richard Posted 20 August, 2015 Posted 20 August, 2015 Hard to tell with a pixelated stream (anyone else have one with no commentary?) but I couldn't see much of a push, not from Caulker anyway he was leaning on the other guys shoulder, but it was a bit like the one that Lovren bought against B'mouth.
Diabolus Ex Machina Posted 20 August, 2015 Posted 20 August, 2015 Get in! Got them on the ropes, need to hit them again.
mulletsaint Posted 20 August, 2015 Posted 20 August, 2015 Much better start to the second half. COYS!
alpine_saint Posted 20 August, 2015 Posted 20 August, 2015 Super. Lets hope the brain fogginess has cleared in the team and we now bury these f**kers. Really hope our season has just kick-started.

Sheaf Saint Posted 20 August, 2015 Posted 20 August, 2015 Get in! Great to see Jay get his first competitive goal since his return.
Batman Posted 20 August, 2015 Posted 20 August, 2015 Good target man play from pelle that set up that penalty
Jonnyboy Posted 20 August, 2015 Posted 20 August, 2015 http://streamhd.eu/southampton-vs-midtiylland-live-stream.html Thanks
igsey Posted 20 August, 2015 Posted 20 August, 2015 Only tuned in at about 35 minutes in. Observations so far: JWP looking half-decent, Targett looks vastly improved over the Everton game, Yoshi looking good at RB (though I don't understand why Cedric isn't there). Pelle's chesting skills are ace, JRod still looks rusty, Romeu looks pretty good. Mane looks frustrated, he's trying to do too much on his own. Caulker's goal should have stood, penalty call was good work by Pelle, JWP and referee. Midgetlland are defending very dense and deep. Could be tricky to score another.
Viking Warrior Posted 20 August, 2015 Posted 20 August, 2015 Alpine . You deserve all the grief you are receiving after your comments so far . Your very brave posting what you do from a key board . Very big of you indeed . Tosser

Pretty accurate I'd say, except it took Targett about 35 minutes to warm up! And Romeu's early 40-yd shots are still going up...
SuperMikey Posted 20 August, 2015 Posted 20 August, 2015 Great save! Caulker's looked good from set-pieces so far, if him and JWP can put some work in on the training ground that can win us points this season.

Sheaf Saint Posted 20 August, 2015 Posted 20 August, 2015 So a Midtjylland player goes down injured, gets back up again and carries on, but his team-mate kicks it out anyway. The 'injured' player sits down again to wait for the physio, then we're expected to still give it back to them from the throw-in?
igsey Posted 20 August, 2015 Posted 20 August, 2015 Mane wasting good possession twice in a row with through balls that were never going to make it. Needs to run at them if he's going to drop that deep.

igsey Posted 20 August, 2015 Posted 20 August, 2015 Clearly he doesn't want that transfer and he's showing LvG that he's not consistent enough for them yet. To be fair if he were consistently as good as we know he can be I'd expect Barcelona and Juventus on the phone.
Plastic Posted 20 August, 2015 Posted 20 August, 2015 Bored now. Shlong on for pelle and mane moved central please. Also Cedrick.
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd Posted 20 August, 2015 Posted 20 August, 2015 I honestly don't understand all the hatred towards Alpine. He's entitled to his opinion and I have to say, I agree with a lot of what he says. How many clubs qualify for Europe and then flog off their best players for a second year running? Surely the idea of qualifying for European football is to show your better players that the club has real ambition. Show them intent by bringing in better players who will help to take things forward. Not Saints. They just sell & try & replace on the cheap. As a fan it's extremely disappointing to see.

BotleySaint Posted 20 August, 2015 Posted 20 August, 2015 They just sell & try & replace on the cheap. As a fan it's extremely disappointing to see. It does look that way, and I agree. You'd have thought we'd strengthen and improve for Europe. But we've become weaker.. leaving our profits largely unspent.
Plastic Posted 20 August, 2015 Posted 20 August, 2015 ? Pelle's been one of our better players. He has, but I want mane central. Moot point as long comes on for jrod
SuperMikey Posted 20 August, 2015 Posted 20 August, 2015 Arrrrrrgh target had to get that on....: target Difficult one tbf, ball was coming at him quick and if he took a touch he would've been closed down and unable to shoot. Unlucky - on another day he would hit that with the outside of his boot and that would be in the bottom corner!
JakkoUK Posted 20 August, 2015 Posted 20 August, 2015 Surprised Koeman hasn't used the option of Juanmi yet, he must be thinking why he came here.. looked decent in pre-season.

All the same, I agree it is disappointing. Nevertheless, Morgan served us well and got his deserved step up to Champs League; Clyne is a mercenary and aimed for the dollar signs. The others? Meh!

Unlucky - on another day he would hit that with the outside of his boot and that would be in the bottom corner! Yeah. Deffo. We have not quite been sharp enough in front of goal a few times. We sure have another goal in us
igsey Posted 20 August, 2015 Posted 20 August, 2015 It does look that way, and I agree. You'd have thought we'd strengthen and improve for Europe. But we've become weaker.. leaving our profits largely unspent. We were like £30m+ in debt to our owner, I'm not too surprised that we've not been big spenders, especially with the training pavilion. If we get VvD in for the ~£12m sum touted then we'll have roughly broken even this window I believe. I agree it would have been great to keep Morgan and Clyne, but Morgan clearly didn't want to be here last season let alone this one, and Clyne has shown before that he's happy to run his contract down and leave on a free. Would Clyne have won us £8m worth of points? Possibly, but I doubt it. If he didn't want to sign a new contract then he had to be sold.
