and I'm afraid Mr Koeman

you all completely let yourselves down.

Hoof, lose the ball, hoof, lose the ball. Honestly, that was shambolic.

Think you missed a few names off the list...

Makes you wonder if the players really want it...........sounds like a totally abject performance. Very disappointing and I would imagine Norwich will be adding to the misery at the weekend.

It all seems very flat and whatever sparked last season has vanished

Regardless of who we had out, it was a poor team selection - and, remarkably, an even worse performance.

I said we would have to get better or we were out and it turns out we managed to get even worse and we were duly dumped out of a competition that was my only interest in this season.

Now the prospect of a worse season than last beckons with a worse team. Not the clubs fault, but the very least we should have expected was Europa League group stages. Unacceptable.

Just dreadful. Words fail me. Not even an attempt at penetrating this side by keeping the ball on the deck. Just attempt after attempt after attempt after attempt at pumping the ball long.

They had clearly been instructed to do that. RK said precisely as much before the game. The game plan didn't work, no point blaming the players for following instructions.

Absolutely shocking. Pathetic. Awful line up and played tactics they would have soaked up for f*cking hours.

What were the tactics?! I can't understand.

And my word can we not cross the ball.

Anyway Norwich away....

Norwich are a very quick attacking team. We could be in for a drubbing.

It's the performance that's the most worrying thing.

I've stayed positive so far this season, but we are clearly in trouble.

If we dont hold on to Mane and Wanyama, and fail to sign at least another CB, I think a relegation battle is quite likely.

Even if that doesn't happen, RK has really got his work cut out to turn this lot back into a competitive premier league team.

Just pathetic, to come all the way from the bottom of League 1, through the leagues into Europe to go out like this. Dreadful, this isn't the team I've been watching for the last 5/6 years, this has been like watching ****ing West Ham.

Worse; at least when West Ham went out to someone from a ****e league they didn't remotely try. We TRIED to win and still lost - much more embarrassing...

Why did we wait until the last 15 minutes to bring a player on who can create chances? We needed a goal.

I don't get the tactics tonight, to be honest. From the start we played a conservative formation which was clearly in place to get it up to Pelle quickly. It wasn't working after about 20 mins and we should have changed it then. The whole setup was disjointed and not cohesive for an attacking performance. If we were going there protecting something I'd understand, but for crying out loud this is FCM, not Barcelona. We should have gone all guns. Long, Jay, Tadic, Pelle. Feels like Koeman has no trust in our back 4, so he's trying to protect them as much as he can.

It's gonna take me a long, long, long time to get over this one.

JWP should on ever start for us if we have run out of midfielders, he is f8cking gash and lets not forget in his near 80 appearances has scored 1 penalty which the team let him take to get his confidence up.

Am so underwhelmed by our start, at least when Erwin was in charge we scored 2 goals

I am afraid it is happening. We are in a relegation battle and I reckon the Norwich result will prove it.

I'm sorry but anybody that claims JWP is a set piece specialist is having a laugh. Shocking deliveries from dead balls and open play. Martina is almost as bad as mayuka/de ridder. Was like playing with 10 men for 90 minutes. Koeman has a lot to answer for, tactically our set up was ridiculous considering we needed to score. The minute tadic came on he created a chance. Lumping the ball up to Pelle is a ridiculous game plan and I can't see why koeman lowered us to that level. Having said that we've been **** since the season started. The jubilation from the end of last season to now is absolutely heart wrenching.

Feels like travelling back in time to the 90's with Branfoot as coach, with the same result. How can someone like Koeman, with his reputation and history of being a cultured player, set up a team to play like that regardless of the situation? Utterly unbelievable. All of last seasons hard work gone and it is still only August. FCM looked rubbish to me and that we could not win, or even score in open play, in 180 minutes of football shows exactly where we are as a club this season. Lousy preparation by all involved throughout the summer and into this season. Just hope there are three worse teams in the league than us.

I'm amazed by the deterioration since last season. We've lost 3 players. They didn't play every week and we always looked better than tonight.

Can't keep from thinking that something **** is going down at the club. Consistently bad performances from RK so far.

Got to blame Koeman completely. Was desperately worried when I saw the lineup to be honest, zero creativity.

Why did we spend the entire game hoofing it upfield from utterly appalling positions. I get putting crosses in from advanced positions but his plan for tonight was embarrassing. Worried me for a while that our midfield is scared stiff of turning with the ball, something that Morgan or cork could do in their sleep. Hence its a constant backwards step, Clasie better be very good in defensive mid as otherwise we will churn out the same dross. Desperately disappointed to go out of Europe, even more so as on basis of early season it's going to be a battle to stay clear of relegation rather than a top 10 season.

Well i bet £10 on getting relegated last week and got odds of 25-1, with the bookies and me at the time laughing that i was wasting my tenner. I put a bet on last season and was hoping for a similar result to last season of Saints having a good season.

I know its only early days and hopefully we will be fine but teams like Swansea , Stoke , Everton and Palace have definitely gone past us imo as they have all strengthened their squads and so far have not lost key players. I do think our board and management are sleep walking into potential disaster and can see panic buys/loans in January to save our premiership status. With such rewards for next season surely we can afford to be a little more ambitious in the transfer market now

We should be bringing in a creative midfielder and striker aswell as a defender but i won't hold my breath and only expect a defender.
