No benefit to club whatsoever. But no harm I can see either.

Good luck to him.

Other than not doing what he normally does for the club during his time away. He did say during the summer that he was "renewing" for a further year, suspect in reality that he will be reducing down or even finishing his association with us next year.

I don't see how this is any different to coaches from clubs working with national teams during the international breaks. He's a highly respected hockey guy with loads of experience and success to his name. Can't help in terms of promoting our 'brand' in North America and is a one off opportunity which won't damage his work with the club, I certainly don't think it's a loss of interest in his current role, just a great opportunity to take up.

A very reasoned view. Which won't be welcomed on here - you'll need to have a bias, an agenda, predisposition to a particular viewpoint and look for things that aren't there to fit in I'm afraid.

Except that while he is away the club, the business continues, whereas coaches who work during the international break would have little to do at the clubs when all their players are away (I can only imagine you are thinking about the goalkeeping coach as I don't think any others are away during international breaks). If Ralph really does have a purpose (and I'm not saying one way or another) how can being away from that role for at least a month during the season have no impact?

I'm not sure he even does that much in all reality so the impact will be non-existent.

I always figured his role was a figure head/meet and greet type whose job was to turn up at functions and such like, make a few speech's and do a bit of media work like a university chancellor. I always assumed the actual business of running the club was left to other people. Ralph never struck me as the all powerful type chairman that are usual at other football clubs.

Apparently Ralph will be working for the devil himself:

Reindl and Satan will select the playing roster, coaching and support staff and subsequently oversee all tournament preparations and management for Team Europe, a pan-European roster of players from birth countries outside of the Czech Republic, Finland, Russia and Sweden – that is, all of the other European countries who are developing world-class hockey players in ever-increasing numbers.

Seems an odd one I cant see the benefits to the club like he says .... Trust his judgement but could do with enlightening

I was slightly worried when I saw "BREAKING NEWS: Ralph Kruger to..." in my Hooks notifications, but this could not have been less interesting, and in other things I'm doing today, I've been looking at the features in NHL 2016 on PS4, so it's not like I don't even care about ice hockey.

I always thought that Ralph was Katharina's representative and advisor. Meeting, greeting and motivational speaking are just other jobs he can do.
