So that will free up £40,000 pw wages which should be good enough to bring in a half decent CB from abroad :-)

Way off in your wages.

I don't know what his wages are / were, but I was listening to Simon Jordan on TalkSport a couple of months ago and he was saying that Birmingham City were actually paying him more than we were!

if you believe the Mirror then he is on £10k a week at Saints. Birmingham paid him £18k a week, plus a £1.2m loan fee to Saints. Red****s Birmingham also paid £200k fee to the agent to broker the deal.

if you believe the Daily Mail then he is on £22k a week at Saints. Birmingham paid him £30k a week, plus a £1m+ loan fee to Saints.

Good Luck Sam. I think we've done well to get the mooted £5 million off them, especially if there's a sell-on. I wanted him to break through, like a homemade Peter Crouch, but it never really happened for him.

I think we're doing the right thing selling off the older 'youth' players that will almost definitely get no gametime. Make a bit of money and free up wages and space in the squad. Let's hope we get a few more sales under our belts sooner rather than later.

Not on this one. However could get some nice Wonga if Lemina goes abroad....

Marseille I assume, no way he's going back to Juve.

Sam had some bad things to deal with while at Saints but glad he's finally got a move where he can prove himself week in week out and get himself back on track, he's still a young lad at 23 and just needs games in a competive league level to get going, who knows we may see him in the Premier league soon if he does well, you never know, All the very best Sam

I've seen his wages quoted as 30k, 40k and 50k on here. Do any of you actually know his wages or are you just making it up.

Good luck to him. Never seen him look anything like a Premier League player, so I can’t see him being the one that got away. Should do alright at that level but won’t set it alight.

Anyone who has to spend a prolonged period of time in Blackburn has my sympathies.

Yes, very backwards part of the country.

Because we all started buying Asian cotton instead of supporting English products.

Because we voted in laissez faire, free market economic policy across three decades. So we have Thatcher and Reagan to thank fro Gallagher being sold.

I remember him scoring a great winning goal at St Mary’s when we beat Blackburn to win a youth trophy. Wish him every success, shame it never quite worked out as well as it might have done at Saints, but he has a good career ahead of him, I’d say

Not before we stopped buying cotton from Asia having started our own cotton mills , exploiting child labour has no borders !!!

Happy for Sam. Clean break & a good move to a good club with a good manager.

Hope gets a good run of games, goals & the confidence will do him the world of good.
