MikeSFC Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 why are they buying for the sake of it? I don't know why don't you ask them?
Appy Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 Alex Goring Crook @alex_crook 53m53 minutes ago Not anticipating any more #DeadlineDay arrivals at #saintsfc Who else do we think we'll bring in then?
SuperSAINT Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 Chelsea have had two bids rejected for PSG defender Marquinhos today, according to Sky sources. It is our understanding that the Blues have offered between 35m-55m euros for the 21-year-old centre-back.
Picard Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 A lot of clubs (west ham) are just buying players for the sake of it now. Could have done well in Europe with all those players.
SuperSAINT Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 John Percy @John__Percy West Brom have rejected a THIRD bid from Spurs for Saido Berahino today #wba #coys. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/tottenham-hotspur/11837299/Tottenham-have-23million-bid-rejected-for-Saido-Berahino.html

Give it to Ron Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 Who else do we think we'll bring in then? I was hoping for an upgrade on Davis or a proper wide man like Matt Phillips just as an option to change our play if plan A/B not working
Saint-Armstrong Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 @SouthamptonFC: Executive Director of Football Les Reed has just confirmed to @SkySportsNewsHQ that #SaintsFC's #deadlineday dealing is done.
Webby Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 Well, I think we could've done with one more, but I'm relieved it's all over.
Saint_Ash Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 @SouthamptonFC: Executive Director of Football Les Reed has just confirmed to @SkySportsNewsHQ that #SaintsFC's #deadlineday dealing is done.Booo, I like waiting to the very end to be disappointed with no other players in.
S-Clarke Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 Can I just take this moment to LOL @ spurs? They have made a right old meal of this window.
the saint in winchester Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 16:45 SAINTS SHUT UP SHOP Southampton have made the biggest signing of the day in Virgil van Dijk and director of football Les Reed has told us their business is now done.
Wes Tender Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 Not sure they do meltdowns very well: http://www.thefightingcock.co.uk/forum/threads/summer-2015-transfer-window-discussion-thread.13285/page-1428#post-860629 kingdawson:Looks like we will be battling it with West Sham, Swansea and Palace for a 7th to 10th place finish. Either he reckons that we will finish below Spurs, WH, Swansea and Palace, or he has us higher than them in 6th or above. Nice to encounter one of the more realistic Spurs fans who doesn't through some false sense of entitlement believe that they have a divine right to a top four place.
Give it to Ron Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 Well, I think we could've done with one more, but I'm relieved it's all over. Best deal of the window us keeping Mane...massive .
Bewildered Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 Spurs offer for Berahino was allegedly 5m up front and the rest in installments. I wonder why wba told them to **** off...
nta786 Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 Nathan Dyer off to Leicester. CHDAJFU? Id rather have dyer on the bench over ramirez
Batman Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 Nathan Dyer off to Leicester. CHDAJFU? Id rather have dyer on the bench over ramirez ramirez doesnt even make our bench!!!
S-Clarke Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 Talking of Gaston, I wonder what on earth is going to happen with him now? Are we actually going to use him?
nta786 Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 ramirez doesnt even make our bench!!! If there was any injuries he would! :/
Lighthouse Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 Manchester Airport having a bit of fun on Twitter @manairport 7h7 hours ago Hi @DeludedBrendan I've got 4 flights arriving from Southampton today, just in case you need them... #DeadlineDay
Bewildered Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 https://twitter.com/SBerahino/status/638744042772299776 Saido BerahinoVerified account @SBerahino Sad how i cant say exactly how the club has treated me but i can officially say i will never play Jeremy Peace. Berahino has spat his dummy out.
Saint-Armstrong Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 'I'm going on strike but I'm not telling you why'
mrfahaji Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 Maybe Berahino should call up Daniel Levy and ask him why he doesn't value him more highly? The audacity of the player to blame his own club for not accepting a derisory offer, a la Victor and Morgan and every other player that Spurs seem to want to sign, is both sickening and depressing.
S-Clarke Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 (edited) Spurs are scum. The way they act with transfers is just backhanded and dirty, their aim is to unsettle the player first. I wish the clubs could get proof and get them docked points or something, they're shocking. I think Saido has just shown his immaturity there, given the lack of proper English in the tweet. But the blame lies with Spurs, they rub the players up before they even submit a bid - and the players then expect it to happen. As we see from Saido's rant and Morgan's last year, and then Wanyama's 'uncertainty' this week. They need to have a transfer ban or something and learn how to do it properly. Yep, so frustrating that everyone can see what they're doing but doesn't seem to be any way to prove it, nor any punishment or disincentive for them to do it. Just keeping my fingers crossed that this time it all backfires horribly.

