that is for the written media only and is usually embargoed. If so good for the Echo scoop, someone with a bit of sense.

Agreed. Although RK comes over quite well in interviews, it's fairly obvious he didn't study English to a higher level at school.

But we shouldn't complain too much as his predecessor hardly uttered a word of English in his entire tenure as coach / manager (whatever he called himself).

Gutted for him. Players coming back from long term injury can then go through a period of other injuries and never get back to full fitness. Michael Owen had lots of recurring problems. Let us hope this is the end of it for him and not the beginning of the end of his career.

Koeman's English is fine and doesn't remotely bother me, occasionally it leaves us with ambiguity which sometimes is helpful in dodging clear answers and sometimes is just ambiguous. :)

It could be related to the ACL injury in the sense that the body will often put stress on other parts of the body to deal with an injury.

Maybe during the course of recovery he favored his ankle/foot in a way to compensate for the ACL injury that it created an injury to that very foot/ankle.

Almost certainly related to muscle weakness from his previous injury, i.e. he didn't have time to build up his muscle to the same level as it was before and it's had a knock-on effect to another part of that leg. These injuries are often tied together (according to a Physio I know).
