jamesfp1 Posted 11 October, 2015 Posted 11 October, 2015 Had a look the other day. No goals. Hasnt featured in last 2 matches.
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 11 October, 2015 Posted 11 October, 2015 They signed Maynard on loan a few weeks ago which means Sam has been on the bench recently but he has scored one for England U20s v Holland last week and came on yesterday v Turkey and helped turn a 1-0 deficit to a 2-1 victory.
saint97 Posted 11 October, 2015 Posted 11 October, 2015 Seen a few MK Dons fans online say he's been shocking.
simo Posted 11 October, 2015 Posted 11 October, 2015 Had an assist in his first game and thats it I think ,Robinson talks highly of him though !
St_Tel49 Posted 11 October, 2015 Posted 11 October, 2015 Seen a few MK Dons fans online say he's been shocking. We've had people on here saying that Mane was shocking (when he first joined)
Pilchards Posted 11 October, 2015 Posted 11 October, 2015 We've had people on here saying that Mane was shocking (when he first joined) He still is shocking........ At diving
SFC Chris Posted 12 October, 2015 Posted 12 October, 2015 We've had people on here saying that Mane was shocking (when he first joined) That's because he was.
simo Posted 12 October, 2015 Posted 12 October, 2015 no he wasn't. He was the worst player on the pitch 4 games running
Lighthouse Posted 12 October, 2015 Posted 12 October, 2015 We've had people on here saying that Mane was shocking (when he first joined) I don't remember it being when he first joined so much as that run up to Christmas when we were losing games and TBH Mané was awful; in that period he really did look like a more expensive Mayuka. Against Burnley and Sheff Utd I think he was especially bad, getting dragged off having made no impact at all. Then on that Boxing day trip to Palace he suddenly turned it around and looked a decent player again.
Saint86 Posted 12 October, 2015 Posted 12 October, 2015 except he was lol. Funny that Arsenal fans took one look at him in the 2-1 cup game (one of his first matches for us) and said he was class and really dangerous. A lot of numpties like you on here that write players off far to early. JWP is another one that people will look like utter mugs over. 20 years old, 100 apps for a premier league team and captained his country at every level... but useless pile of steaming horse dung according to the world class scouts and managers on here.
eelpie Posted 12 October, 2015 Posted 12 October, 2015 He still is shocking........ At diving Shockingly good?

Yes because Arsenal fans opinions on our players are certainly more valid and informed then our own. I was unaware JWP has captained the England senior side as well, or even got a call up, pretty sure that makes him the only English player under the age of 25 in the top two flights who hasn't at least got a cap.

benjii Posted 12 October, 2015 Posted 12 October, 2015 He was the worst player on the pitch 4 games running Bull****.
simo Posted 12 October, 2015 Posted 12 October, 2015 Bull****. I dont think theres any argument (anyone else disagree ?) about that more the fact we judged him too early !
Fabrice29 Posted 12 October, 2015 Posted 12 October, 2015 Mane in his first game Vs Arsenal was superb. Really exciting and unpredictable. Some criticised him as said above just before Xmas but frustration is just part of the package with unpredictable wingers, especially in there first season.
VectisSaint Posted 12 October, 2015 Posted 12 October, 2015 I dont think theres any argument (anyone else disagree ?) about that more the fact we judged him too early ! He was still shockingly awful in some games early on. Players can be shockingly awful and still turn out to be very good. Some can be shockingly awful and stay that way, some can be brilliant and turn out to be shockingly awful. Unfortunately there are a few rather dim posters on here who don't seem to be able to grasp such a concept and spout rubbish about a player being brilliant even when he was at some times shockingly awful.

It was obvious he was a decent buy IMO. Even in his poorer games he showed that he was a good player who would scare defenders.
supersonic Posted 13 October, 2015 Posted 13 October, 2015 Getting back on point about Gallagher, he hasn't scored for them yet. Seems to be struggling a little according to the MK fan I know - thinks he may be carrying an injury. As others have pointed out, they've bought in another forward player which has dropped SG further down the pecking order. Will be interesting to see how he does between now and xmas.
sadoldgit Posted 13 October, 2015 Posted 13 October, 2015 A bit frustrating when we send players out on loan to get games and experience and they end up sitting on the bench - but you cant blame the managers for not playing them if they aren't providing the goods.

I think Les Reed said we structure the deals in such a way that the more the player on loan plays the less the club he is at pay for him. Stephens is at a good club and will have a tough time getting in that Middlesbrough team unless there are injuries. Gallagher needs to refine his craft - he is a big lad with a lot of upside but his general touch isn't great and that will really impact the degree he can influence a game. Turnbull plays all the time at Swindon but they appear to be crap this season. I'd expect several more from the U21's to go out on loan soon as well as they aren't getting too much from U21 football even if they are playing all the time.

Saints charge a club a sum of money when they loan a player out and then the club doing the loaning get a bit back from Saints every time the player makes an appearance.
once_bitterne Posted 13 October, 2015 Posted 13 October, 2015 We've not done well targeting the clubs to loan players too. Gallagher is nowhere near Championship level so it's pointless sending him to MK he should be at a L1 or even L2 club. Likewise, Stevens is not up to a top promotion chasing Championship team he should have either gone back to L1 or to a mid-table level Championship team.

