Alain Perrin Posted 3 January, 2009 Posted 3 January, 2009 would be good for us. Solid for us in his previous stint. I seem to remember 'Jack Cork style hysteria' when we failed to renew his loan.
tpv01 Posted 3 January, 2009 Posted 3 January, 2009 will steady the ship. pitty we cant have him in there tomorrow. sounds like a direct replacement (better one) for wotton. what has he been up to since he left us. was he at rangers?
saint_stevo Posted 3 January, 2009 Author Posted 3 January, 2009 is he still at WH? At Rangers, not getting a game and will join on a contract until end of season (unsure whether loan or short term deal to be offered)
WheresRory Posted 3 January, 2009 Posted 3 January, 2009 Is he still making a living from playing professional football?
saint_stevo Posted 3 January, 2009 Author Posted 3 January, 2009 Is he still making a living from playing professional football? Congratulations on a hilarious post. No really, it was funny.
Arizona Posted 3 January, 2009 Posted 3 January, 2009 Good. Hope we get a move on ratifying Carsten Janker's transfer too.
ottery st mary Posted 3 January, 2009 Posted 3 January, 2009 He is also wanted at Watford and Charlton. Someone said he did not play much at Glasgow Rangers and has lost all his speed. To be honest wasx never really pacy. Still think he would do a job at centre back/Captain/leader type. Could probably takeover the coaching from Lowey and his little helpers, Wottey, Gorrey and JP. Could get better results anyway.
obelisk Posted 3 January, 2009 Posted 3 January, 2009 Desperation perhaps? Should raise the average age a bit.
saint_stevo Posted 3 January, 2009 Author Posted 3 January, 2009 Good. Hope we get a move on ratifying Carsten Janker's transfer too. Quite a memory you have there Arizona
DT Posted 3 January, 2009 Posted 3 January, 2009 could do worse. trouble is, Jan will play him as a lone striker...
Chorlton Posted 3 January, 2009 Posted 3 January, 2009 Is he still making a living from playing professional football? Yes, unlike Rory Allen (who I assume you are 'named' after) Crap comeback I know, but Daily CDAJFU
saint_stevo Posted 3 January, 2009 Author Posted 3 January, 2009 another lowe signing then. he is a CB. A good signing IMO
Bailey Posted 3 January, 2009 Posted 3 January, 2009 Would be a good signing IMO. He is exactly what we need right now. Someone with experience, leadership and an all round good character. Not to mention the fact that he was top draw for us whilst on loan here. Oh and can I be the first to say . . . Oooh Christian Dailly, You are the love of my life. Oh Christian Dailly, I'd let you **** my wife. Oh Christian Dailly, I want curly hair too! Here's hoping this rumour turns out to be true!
TheSaint75 Posted 3 January, 2009 Posted 3 January, 2009 Slightly worrying amount of pace we would have with him and Perry at CB, still a good experienced head in the changing room
SaintJimbo Posted 3 January, 2009 Posted 3 January, 2009 Bailey, i was just about to sing same song lol Good solid signing thuo, so lets hope its good news monday
ladysaint Posted 3 January, 2009 Posted 3 January, 2009 he is a CB. A good signing IMO I agree its a good signing but a lowe signing, just goes to show who is calling the shots as if we didnt know.
saint_stevo Posted 3 January, 2009 Author Posted 3 January, 2009 I agree its a good signing but a lowe signing, just goes to show who is calling the shots as if we didnt know. Says who?
Denzil Posted 3 January, 2009 Posted 3 January, 2009 Why don't we ask Cabbage Face if his bum chum Owen Hargreaves will sign.
saint_stevo Posted 3 January, 2009 Author Posted 3 January, 2009 Why don't we ask Cabbage Face if his bum chum Owen Hargreaves will sign. he is injured
St Marco Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Not really sure adding these old players who get injured every other week is a good thing for us right now. Dont get me wrong i think he did superb for us last year but in a year since then he has been plagued by bad injuries and i think played only 14 games in that entire 12 months or something like that. It reminds me a bit of Svensson. When working is a quality player, but sadly getting him just onto the pitch to play is very very difficult. If we could get him on a pay as you play deal then that might be alright though. Just i think if we were to give him a proper contract i cant see him playing many of the games at all, would be better to just give one of our own a chance. Cant believe it has been over a year since he was with us.
