farawaysaint Posted 25 October, 2015 Share Posted 25 October, 2015 Newcastle with 65% of possession and 21 shots to Sunderland's 9 with only three Sunderland shots on target. How the heck did they lose 3-0?
Lighthouse Posted 25 October, 2015 Share Posted 25 October, 2015 Reminds me of when Villa won here a couple of seasons ago with their only 3 shots going in. Sunderland were sh*te and if it wasn't for a silly challenge by Coloccini they'd have lost.

Bad Wolf Posted 25 October, 2015 Share Posted 25 October, 2015 Lol Boruc. I'm so glad we got rid of that clown. What's everyone's opinion of the Newcastle penalty? Personally, I think the referee just about got the right call in giving the penalty (though I can see the argument against that) but it was never a red card. It has to be a red card if it was a foul there
Batman Posted 26 October, 2015 Author Share Posted 26 October, 2015 then on to 3 big games sunday will probably see Rooney plod around the pitch, slow Man U down and the media will still tell us how brilliant and vital he is to united/england yep, no shots, no chances created, lowest pass completion rate of all out field players. 41% pass completion rate in the city half, for the whole game only touched the ball once in the city penalty area yet the so many of the pundits, media bods will tell you that rooney is such a vital player etc

Most football fans with half a brain can see he has lost his edge, his mate Stevie G burned very brightly from an early age too but dimmed in full public view, the likes of Pirlo, Sheringham, Stanley Matthews are freaks of footballing nature playing well into their 30's even 40's. Most players can slide away quietly, unfortunately the likes of Rooney are in a goldfish bowl that is very hard to get out of.
Batman Posted 26 October, 2015 Author Share Posted 26 October, 2015 There's really no reason to lose it at that age. Besides, he's been very average for quite a while now. Or even if 'good', still well below the level the media hype him up to, or his own standards or 4 or 5 years ago, or when playing with ronaldo. His biggest problem has always been coming. He's a very good footballer, but has never been in the best shape possible. With all the best trainers and dieticians that's purely down to him, and it'll catch up with him quicker than most. Another stat seen floating about. (So probably not true) Rooney lost possession 5x more than the next worst offender. United would be so much better if mata was in the 10 posn behind Martial
Mystic Force Posted 26 October, 2015 Share Posted 26 October, 2015 One thing to say for Sir Alex Ferguson was that when a player stopped performing they were out, no sentimentality about it.
