Club sponsor Veho has donated its shirt sponsorship for next month’s home game against Leicester City to charity Breast Cancer Now.

Saints will wear the Breast Cancer Now logo on their kits when the Foxes come to St Mary’s on Saturday 17th October.

Veho already has a partnership with Breast Cancer Now, supporting them with the sale of special pink editions of its products. The electronics firm will donate a minimum of £25,000 to the research charity in 2015/16, aiming to surpass this amount with fundraising events around the game.

Steven Lewis, CEO & founder of Veho, said: “Like many others, close family members of mine have been affected by cancer and Breast Cancer Now is a charity close to my heart.

“I wanted Veho to play a small part in raising awareness and funds for a worthy charity that believes if we all act now, by 2050, no one will die from breast cancer.”

Ralph Krueger, chairman of Southampton Football Club, added: “Southampton Football Club is delighted to help support a charity that is so close to the heart of our main sponsor, Veho.

“As a club that prides itself on its values and principles, it gives us great pride to be able to act as the vehicle to help raise awareness for such a worthwhile charity and to take Breast Cancer Now’s message to a global audience.”

Delyth Morgan, Chief Executive of Breast Cancer Now, said: “Around 1,000 women in the UK die from breast cancer every month. That’s one woman’s life cut short every 45 minutes, the length of the first half of a football game.

“This is why we are so thankful to our partner, Veho, for their generosity in donating their shirt sponsor space to Breast Cancer Now and for continuing to support the charity’s vital research. It is only by working together that we can achieve our aim to stop women dying from breast cancer.

“We look forward to seeing part of this collaborative force in action among Southampton and Leicester fans on matchday.”

As well as pride of place on the shirt, Breast Cancer Now will be prominent on matchday with fans able to purchase the special pink Veho Pebble Powerstick phone charger, unique co-branded wrist bands and other merchandise, as well as chat to volunteers about breast cancer and the research Breast Cancer Now helps to fund.

The unique shirts worn by players will be signed and made available for auction through the Saints Foundation website following the game with all funds raised being donated to Breast Cancer Now. Ten replica match balls which will also be signed and auctioned for Breast Cancer Now.
