Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Wasn't dailly brought in by pearson?...................................... not sure Lowe would let him back with his previous associations......................unless (insert conspiracy theory here) Thought Burley brought him in?
Mr X Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Thought Burley brought him in? Was it? you may be right
Mr X Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Thought Burley brought him in? yes you are right! I got it wrong!
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 yes you are right! I got it wrong! Hold on - let me call the missus. I knew I could be right one day...!
TheSaint75 Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 According to those who think you have to play hoofball to get out of/stay in this league, every other team in this league plays no nonsense centre backs. we potentially pair 2 of the most experienced, (yet also comfortable on the ball) CBs who read the game well and enjoy a tackle, and loe we are worried about pace! Do you not think we could get done for speed very easily with a quick striker against us and the old heads at CB? I'm not saying he wouldn't be a good signing but I would prefer him as holding midfield with dare I say it Lancashire at CB (until we can get anything better in)
um pahars Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Do you not think we could get done for speed very easily with a quick striker against us and the old heads at CB? I'm not saying he wouldn't be a good signing but I would prefer him as holding midfield with dare I say it Lancashire at CB (until we can get anything better in) I wonder how Dailly (or any older head) fits in with Jan's belief that they're not on the same wavelength with the younger players:rolleyes:. Hope is not a strategy!

Hope is not a strategy! maybe JP has twigged it's not quite working out with nippers only, stranger things have happened
once_bitterne Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 Due to arrive shortly at SMS for his medical. Watch out for the ice Christian!!
Glasgow_Saint Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 Due to arrive shortly at SMS for his medical. Watch out for the ice Christian!! You sure?
SaintRobbie Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 We need 11 Men, not just one morale signing. Dailley is a nice start. ITS TIME TO REPLACE THE KIDS.
John B Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 We need 11 Men, not just one morale signing. Dailley is a nice start. ITS TIME TO REPLACE THE KIDS. Daily was a Burley signing If we replace all the kids I do not feel we will succeed long term. I agree we should not have all kids but a team of oldies is just a short term solution.
del boy Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 Will sign on Monday Is this the new "taken over on Friday"
Give it to Ron Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 Due to arrive shortly at SMS for his medical. Watch out for the ice Christian!! Do loanees have medicals? surely if they are not fit they go back to loan club. Hope you are right though as exactly what we need.
krissyboy31 Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 OMG, if this is true we will have the oldest and slowest CB pairing in the history of football.
ExSt Peter Saint Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 Perry was pretty sharp when he blocked from Carrick, I'd say.
once_bitterne Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 OMG, if this is true we will have the oldest and slowest CB pairing in the history of football. Indeed. Loads of pace is exactly what you need to be a good CB. Pallister and Bruce were almost as quick as Usain Bolt......
SaintRobbie Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 Daily was a Burley signing If we replace all the kids I do not feel we will succeed long term. I agree we should not have all kids but a team of oldies is just a short term solution. Exactly right. I think we should solve our relegation short term problem with men then have 2-3 kids per game on the bench with possibly one playing. All fighting for a chance. That's how you run a football team. However, we wont get 7 more men this month, so we're fooked in the short term anyway.
SaintRobbie Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 Perry was pretty sharp when he blocked from Carrick, I'd say. Superb in my book - absolutely superb.
Iowsaintsfan Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 Indeed. Loads of pace is exactly what you need to be a good CB. Pallister and Bruce were almost as quick as Usain Bolt...... :smt044 haha
DT Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 This plus Baird would be an excellent start. Need ball-winning midfielder next, though God knows why Schneiderlin doesn't start.
Wildgoose Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 This plus Baird would be an excellent start. Need ball-winning midfielder next, though God knows why Schneiderlin doesn't start. He's only just coming back from an injury........
Saint Garrett Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 Dailly would be a fantastic signing IMO. Reads the game so well and he controlled our defence when he was there last year. He is also a danger from setpieces up the other end, exactly what we need.
krissyboy31 Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 He is also a danger from setpieces up the other end. Good shout!!