I certainly feel Jack would have been better off playing every game for Swindon in league 1 rather than just playing 26 mins in the championship.
david in sweden Posted 13 October, 2015 Posted 13 October, 2015 He still is shocking........ At diving ......it has to be said that many players who are fouled (or who do dive) make a better job of " falling " that Mane does. Chelsea game was a prime example Even though he is (genuinely) fouled quite a lot - every time he goes down.... it looks a bit theatrical......
SuperSAINT Posted 10 November, 2015 Posted 10 November, 2015 http://www.onemk.co.uk/community/sport/cowshed-commentaries/articles/mk-dons-time-for-sam-gallagher%E2%80%99s-loan-to-end-101120150031.html? Maybe a move down a division would be beneficial?

Chelsea game was a prime example Even though he is (genuinely) fouled quite a lot - every time he goes down.... it looks a bit theatrical...... Mane's problem is that he IS pretty lightweight and tends to fall like he's been hit by a ton of bricks as a result. It's also easy to be made to fall over and go sprawling when you're flat out running too. Edited 10 November, 2015 by The9
david in sweden Posted 12 November, 2015 Posted 12 November, 2015 as this is Sam Gallagher's thread..back to the subject...... whatever else happens... ....if the MK Dons manager doesn't rate him - they shouldn't keep him, (although looking at their league position he could do worse than give Sam a run of games) We should get him back (if poss.) and organise another loan out...(if legal). The lad needs games and really should be out of the U21 squad now - if he is to succeed.
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 12 November, 2015 Posted 12 November, 2015 He played for England U20s yesterday in France. There is a call back option in January
Sergei Gotsmanov Posted 12 November, 2015 Author Posted 12 November, 2015 He played for England U20s yesterday in France. There is a call back option in January We should take him back FF. They really rated him and should nurture him. Maybe cherry pick the right place for hi to go.
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 We should take him back FF. They really rated him and should nurture him. Maybe cherry pick the right place for hi to go. I agree there is no point him being there and not getting game time
doddisalegend Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 Maybe we should send him to the erdivisie worked for Pelle who was pretty bang average until he rocked up in the Netherlands. Maybe we could get a Dutch feeder club like Chelsea with Arnhem.
The9 Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 If he's on a "season long" loan (i.e. more than the 93 days you're allowed for a "month by month" loan) we can't recall him until Jan 1st even if we wanted to.

The9 Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 Unless both clubs mutually agree Is that a thing? I didn't think we could either way once the term was agreed, until there was a transfer window. When we sent Taider back we were still in the summer window.
The9 Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 Nothing about "mutual agreement to cancel" season long loans ("Temporary Transfers") in the Prem Handbook [page 200], in fact it specifies a minimum term for it: A “Temporary Transfer” shall mean the transfer of a contract registration effected in accordance with Rules V.6 to V.10. V.6. Subject to the conditions set out below, a Temporary Transfer shall be permitted: V.6.1. between Clubs; and V.6.2. between a Club and a club in membership of the Football League, the Football Conference, the Northern Premier League, the Isthmian League and the Southern League. V.7. The conditions referred to in Rule V.6 are: V.7.1. a Temporary Transfer to a Club may not take place in the Transfer Window in which the Transferor Club acquired the Player’s registration; V.7.2. during the period of the Temporary Transfer of his contract registration a Player shall not play against the Transferor Club; V.7.3. if during the period of a Temporary Transfer the Player’s registration is transferred permanently from the Transferor Club to the Transferee Club, the two Clubs may agree in writing (to be copied to the League) that the Player shall not play against the Transferor Club for the remainder of the Season; V.7.4. subject to any conditions imposed by the Board in the exercise of its discretion under Rule V.4.2, the minimum period of a Temporary Transfer shall be the period between 2 consecutive Transfer Windows and the period of a Temporary Transfer shall not extend beyond 30th June next after it was entered into; PREMIER L LEAGUE RULES: SECTION AV 201 SECTION V: PLAYERS – TRANSFERS OF REGISTRATIONS V.7.5. the maximum number of Temporary Transfers to any one Club registrable in the same Season shall be 4 and in no circumstances shall more than 1 be from the same Transferor Club at any one time save there shall be excluded from these numbers any Temporary Transfer of the kind described in V.7.6.1 or V.7.6.2; V.7.6. not more than 2 Temporary Transfers shall be registered by a Club at the same time except that there shall be excluded from that number: V.7.6.1. any Temporary Transfer which become permanent; and V.7.6.2. the Temporary Transfer of a goalkeeper which in its absolute discretion the Board may allow in circumstances it considers to be exceptional; V.7.7. a Club may transfer the registration of no more than one of its goalkeepers by way of temporary Transfer to another Club each Season, subject to any further Temporary Transfer of one of its goalkeepers pursuant to Rule V.7.6.2; V.7.8. any other conditions agreed between the Transferor Club and the Transferee Club or, in the exercise of its discretion, imposed by the Board.
The9 Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 FWIW Rule 4.2 doesn't pertain to cancelling a loan either, only additional restrictions on an initial loan. V.4. Outside a Transfer Window the Board in its absolute discretion may: V.4.1. refuse an application; or V.4.2. grant an application and, if thought fit, impose conditions by which the Club making the application and the player shall be bound
david in sweden Posted 13 November, 2015 Posted 13 November, 2015 Send him to a decent L2 team.. An L2 club OK ..Po???? NO !...just as long as it's not THAT one....it would blight his Saints career for ever.

Sergei Gotsmanov Posted 13 November, 2015 Author Posted 13 November, 2015 He would have a real point to prove if he went somewhere else. Might be the making of him.
