Arizona Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Match Build up on here please. Lallana, Holmes and Surman will all face late fitness tests. MS should be fit. Ryan Smith is fully fit, but doubtful weather he will be risked after a dislocated shoulder. Saganowski will not play. The official line is that he failed to receive international clearance in time. I would personally go with: - - - - - - - - Davis - - - - - - - - James - Lancashire - Perry - Skacel - - - Surman - - Schneiderlin - - - - Lallana - - - DMG - - - Holmes - - - - - - - - Paterson - - - - - - -
SNSUN Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Has there ever been a game we've been more fearful of than this one? Even with a weakened United side, if that is indeed what Fergie puts out, we stand to get our backsides handed to us. We haven't won in six games, are playing pretty but meaningless football, and have a defence that lets in goals worse than my new invention, the sieve-condom, lets in fluids. All day my colleagues have been asking what I think my prediction is, especially the United fans among them, and I have been saying that if we keep the score down, we'll have had a result. On an optimistic note, one can only think the players will be more up for it, and ultimately it is just 11 players vs 11 (until Lancashire gets sent off for butting Gary Neville). In addition there's the added aspect of United believing they'll coast this. I can't watch it thanks to work, but even if I was off I'd fear it more than the Haunted Shack I got freaked out in at the funfair when I was 7. If we get a shpanking, work is going to be unbearable tomorrow. Fingers crossed a different Saints team turn up today, w00T and UTS.
St.Thomas7 Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Just got a text from a friend who works at Ladbrooks inside the ground that Rooney, Ronaldo and Tevez all haven't travelled... with Saints at 9/1 the bookies are apparently quite nervous...

krissyboy31 Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Just got a text from a friend who works at Ladbrooks inside the ground that Rooney, Ronaldo and Tevez all haven't travelled... with Saints at 9/1 the bookies are apparently quite nervous... According to Sky Text Rooney and Ronaldo are set to start. Tevez at home in Argentina though!
Stu Man Do Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 http://www.manutd.com/default.sps?pagegid={F9E570E6-407E-44BC-800F-4A3110258114}&newsid=6624552&page=1 Thats the utd side of team news. Only mentions he "might not" play Ronaldo but as already known tevez, ferdinand and evra definately not playing. I wouldnt be suprised to see utd with a mix of 1st teamers and youngsters who have already been around the 1st team like silva or wellbeck, with an extra strong bench on the off chance DMG manages to blag us a goal in off his arse! Id go for; Davis James Lancashire Perry Molyneux Holmes Surman Spiderman Skacel DMG BWP
Um Bongo Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 2-0, We're going to win 2-0! You heard it here first. And only here.
Leicestersaint Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 I don't feel at all confident - but with Saints anything can happen.
It's There Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 I still dfream ,but the reality will be 4 : 0 to MU.......still MLT had a dream goal against Arsenal and they said it couldn't have been written in the script...but he did score in the 3 :2 victory...keep dreaming
RobM Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Patterson starts upfront, Surman in and Gobern in also!
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 I would have liked to have seen McLaggon in the XI as I thought he had a blinder when he came on against Reading. I can't see us getting a result at all this afternoon, but Saints, if you are going to lose, please go down with a roar and not a whimper!
Red Alert Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 -------van der Sar Nevile Vidic Evans O'Shea Nani Anderson Carrick Giggs ----Berbatov Wellbeck Its fair to say they have come here to beat thrash us.
Saint Billy Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Is there a full house to watch the public execution?
Window Cleaner Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Patterson starts upfront, Surman in and Gobern in also! Surman not got the flu in his broken leg then???
Window Cleaner Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 -------van der Sar Nevile Vidic Evans O'Shea Nani Anderson Carrick Giggs ----Berbatov Wellbeck Its fair to say they have come here to beat thrash us. Poor side, very takeable, probably not by us though.
Over land and sea Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Only six subs listed for Saints on the OS? http://www.sportinglife.com/football/live_match/174085.html BWP missing from OS list (I think I'd rather have gone with 6 subs!) Molyneux given number 43 shirt despite all the vacant squad numbers - must be the highest shirt number we've ever had.
RobM Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Surman not got the flu in his broken leg then??? Nope, all fixed
Window Cleaner Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Nope, all fixed Must have taken a lot of ouffle dust all that then.
alpine_saint Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Poor side, very takeable, probably not by us though. By a team with organisation yes, with our mickey-mouse management, no. But then Fergie wouldnt have played it if that were the case.
Window Cleaner Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Anyway I'm off to watch France 4,sound off no doubt cos those d*cks know nothing about football. Catch you all later.
greg_hill Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Poor side, very takeable, probably not by us though. A "poor" side??!! You know Berbatov's' toenail is worth more than our whole squad, right?
alpine_saint Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 So according to Setanta, its 4-4-2 for us... Schnedierlin not fully fit then ?
icehagman Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 COYS!!! Let this be the turning point of the season... ;-)
Under Weststand Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Jesus that is a pretty strong side out by United Lets hope we at least give a good account of ourselves.
