angelman Posted 19 September, 2015 Posted 19 September, 2015 West ham now beat Arsenal Liverpool and City in their first 3 away games of the season and Rogers was moaning about how hard his first lot of aways were! WHU seem a little bipolar. But fair does for those 3 wins.
shurlock Posted 19 September, 2015 Posted 19 September, 2015 Who was it -S-Clarke?- who spent the summer, ridiculing West Ham's transfer business?
doddisalegend Posted 19 September, 2015 Posted 19 September, 2015 The league looks much more difficult this year. One of the reasons why I thought those people declaring Saints as the 7th super power in English football at the end of last season were a bit deluded. It was like that didn't expect any of the other PL teams to get any better, this season, and saints wouldn't get any worse. On the plus side if things stay as they are maybe it will be West Ham's and Leicester's turn to have their squads stripped bare next summer.
Lord Duckhunter Posted 19 September, 2015 Posted 19 September, 2015 Is Navas the worst crosser of the ball ever seen? Shocking , the amount of ball he had and he didn't pick anyone out , or even miss the first man most of the time . Typical modern winger , quick but clueless . If you gave john robertson that much ball , he'd have put 3 on a plate for Bony and then slipped off for a fag and a pint .
Batman Posted 19 September, 2015 Posted 19 September, 2015 (edited) Who was it -S-Clarke?- who spent the summer, ridiculing West Ham's transfer business? Plenty were dismissing other sides like west ham, Swansea, palace summer business and hailed our own. I think we had a decent window at best. Still amazed we are going into this season without serious competition for pelle. Or even a replacement. The Juanmi signing should have been a central striker to push pelle all the way When West Ham, Swansea and palace sign payet, ayew and cabeye. You should pay attention. A handful of games in. We will all be much of a muchness. None of these fu cking clubs are getting in the Champions League so who cares.

Excluding a bit of luck with the draw. Going out with a whimper this season to a league 1 side would be Shyte
trousers Posted 19 September, 2015 Posted 19 September, 2015 Yes I'm looking forward to match day 17 fixtures. Or. I'm looking forward to the Boxing Day fixtures. Did someone mention Boxing Day....?

We're stuck with players we probably wouldn't have signed if we thought we weren't going to make it. So we've got a squad to utilise, so they better get on with winning the League Cup. Beating Man U tomorrow will do to start with, though. Edited 19 September, 2015 by CB Fry
John Boy Saint Posted 19 September, 2015 Posted 19 September, 2015 No one in this country uses "match day X" for the Premier League. If you look at the referee appointments they pretty much bill it like that.
CB Fry Posted 19 September, 2015 Posted 19 September, 2015 If you look at the referee appointments they pretty much bill it like that. I have no idea why I would ever want to do that. However, would be interested to see how the weeks are described in, say, mid April when FA Cup ties and League matches are played on the same day meaning games in hand start racking up and when the weather starts moving matches around the schedule. Then what day is it? Matchday 3/23/31/etc is a load of sh it.
nta786 Posted 19 September, 2015 Posted 19 September, 2015 Did someone mention Boxing Day....? agreed with everyone. never ever say 'match day', if you are looking for something to say, i prefer 'game week' or even 'match week'. or how about weekend fixtures. As for boxing day, falls on 28 december this year cos thats when the day off is

John Boy Saint Posted 19 September, 2015 Posted 19 September, 2015 That Ritchie goal for the Cherries what an absolute gem.

Saint_Tony Posted 20 September, 2015 Posted 20 September, 2015 Theres only a few teams that look worse than us this year, it's very much looking like mid-table this season. As we know though, finishing 8th-17th makes little difference. I hope we go on a cup run, although our record in cup competitions has been very poor the last few seasons. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk You were expecting different? We're a good PL team for which (like most teams in the PL) anything in around 10th is a good season having two seasons finishing 7/8th didn't suddenly make Saints a PL super power to rival the big boys.

With no Europe it would be disappointing to down to 10th/11th I think.
doddisalegend Posted 20 September, 2015 Posted 20 September, 2015 With no Europe it would be disappointing to down to 10th/11th I think. Disappointing but not overly surprising the PLs reputation doesn't come from the world class football on display but the general competiveness. The only team who has regularly hung on to the coat tails of the big six is Everton and even they have had poor seasons. The issue with the last two seasons is it has given saints fans expectations that we were going to be a constant top seven team which is highly unlikely given the nature of the PL and the resources the club has.

I never said it did, and I never said I expected anything different. I fully expected us to be around 10-12th this season. That would be no disgrace. The league is far more competitive this season. As I have said many times, last season we played to our full potential in most games. It's just not possible to maintain that for another season. Last season will be our only opportunity to try and break the glass ceiling and break into the top 6. And as we saw, it is nearly impossible to do. We did a lot of the hard work but ran out of steam. I think Swansea may challenge this year.
Batman Posted 20 September, 2015 Posted 20 September, 2015 I see newcastle are still shyte big mike has plashed the cash and they are still down there. never mind, PARDEW OUT and all that
adrian lord Posted 20 September, 2015 Posted 20 September, 2015 ^ they are far worse and headed for the Championship. Can't say I am sorry.
Batman Posted 20 September, 2015 Posted 20 September, 2015 Son puts Spurs 1-0 He looks like a great player.
Window Cleaner Posted 20 September, 2015 Posted 20 September, 2015 Son puts Spurs 1-0 He looks like a great player. No he's rubbish dontcha know, Spurs only spend money on rubbish..well known fact amongst the unenlightened.
Gorgiesaint Posted 22 September, 2015 Posted 22 September, 2015 Costa now suspended for 3 games so he'll missing when we play Chelsea.
Picard Posted 23 September, 2015 Posted 23 September, 2015 Son puts Spurs 1-0 He looks like a great player. Good job Paul Mitchell!
The9 Posted 23 September, 2015 Posted 23 September, 2015 No one in this country uses "match day X" for the Premier League. I used to use it for our Fantasy Football back in 2000. I don't understand the preciousness about a descriptive phrase lifted from the Champions League when there are fluorescent pink ankle-high boots being worn in most matches.
