Under Weststand Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 He jumped with his arm up........know the law Oh so every time you jump with your arm in the air its a penalty is it even if it Doesn't hit your hand/arm WTF Great move Ryan Smith poor shot
Legod Third Coming Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 good run from smith shame about the shot
Alright Dave Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 I personally thought Welbeck clipped his own heals and it wasn't even a freekick in the first place. Then a crap decision for the pen Riley is a ****ing joke!!!
trousers Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Riley's a comlete c**t! Seen the replay again and looks to hit the back of DMG's shoulder although DMG is a complete weapon for raising his hand anyway! Can't compete against ref's siding with the big money clubs! Who's to say that Lowe hasn't paid Riley to get the crowd on the referee's back and not his. Not something I'd suggest or accuse but might have crossed someone's mind...
Legod Third Coming Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 we just need to relax now and enjoy it and see what happens
Gordon Mockles Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Could be worse, at least Setanta only has 412 subscribers. Make it 413 but I'll be cancelling in 2 months! May as well cancel all my sports on Sky. Get no enjoyment watching it anymore!! Scheinderlin and Kayne Mc Laggon (who the f*ck is he?) on for Gobern and Gillet.
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Fergie takes Carrick and Giggs off...anyone would think Man U have this game in the bag
Gingeletiss Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Oh so every time you jump with your arm in the air its a penalty is it even if it Doesn't hit your hand/arm WTF Great move Ryan Smith poor shot OK rephrase......in the area any handball offence is a penalty, it dosn't have to be delibrate.
Under Weststand Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Who's to say that Lowe hasn't paid Riley to get the crowd on the referee's back and not his. Not something I'd suggest or accuse but might have crossed someone's mind... Oh great conspiracy theory.

Thedelldays Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 is it me...or do we seem to lack any kind of pace...?
Saint Billy Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 lol morgan now on "in the shop window".... Your given me the info before it happens on the stream, weird ****.
benjii Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Can't argue that either....clear penalty :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
trousers Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 is it me...or do we seem to lack any kind of pace...? No, its not you....
JustMike Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 OK rephrase......in the area any handball offence is a penalty, it dosn't have to be delibrate. yes it does..ball to hand and all that. BUT it hit his head so no penalty...simple
Saint Martini Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 OK rephrase......in the area any handball offence is a penalty, it dosn't have to be delibrate. Ok, rephrase. It didn't touch his hand (or arm).
trousers Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 yes it does..ball to hand and all that. BUT it hit his head so no penalty...simple Maybe so....but still desn;t expain why he went for it with his hand in the first place. The fact that he missed it with his hand doesn't explain what was going through his head....if anything...
Thedelldays Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Maybe so....but still desn;t expain why he went for it with his hand in the first place. The fact that he missed it with his hand doesn't explain what was going through his head....if anything... agree with that..
Arizona Posted 4 January, 2009 Author Posted 4 January, 2009 Definitely a penalty. Big lol at all those people blaming Riley. Yes he is a mong and probably wouldn't have given either the card or the pen against Man Utd, but both were deserved none-the-less. DMG raised his arm in the box and blocked the shot. It's as blatent a penalty as you will see this season. The players are young and making schoolboy errors. Shop sticking your heads in the sand about this.
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 60 odd minutes and I'm still quite pleased with how we have played today...although, United haven't really gone at us full throttle have they?!?! Rooney is coming on...
Gordon Mockles Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Rooney about to come on? Oh dear. *parp*
JustMike Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Maybe so....but still desn;t expain why he went for it with his hand in the first place. The fact that he missed it with his hand doesn't explain what was going through his head....if anything... yes granted he shouldnt have led with his arm but so if refs are to be consistent, everytime a player leads with his arm, even if it doesnt hit his arm, the intent is there to handball it, therefore, according to Riley, its a penalty?
Edmonton Saint Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Definitely a penalty. Big lol at all those people blaming Riley. It actually has to hit his arm though to be a penalty, you cant give it on intent
Gordon Mockles Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 McLaggon is actually quite handy. Got the assist against Reading last week. Ok, just never heard of him. Here comes Rooney!
JustMike Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Definitely a penalty. Big lol at all those people blaming Riley. Thedelldays Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 It actually has to hit his arm though to be a penalty, you cant give it on intent indeed but the ref saw it once at full speed and I can see why he could have given it....
badgerx16 Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 doesn't explain what was going through his head....if anything... How do you make David McGoldrick's eyes light up ? Shine a torch in his ear......

benjii Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 60 odd minutes and I'm still quite pleased with how we have played today...although, United haven't really gone at us full throttle have they?!?! Rooney is coming on... I think we've had 1 shot on target. You're quite happy with that? It's the same impotent crap that will see us relegated by April.
Nellie Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 OK rephrase......in the area any handball offence is a penalty, it dosn't have to be delibrate. Dear oh dear, learn the fecking rules. It has to be deliberate, or it isn't an infringement of the rules. If the ball had hit him on the arm, fine; it shouldn't have been up there and Riley would have been right to award a penalty. As it was though, it hit him on the back of the shoulder. How on earth can that ever be deliberate? It was never a penalty and I reiterate, Riley is a ****.
Kadeem Hardison Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 I think we've had 1 shot on target. You're quite happy with that? It's the same impotent crap that will see us relegated by April. You do realise we are playing against Manchester United?
Gingeletiss Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 it deflected off his shoulder........that's part of the arm.
TUS Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 The penalty was a tough call ... whether it actually hit his hand or not is academic. The referee has to make a decision on the spot having only seen it once in real time. We've all got the luxury of Setanta replays and even then it's hard to see. He shouldn't have given the referee the chance to make the decision by jumping with his arm next to his head. It was stupid. Regardless ... lets not kid ourselves. We're being outplayed by a better team.

Your veiws are completely contrary to Five live, BBC sports, Sentanta, and the French commentators, as far as i can udnerstand them, plus the evidence of my own eyes on the TV!

Saint Billy Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Smith with a great backpass to the defence....................their defence! ffs

I wouldn't expect much more out of us against the champions of Europe/England/The rest of the world etc. This type of performance, with the passion etc week in week out, would see us in the play-offs in April.
JustMike Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 wrong....it dosn't ball to hand!!!!! as in..not intentional
Legod Third Coming Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 we need to bring HOLLOWAY in NOW he sees the way we play and knows exactly what is wrong Rupert get him in
benjii Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 it deflected off his shoulder........that's part of the arm. You have bad eyesight too.
