mattiiiboiii7 Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 Hi all. I'm at the Wales vs Netherlands game this evening in Cardiff and it looks like VVD and Clasie are starting. I'll be keeping my Saints eye out for both and how they are getting on! Twitter has posted the team and it looks like Clasie will be playing CDM and VVD part of a back 3. I'll be interested to see if VVD dominates like he does for us and if Clasie can stamp his authority on the game ....!! Fingers crossed no injuries too ...!!! [emoji4]
Batman Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 (edited) Lallana started Shyte for England so far It is fairly disturbing that phill Jones is still viewed as an international CB Edited 13 November, 2015 by Batman
doddisalegend Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 Jordy getting caught in possession allowing wales to break:(.....then follows up with a good defensive tackle:)
SuperSAINT Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 Lallana started Shyte for England so far It is fairly disturbing that phill Jones is still viewed as an international CB Not sure how Delph gets a start either.
doddisalegend Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 I'm glad the Koemans didn't bring this style of Dutch football to saints three centre backs playing passes between them for five minutes at a time does not make for gripping watching.
saintmatt Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 is the xi ryan bertrand is lining up with tonight better or worse than the xi he lined up with vs sunderland on saturday?
Saint Charlie Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 Tadic, Pelle and Davis also starting tonight.
doddisalegend Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 VVD getting done by Tom Lawrence there
doddisalegend Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 VVD down getting treatment EDIT; back on the pitch thank god
Batman Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 No surprise. England are absolutely shocking on the ball when faced with a bit of quality. Absolutely shocking
S-Clarke Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 Not sure how Delph gets a start either. He's part of the squad at a big club, automatic selection.
doddisalegend Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 Wales game on the BBC site if anyone interested http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/wales/34779353
Jack Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 England are miles behind technically. Clumsy on the ball when pressed, slow to move the ball, movement isn't good enough. We'll get taken apart by decent teams in major tournaments.
Jack Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 Standard Barkley. Decent turn but no real thought of anything but going on a run and scoring a wonder goal. Which always results in a Lallana-style shot into the advertising boards.
doddisalegend Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 VVD getting given the run around by some kid playing at Blackburn...

Jack Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 Just way off Spain. We are all about pace. That is it The Jonathon Forte of international football
doddisalegend Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 Clasie looking pretty good for the Dutch tonight working hard, decent passing and doing the defensive stuff well against Wales (who admittedly are missing Bale and Ramsey) nothing spectacular but solid and effective.
Guan 2.0 Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 No surprise. England are absolutely shocking on the ball when faced with a bit of quality. Absolutely shocking It's almost as if England wasted an entire qualifying campaign, where they were gifted some of the weakest opposition imaginable, and instead of looking at bring through a crop of in-form players who were showing why they deserved to be in the national team, he built the squad around getting an out of form and past-it forward so he could claim a special badge for scoring penalties against dog-and-duck level opponents, picking big team bench players as he went. It's almost like that, but the FA are a progressive modern organisation with a long term plan, right? P.S. Delph plays after what, 94 minutes all season?
doc oli Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 Lallana by far the worst player on the pitch.
Batman Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 Our 3 best chances have involved Bertrand. Lallana has been awful so far. Kane so isolated Unless we break with electric pace we have absolutely nothing to offer.
svetigpung Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 He's part of the squad at a big club, automatic selection. Read in the papper (ok the mirror) today that Bertrand was probably second choice LB behind Gibbs. FFS he's not that regular and not that special. And as mentioned, Jones at CB is just an embarressing joke.

FFS he's not that regular and not that special. And as mentioned, Jones at CB is just an embarressing joke. Outrageous if Bertrand is seen or become 2nd choice to Gibbs. Yet the papers and pundits (generally) would still have Rooney as the first player picked as he is our 1 and only great player. Jesus Christ!!!
doddisalegend Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 Wales get one back after a dodgy penalty for hand ball penalty saved rebound turned in I must say Wales play more exciting football than England.

doddisalegend Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 Second half VVD replaced by Joel Veltman
Batman Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 Nothing screams English international football more than Phil Jones lobbing the ball up aimlessly towards the centre forward. God sake
nta786 Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 steven davis with another goal for his nation
doddisalegend Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 They might be getting on a bit but Wesley Sneijder and Arjen Robben are an absolute class above of every other player on the pitch in this game.
doddisalegend Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 Dutch 2-1 up Arjen Robben scores a great individual goal.
Jack Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 Steven Davis - prolific goalscorer. Stick him up front if Pelle gets injured/suspended
Batman Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 There we have it. Sterling breaks with the ball and runs towards their goal. Our players ahead of him all run in a line with sterling. FFS
Guan 2.0 Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 Sterling and Bertrand best cobination and main outlet in first half. Second half, Roy Switches sterling to the right. #ClassicRoy
Batman Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 Sterling and Bertrand best cobination and main outlet in first half. Second half, Roy Switches sterling to the right. #ClassicRoy Basically. It seems we have not moved on one jot. We rely on pace or a bit of individual brilliance. The team patterns of play are horrific
Jack Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 Will never improve under a dinosaur like Hodgeson. It's annoying we made such light work of qualifying, he'll be under no pressure until we get dumped out of the Euros.
Batman Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 What great goal by Spain. £50m sterling left his man unmarked
Jack Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 What a goal. Sterling's fault though. Should never give it away there and left Bertrand stranded miles up the pitch.
doddisalegend Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 Just goes to show how crap qualifying for international tournaments is. The Dutch (a team who didn't qualify for the euros) are playing some great football and bossing Wales and would IMO give England a bit of battering on this form.
Batman Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 This is probably where Roy will say how pleased he was with some of the players and proceed to throw those who don't play for the top 6 clubs under the bus, so to speak
Chalkboy Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 Yeah let's try Rooney out - gotta give these new guys a chance.
Yorkshire Saint Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 Second half VVD replaced by Joel Veltman VVD off injured !
doddisalegend Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 2-2 bloody good game this Wales v Netherlands match
Georgie Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 VVD off injured ! Hate international breaks. What did he do?
doddisalegend Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 VVD off injured ! Not sure he went down and got some treatment but then played another 25 minutes of the 1st half. TBH VVD was getting done by some kid that plays for Blackburn every time he found himself one on one with him so he might just have been taken off because of that.
Toadhall Saint Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 Just way off Spain. We are all about pace. That is it Huff and puff. And there you have it Spain pass it into the net pure quality
