I had no idea referring to the 6th day of matches as 'Matchday 6' would upset so many people. :scared:

There was me thinking £50 for tickets and £90k a week for incredibly average players were what's wrong with football.

Surely Sunderland will go down sooner or later. They look hopeless and against some pretty forgettable opponents too.

allardyce will be their manager soon enough.

his first home game will more than likely be us. where they will put in their first good performance of the season, ffs

Big Sam to Sunderland couldn't be more inevitable.

Sunderland are probably the most pointless side in premier league history, ever.

Make up the numbers.

Would love Sunderland and Newcastle to go down and have some Southern clubs replace them!

Make it easier to go to more away games!

Brighton Forest and Derby replacing Sunderland, Newcastle and Villa would be pretty decent. With Bompey staying up too it would certainly annoy the Skates.

m'villa just had a goal ruled out- offside.

Hmmm- table looking very volatile atm!

Considering our next 3 games are Utd, Swansea and Chelsea we need some points from them or will be firmly in the bottom third of the table.

Given the dross we have played so far (Everton aside) its been a poor start when given a seemingly kind set of fixtures.

Agree with this.

All the away games have been against sides who will be down there at the end of the season. 3 points from WBA/Watford/Newcastle isn't good enough.

Still unbeaten away though.....

WBA away will always be tough.

Watford away was a terrible performance

newcastle away, we should have won

You do realise that you're actually typing this, and it's not just a wandering daydream, don't you.

Bit pathetic really, common enough phrase used by the Prem League and UEFA for years now. Strictly speaking it is Matchweek rather than Matchday, because the games for each week are spread over 3 or 4 days nowadays.

No one in this country uses "match day X" for the Premier League.

West ham now beat Arsenal Liverpool and City in their first 3 away games of the season and Rogers was moaning about how hard his first lot of aways were!

The league looks much more difficult this year.

Agree. Last year we were simply better than more than half of the league. The whole standard of the league, especially mid third is better and many teams have improved their first XI with genuine quality added.

Any non top 6 regular who ends up in the top 10 will have had to play better than they would have last year IMO.
