saint lard Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 I have been stating that i have suspected the return of Baird for a considerable time,i did however believe it was part of a Lallana deal.
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Someone suggested, on another thread, that Franco di Santo could be on his way from Chelsea.

SNSUN Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 God or Jesus CDAJFU. They're aging, but if we get them on a pay as you play deal, it could pay off. I know we had Jesus last year, but letting him go was a mistake. Miracle worker.
Gorgiesaint Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 As I mentioned on another thread earlier in the week.. Duffy - Pompey Available on a free apparantly - youngish right back (23) who not been able to break through past Glen Johnson & Lauren
Chez Posted 4 January, 2009 Author Posted 4 January, 2009 Boyd - Peterboro quality player, someone I have seen several times and rate highly. Not sure his club will be letting him leave for peanuts though. Andy Bishop is another.
Jimmy Gabriel's Halo Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 As I mentioned on another thread earlier in the week.. Duffy - Pompey Available on a free apparantly - youngish right back (23) who not been able to break through past Glen Johnson & Lauren Agree with that although at 23 is way too old.....
JustMike Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 we have no money, so we all should go for a trial, you never know ;-)
ottery st mary Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Scott Sinclair, Mineirio or Michael Woods. If we need a goal keeper, if Davies Goes? Then Rhys Taylor. Chelsea Reserves Players.
St Landrew Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 As this thread might last the entire month, I thought I'd spruce the title up a bit. Sorry I haven't a single player to add. :smt012
SuperMikey Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 As mentioned on another thread, Owain Tudur-Jones would be a good signing. He's been getting a lot of stick on that thread for being injured, but he's very rarely in that position and would certainly add some steel to our midfield. And I also posted a link to a BBC article a while back saying that Arsene Wenger would loan out some of his younger players. Ramsey, Wilshere, Vela and Jay Simpson were all on that list and CDAJFU. Not checked to see if any of them have been loaned out though, so they may not all be available.

Master Bates Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Jay Simpson has gone to West Brom. Paul Terry cdajfu, Also, Any chance of resigning Garry Monk? Nah thanks, I still hold a grudge against the rude stuck up c**t.
krissyboy31 Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 After watching Gillingham, Simeon Jackson could certainly do a job for us.

Saint Bones Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 Cork from Chelsea WAS very good. Fixed.... Sadly . Well I guess he is still good - but not for us.
brightspark Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 a striker that looks anything like "Michel" off the film Dodgeball...
offix Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 Johann Cruijff, even if he needs a Zimmer frame, would do better than some in our team now.
Saint_clark Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 a striker that looks anything like "Michel" off the film Dodgeball... Iwelumo is the closest I can get to that unfortunately.
VectisSaint Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 Dowie, Adams, Cotterill, Tisdale - any of these could do a job for us, and unless one of the above or similar is brought in to do a job for us, anyone else mentioned above is just a waste of time with the current incumbent, dope smoking amateur.

Careful VS this is close to libellous - I don't think he smokes.
Chez Posted 5 January, 2009 Author Posted 5 January, 2009 Jamie Ward (22) is available on a free in the summer from Chesterfield. 16 goals this season and a 1 in 2 record. Barnsley have just bid for him.
paris Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 Saw some pictures of Dennis Bergkamp today he looked as though he could still play a bit.. Oh and of course Mr Thierry Henry..and while i'm at it Theo could well be on the move...
del boy Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 "On the Cross" has some suggestions: http://www.southampton-mad.co.uk/ Which are....... The outs Everyone. Let's move on shall we? The ins Now you're talking. With a central defender and a striker top of the agenda who are the stellar names linked with a move? Chris Baird Despite his recent appearances in the Fulham squad and even starting line-up, Baird has been strongly linked with a return to Saints where he performed so well. The sticking point is, as ever, wages with Saints unable to match his Premiership salary, but the player may well be coming as part of a deal involving Lallana, a summer target for Fulham. 3/5 Broadsheet Marlon Harewood With Saints short of firepower all season, Harewood has found it difficult to get into the Villa side and with O'Neill looking to buy another striker he is likely to remain on the fringes. Powerful and pacey, Harewood is a force to be reckoned with in the Championship and would be an ideal loan signing up front. Again wages and competition from other sides in the league make this a difficult ask, but his goals could mean the difference between staying up and going down. 2/5 Tabloid Danny Welbeck Man Utd may well repay the Saints' defence's generosity for gifting the (offside) youngster the opening goal by allowing the emerging youngster to go on loan and continue his development alongside the fellow youngsters at Southampton. Quick, with an eye for goal, he already boasts 2 goals in 4 first team appearances and would be a great signing. 2/5 Tabloid Owain Tudor-Jones On the fringes of the Swansea side after a lengthy injury break, Saints could be set to continue with the recent transfer policy of signing crocked midfielders yet to make it at Championship level. However, with other sides linked with the player, midfield a low priority and other sides linked with the player, surely even Saints won't blow the budget? 2/5 Tabloid Paul Terry Poortvliet has said he has is looking for a 'John Terry' figure and who better than his brother, Leyton Orient's Paul Terry. However, Saints may not even be able to afford him and may go for another 'revolutionary' appointment by going for former Hampshire cricket coach Paul 'the other Paul Terry' Terry. 1/5 Some bloke down the pub Christian Dailly If you believe the messageboards, then Christian Dailly is about to return from Rangers once again to shore up Saints' leaky defence. Only you don't do you, so he isn't. 1/5 Some bloke down the pub Some bloke you've never heard of Get Google at the ready as another hidden gem to match the likes of Pekhart and Gasmi heads to our underachieving club. 5/5 Holding up a shirt Guide to On the Cross ratings: 0/5 Men in white coats time 1/5 Some bloke down the pub 2/5 Tabloid 3/5 Broadsheet 4/5 Official site 5/5 Holding up a shirt
saintwarwick Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 Anyone over the age of 24. Agreed, three or four experienced heads to help the youngsters.
Matt SFC Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 John Thompson - RB/CB Has been released by Oldham. Think he's in his mid 20's. I remeber when he was at Forest did a good job there. Certianly worth giving him a trial and seeing if he's any good with a few reserve games. Nothing to lose I wouldn't have thought, and would add a bit of fight and experience to the side. As well as giving us more options defensively, which we desperately need.
AndyNorthernSaints Posted 6 January, 2009 Posted 6 January, 2009 Jamie Ward (22) is available on a free in the summer from Chesterfield. 16 goals this season and a 1 in 2 record. Barnsley have just bid for him. Good shout. Unfortunatley our coaching team and director of football chairman are probably not aware of him. Maybe they don't watch goal highlights on ITV or Sky?
SaintRobbie Posted 6 January, 2009 Posted 6 January, 2009 Why was the Dailly thread closed... was it bollooooockx?
del boy Posted 6 January, 2009 Posted 6 January, 2009 Why was the Dailly thread closed... was it bollooooockx? Maybe because those ITK said he would sign on Monday and its now Tuesday
