S-Clarke Posted January 28 Posted January 28 (edited) We all know Jack is pretty limited and he really should have been replaced, but I don't like reading the personal vitriol and hate he gets all over social media to be honest. He's an honest lad and clearly cares about the club, he's not a Sulemana waiting for the next exit. Yeah for sure he's not going to be taking us to the next level, but I think he deserves a bit more respect from the fanbase than he gets. The very least you want is someone who cares, and he does. He didn’t care enough to apologise for getting sent off for pulling someone’s hair though did he? As club captain that should have been a given. 1

Be brought it on himself with his brain dead actions getting himself sent off in games when he's supposed to be setting an example. 5

Dark Munster Posted February 13 Posted February 13 So he has a new part time job working with the medical staff. Makes sense I suppose, he has plenty of experience and although he probably doesn’t need the money it does keep him busy.

But if they are fit, there is at least an opportunity to loan or sell them. Both went off at half time, Stewart didn't achieve much but Larios looked reasonably lively. If you look at potential loans and futures for them, Larios in particular might have something going for him especially with the rumblings of Sevilla looking at a possible move. Stewart, who knows, I wouldn't be surprised if 12 months down the line he announces his retirement. 1
disconnect Posted March 3 Posted March 3 Larios played another 65 mins on Fri night so that's at least promising. Stewart nowhere to be seen. 🙄

S-Clarke Posted March 22 Posted March 22 Someone needs to tell him to retire for his own benefit. He needs a new career as football isn't for him anymore. I feel sorry for him, but someone close has got to be honest with him now. 1

Club needs to be ruthless - terminate final year through frustration or offer him a % of wages at Champ level to start-up post-football career.

We should honestly just wipe our mouths and move the fuck on at this point. There's no room for sentiment here. This has been a fucking dumpster fire of a signing. The worst signing we've ever made. Ever. Has there ever been a worse one? Don't say Carrillo, he at least contributed *something*. This guy can't even last 20 minutes of reserve team game. Would the club even be insured for him at this point?... 1

Why though, how does that benefit either party in any way? He’ll most likely see out the rest of his contract here trying to get fit again and retire at the end of next season when we release him.
badgerx16 Posted Thursday at 10:51 Posted Thursday at 10:51 Why can't we just pay him Statutory Sick Pay ? 1

The benefit is *NOT* continuing to pay monstrous wages to a player that isn't going to ever play for us in any meaningful way. I thought that benefit was quite fucking obvious tbh.

I’d say the only thing that is ‘quite fucking obvious’ is that Ross Stewart is not going to just write off the last year of his wages, or even a portion thereof, for no reason. 1
trousers Posted Thursday at 15:40 Posted Thursday at 15:40 Anyone know what career the doctor who conducted Stewart's medical went into after, one assumes, he was struck off by the General Medical Council...?

With a player like that, I think we always knew it was high risk - high reward, this time it just didn’t pay off. We basically did the same thing with Danny Ings and that did pay dividends. Win some - lose some, I guess.
suewhistle Posted Thursday at 17:21 Posted Thursday at 17:21 Bloomin' 'eck, I've just seen a picture of the man himself in the latest training gallery on the OS. He was, gulp, stretching for a ball..

Ross Stewart was virtually on crutches when we signed him for £10M fucking quid. Big difference.

He wasn't injured when we signed him, Stewart was. What are you failing to understand about that?
