Van Dijk called into Holland Squad

Fantastic news seeing our new signing has been drafted into the Holland squad that plays Turkey. Seems his arrival has had positive results.

Nah, Martins Indi got a red card and is suspended for the next game so Blind called in VvD who was sent away before the game against Iceland because Blind believes Bruma (failed at every club including his current club PSV) and Riedewald (a youngster from Ajax who played as much as 5 games for his club until now...) are better. Blind is an idiot off course and I don't expect VvD to play against Turkey.

The current Dutch team doesn't belong on the EC or the WC, it's just not good enough. With Danny Blind as manager it's safe to say Holland won't manage to qualify. This idiot replaced his central forward (Huntelaar) for a very poor defender (Bruma) after Martins Indi was send away by the ref while Holland needed a win. "I was aiming for a draw" was his reply afterwards. Coward...

So, any idea who might be in line to replace Blind ?

Or, how soon will it be before we are in the market for another manager ?

Hahaha! Don't worry, Koeman detests Bert van Oostveen, the current chairman of the Dutch FA who let him down and chose for Hiddink and a stupid construction in which Blind would take over after Hiddink. I guess Koeman is laughing his ass off at the moment. Besides that, the Dutch national team needs a coach who is able to build things up from the beginning and that is not a task for Koeman who is more a "result trainer" as we say in Dutch.

Surely they have a huge amount of ex internationals they could employ? Bergkamp? Overmars? Cocu?

There are loads of ex internationals, Blind is assisted by van Basten and van Nistelrooy at the moment but they're not the right persons yet. When it comes to the younger generation Koeman would be the best choice but like I said above, he is not going to the Dutch FA as long as Bert van Oostveen is there and IMO Koeman is not the right choice at this very moment. Besides, I don't expect that Blind will be sacked for not qualifying for the EC as the game against Iceland was his first as manager. He will be sacked when he loses a couple of games in the qualification for the WC but that's still far away.

I would really prefer to be more positive, but I don't think this could have come at a worse time for the club.

these two weeks were the perfect time to get acclimated and settled to a new club/city and now he is flying off to Turkey? I know a lot of first teamers aren't on the training ground right now, but two weeks to get adjusted to his new environment and new teammates is valuable time that is now delayed.

but exciting news for VvD.

He should be back on Monday. Is that 4 days? Hardly 2 weeks away, probably only misses one training session, maybe two, and with hardly any first team players available he is not missing much really.

Plus he has already been training with Saints on Wednesday and Thursday this week.

Shocked how badly the dutch have done so far.

Signing an Icelandic NT defender would probably have more sense than spending this much money on a Dutchman who is fairly good at passing the ball and going forward but not really that good at defending ... The Netherlands are an oldboys team at an all-time low regarding new talent ... they did not qualify for the last U21 Euro finals and VvD was no success at U21 level either ... he only played 3 underwhelming games for the Dutch U21's which they lost by 3-8 score in all ... 2 lost friendlies and one being a U21 qualifier and home loss against Scotland in 2011.
