jasonb Posted 4 September, 2015 Posted 4 September, 2015 (edited) Whilst listening to the new Iron Maiden LP I was browsing the net which led to me discovering that Iron Maiden singer, Bruce Dickinson now flies the Fokker DR1 and is a member of the Great War Display Team. I knew he was into his flying and pilots commercial aircraft but didn't know about this hobby. One of the teams founder members was Doug Gregory who sadly passed away earlier this year. A great obituary from the Telegraph here: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/obituaries/11568589/Doug-Gregory-pilot-obituary.html Born in Southampton and educated at Freemantle School no less... who later would turn to teaching at Noadswood School, Dibden Purlieu. I went to Applemore but wish I had gone to Noadswood now! Edited 4 September, 2015 by jasonb
Gemmel Posted 4 September, 2015 Posted 4 September, 2015 Nobody, but nobody has ever said they would have rather gone to noadswood, than Applemore. Mods - I am asumming this is an infractional, if not banning offence

Hallowed be thy plane. Doffs cap sir! Very good.
Saint137 Posted 7 September, 2015 Posted 7 September, 2015 Pretty sure headmaster of WPBS mid-80s was ex-RAF too. Taught post-war at Merryoak - loads of ex-RAF retrained as schoolmasters when they demobbed