Fowllyd Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Why don't we ask Cabbage Face if his bum chum Owen Hargreaves will sign. he is injured Get well soon, Cabbage Face.
SaintDonkey Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Slightly worrying amount of pace we would have with him and Perry at CB, still a good experienced head in the changing room Would be a great signing but I agree with you about lack of pace at centre back. Maybe stick Dailly at defensive midfield and hope the calm heads around him will raise Olly's game?
Iowsaintsfan Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Last week everyone was moaning that there wasnt enogh experience at the back with Rudi likely to be pushed forward from left back, so i see this as a good thing, I liked Dailly when he was here before a strong leader and thats what we need ooh and he can tackle. OOOooooooh Christian Dailly.......................
Thedelldays Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 jesus....will deffoe kill the myth that the team is full of kids..
Master Bates Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 As hinted here a while ago, post 5 http://94.102.148.26/forum/showthread.php?t=7510 Notts Forest also want him though.
Andy_Porter Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Would be a great signing for us. I think i'd prefer to see him playing holding midfield than centre back. Pretty much a like for like replacement for Cork in how versatile he is. We definatly need more experience in the side and Dailly should provide that.
Andy_Porter Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 jesus....will deffoe kill the myth that the team is full of kids.. Aye, maybe JP and Lowe have realised we need a few more old heads around.
Thedelldays Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Aye, maybe JP and Lowe have realised we need a few more old heads around. indeed.. hope we do get him..with cork and pearce gone..we need someone..
thefuriousb Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Would be a great signing but I agree with you about lack of pace at centre back. Maybe stick Dailly at defensive midfield and hope the calm heads around him will raise Olly's game? According to those who think you have to play hoofball to get out of/stay in this league, every other team in this league plays no nonsense centre backs. we potentially pair 2 of the most experienced, (yet also comfortable on the ball) CBs who read the game well and enjoy a tackle, and loe we are worried about pace!
BotleySaint Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Sounds good. He may be 35 but as long as he is fit not injury prone.
St.Patrik Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 More rumours about more loans..... http://www.sundaymercury.net/midlands-sport/aston-villa-fc/aston-villa-fc-news/2009/01/03/aston-villa-star-on-way-to-southampton-66331-22600151/
chivvy1664 Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 I think the signing of the "Church Newspaper" is good news.
chocco boxo Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 He has no agent so fits Ruperts "cheapskate" policy!
theyin Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 there are two full England international right backs at the Dell today, one of which is going to be twiddling his fingers sometime soon. Brown might not be interested but Neville could defo do a job for us. Darn, it's not the early 80's is it? Oh for the days when an old trooper with a quality history came to play out his days on the south coast.

SaintRobbie Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Would be a step in the right direction. We'd still need 4 more MEN including a striker to survive IMHO... Oh yeah... and a MANAGER.
The9 Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 Get well soon, Cabbage Face. It's a head injury. But you'd have all noticed that.
The9 Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 According to those who think you have to play hoofball to get out of/stay in this league, every other team in this league plays no nonsense centre backs. we potentially pair 2 of the most experienced, (yet also comfortable on the ball) CBs who read the game well and enjoy a tackle, and lo we are worried about pace! And we'd be right to worry about pace. Teams with slow centre backs always get murdered by pace, whether its from decent through balls or fast players running through onto flick-ons from hoof balls on the occasions the no-nonsense CBs can't get to the header. It's not like Perry has his height in his favour either. However, frankly we're not in a position to be complaining, and Dailly's CB/defensive midfield flexibility would give us the option of playing Wotton in either of those positions too. Cork is a massive loss for us, flexible from being able to play centre/right back or defensively in the middle, as well actually being a very good player, probably consistently our best from September wherever he played.
Fan The Flames Posted 4 January, 2009 Posted 4 January, 2009 I hope the international clearance is received in time.
