App problem on iPhone

When I try to download a new app when I press Get I get a screen asking for my Apple ID password. I am then asked via a Verification Required screen to insert my credit card security code number.

I have a feeling this is a scam. Is it and if so how do I get rid of that screen?

It looks like your Apple account has changed for some reason. You can go onto the apple site on a browser on a PC and verify your account details. Has your credit card expired or been changed recently?

Hi Whitey, I have verified my account details but will do so again. No change to credit card recently.

It would appear to be connected to your Apple account settings.

All sorted now thanks Whitey. It wasn't a scam afterall but you can never be too careful!
