So I've been playing an old edition of Football Manager and signed McDonald Mariga. According to the gospel that is Wikipedia, he's a free agent at 28 since leaving Parma. Is he any good in the real world? His playing history seems decent.

WELL.....Parma aren't the hottest thing in Italian football, and if he's been given a free......trying to start a Prem.career at 28 may not be so easy.

The fact that he's Victor's brother, may not qualify him for anything....Whoever had a brother who was better than they were?...remember the " Wright- brothers "

Better to remember the Wallace brothers...Poor Ray had two better brothers.

Then there are the Nevilles, they even have a better sister

And it's a pity that we never got the better Le Tissier brother to play for us too.

that's an interesting one, Vectis

Bobby and Jack's mother was the (only?) girl in the Milburn family with (I think) her 7 brothers?.

'Wor Jackie..... was a God on Tyneside, but I think all the brothers played football to some reasonable level ...

I think there were 4 brothers who all played professionally, Jack (Leeds & Blackburn), George (Leeds & Chesterfield), Jimmy (Leeds & Bradford) and Stan (Chesterfield, Leicester & Rochdale). Wor Jackie, the more famous, was their cousin. Bobby & Jackie Charlton were nephews. Cissie (Bobby & Jackie's Mother) was sister of the four brothers I believe. Bobby & Jackie had two other brothers, one was Tommy, but not sure about the other one. Tommy never played football "seiously" as far as I recall, but I may be doing him a disservice.

The two better brothers were SO much better. I don't know how Ray ever got a game for us.

thanks for the update Vectis....I'll consult " Ancestry " next time before I mention any sibling connections.

Also interesting as I was also trying to recall siblings who played for Saints?....not so many...

The three Wallaces are the obvious that comes to mind, but there were one or two " Floods " around in the 1950's.... as I recall ?