John B Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 Exactly right. slickmick Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 Dailly would be a fantastic signing IMO. Reads the game so well and he controlled our defence when he was there last year. He is also a danger from setpieces up the other end, exactly what we need. Agreed. Teddy Sheringham used to give himself a yards advantage by reading the game well. I believe Dailly gives us that quality. A good old fashioned centre half that gets stuck in is what we have been crying out for.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 Why cannot posters accept that we have no money and therefore cannot be successful. What we cannot accept is the stupid decisions made with the little money we have this season...and Bull**** about the cluless dutch 3 coaches being cheaper than a proper one. The head coach talking complete crap after matches. No money!! but sign Schniederlien??? Bringing in utter crap loans, peckhart, robertson, smith etc instead of keeping at least one decent scorer. Continualy playing an awfull striker. Signing a player on a contract and then sending him on loan twice and signing Smith instead. Sending a experienced player to Brighton just because he spoke out against the ridiculous goings on at our club, i spoke to said player after game yesterday.
krissyboy31 Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 Why cannot posters accept that we have no money and therefore cannot be successful. We may not be successfull but we can be organised. Our players can be coached to control and pass the ball, have positional awareness, mark at set pieces, find room in the opponents box when we are attacking and above all give 100% effort. I can't believe that we are getting the best out of the players that we have and therefore we need a coach and a manager that can. It is still not too late to get a mid-table finish but that is dependant on getting rid of the inept Dutch trio.
Guest Dark Sotonic Mills Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 You sure? Yep, it's very cold down there.
saint_stevo Posted 5 January, 2009 Author Posted 5 January, 2009 Do loanees have medicals? surely if they are not fit they go back to loan club. Hope you are right though as exactly what we need. Not a loanee i dont think, joining on a free til the end of the season as far as i can tell
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 Has our Church Newpaper been delivered yet?
eelpie Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 Not really sure adding these old players who get injured every other week is a good thing for us right now. Dont get me wrong i think he did superb for us last year but in a year since then he has been plagued by bad injuries and i think played only 14 games in that entire 12 months or something like that. It reminds me a bit of Svensson. When working is a quality player, but sadly getting him just onto the pitch to play is very very difficult. If we could get him on a pay as you play deal then that might be alright though. Just i think if we were to give him a proper contract i cant see him playing many of the games at all, would be better to just give one of our own a chance. Cant believe it has been over a year since he was with us. The reality. I would love to hear just for once that Lowe is to sign a player who is not going to be on the bench for much of the season.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 any hard evidence on this yet? or still just rumour

Big Bad Bob Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 I keep seeing new post on this thread and open it thinking he must have signed! Not yet. Has he signed yet?? (This could get as long winded and protracted as the Skacel saga......has he signed yet??)
explorer saint Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 Dailly & Baird at the back Harewood and Saga up front now that looks better!!
Toomer Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 Has our Church Newpaper been delivered yet? What, The War Cry:)
Weston Saint Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 Not signed yetWhat makes you think this will happen. No one else is quoting anything about him. My contacts have heard nothing, or at least they had not yesterday! I assume this is pure speculation or do you have an "insider" who you trust?
ottery st mary Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 Is injured and not fit to play for 3-4 weeks. Whatever happened to that young talent called Pulis...Thought we were going to sign him.
Master Bates Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 What makes you think this will happen. No one else is quoting anything about him. Big Bad Bob Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 WS, Any idea if it's true that Iain Dowie is currently at SMS? Aye, he got lost finding his way out yesterday and is currently tunneling through the pipes for the undersoil heating that never was!!
Weston Saint Posted 5 January, 2009 Posted 5 January, 2009 WS, Any idea if it's true that Iain Dowie is currently at SMS? Doubt it unless Crouch is back in control