Bucks Saint Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 https://twitter.com/SBerahino/status/638744042772299776 Berahino has spat his dummy out. Assuming that is genuine, then I look forward to wba adopting the same stance with the player that they did with spuds.
angelman Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 Would love the PL clubs (outside of the top 6) to group together and help WBA stuff him in the reserves for the rest of his contract. Of course, that is overly naive but it is a problem that all of us smaller clubs face. Sky still asking whether Spurs can sign Wanyama. Reed said no serious bids received.
Saint_Abroad Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 Watching the free hour of SSN and I noticed they highlighted a recent baseball trade (transfer). Does anyone actually pay attention to that in the UK? I can't imagine that it's that popular in the UK for them to even bother. Interesting.
Monk Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 Didn't want to start a new thread but interested to hear/read your opinions; Should the transfer window be: a) Removed & allow transfers throughout the season. b) Co-inside with a beginning and end of season? (no winter window) c) Alternative d) Stay as it is Surprise no journalist has written anything but I personally feel transfer deadline day masks clubs inability to develop and produce players.
nta786 Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 TBF it looks like it has. They left it all till the last minute and are now weaker than they were last year. Whops. Are they weaker? Not denying ofc that they could be stronger. Major difference so far is that Kane's goals have just dried up.
Chris27687 Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 This car crash that is currently in process for berainho, should hopefully put Big Vic back in the right frame of mind sharpish.
Batman Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 TBF it looks like it has. They left it all till the last minute and are now weaker than they were last year. Whops. What has made them weaker?
nta786 Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 Victor Ibarbo has gone to Watford!! Anyone who plays FIFA will know what this means!!!!
dronskisaint Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 Best deal of the window us keeping Mane...massive . I agree - looking forward to seeing him scare the sh*t out of this league this year
Saint Scott Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 Not a bad window for us. Offloaded the two that wanted out, held on to Vic and Mane and have bought in some decent players. Feel we are one midfielder light though.
Dig Dig Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 What has made them weaker? They probably are on the basis that their rivals have all strengthened and they will go into the season with only one decent striker and an average midfield, both of which they are clearly trying to improve. Spurs look remarkably average IMO.
rallyboy Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 Ronald has played a blinder with Wanyama, properly reminded him who is in charge. Nice. Now Vic needs to win back the trust of the fans and play his way back into the team, once his tummy feels better. As for Spurs - unlucky, let's hope Toby proves to be as good as Lovren is without the proper set-up in front.

Window Cleaner Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 Brilliant quote from the Spurs forum... "**** you Levy you ****ing bald penny pinching sack of football club improving over 15 years ****!" I assume that's loosely translated from Urdu or something. I mean sack of football club really.
Dig Dig Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 Be a fine achievement if they finish top 6 you would think Unless Kane has a similar season, no chance.
Batman Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 Chelsea appear to have gotten away from any stick in the media. They were after mega money defenders and sighed some cheap from France and a player from reading (who has gone back out on loan)
Daft Kerplunk Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 What I want to know is will Spurs get in trouble for their activity and unsettling other club's players?
S-Clarke Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 What has made them weaker? They lost Paulinho, Capoue, Stambouli all gone from their midfield. Ok, not the best players, but I'm pretty sure they didn't shift that lot on with the intention of sticking with what they have. They look pretty light in CM. Up front is interesting, depends how Son does who is a good player. But there's a lot of pressure on Kane to produce the goods, I don't see anything else in their team to worry me.
Just a Fan Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 Listened to NOT on Sky earlier. He said that from what he had been told spurs had made only one bid for Vic and that was a few weeks ago and for less than we had paid for him.

CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 Hey - Michail Antonio makes it to the Premier League at long last. Take that Turk!
