SuperSAINT Posted 20 August, 2015 Posted 20 August, 2015 SPURS TARGET WANYAMA Sky sources understand Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama is a transfer target for Tottenham. We understand the 24-year-old is keen on working with former boss Mauricio Pochettino again. The Spurs boss brought Wanyama to Southampton from Celtic two years ago for a club record £12m.
S-Clarke Posted 20 August, 2015 Posted 20 August, 2015 Spurs are very silly leaving their business this late. He's clearly not going to be leaving. Nothing to see here.
BlakeySFC Posted 20 August, 2015 Posted 20 August, 2015 It will get worse before it gets better. Every season from now on. Thank goodness we have a good manager. Have to say, looking at the fixture list I'm not sure where the next points are coming from. I'm the same when the team are losing or not doing well, you look at the possible fixtures and you think where's the next point going to come from? But if Saints manage to turn a slide in form around (as we have in previous seasons) I look at the fixture list much more positively, it's all about perspective. We're in a hole at the moment, with a few rays of daylight poking through the dirt, the better we do as the season goes on the more the daylight will shine through and eventually climb out of the hole.

Chez Posted 21 August, 2015 Posted 21 August, 2015 I know some united fans are giving their club some stick for missing out on one or two signings, but no one can compete with Spurs in terms of attempting to sign players but failing to do so. I'm not just talking about Morgan, I'm talking about 20 years of being linked with big players, perhaps offering peanuts and the player going elsewhere. This will be another.
SuperSAINT Posted 21 August, 2015 Posted 21 August, 2015 I listened to the Les Reed chat with Adam Blackmore on Solent earlier...They only played a little bit of it... "The 1st team squad - we're not going to sell anybody - There are some other players who may go - but they wouldn' be current members of the 1st team squad".
Monk Posted 22 August, 2015 Posted 22 August, 2015 He's told the club today he wishes to leave according to Sky sources.
Joneth Posted 22 August, 2015 Posted 22 August, 2015 FFS! Assuming you wouldn't be posting this if it was BS. Sucks to be us.
adj250770 Posted 22 August, 2015 Posted 22 August, 2015 Breaking on SSN - Wanyama not been happy for a while? WTF????? I listened to the Les Reed chat with Adam Blackmore on Solent earlier...They only played a little bit of it... "The 1st team squad - we're not going to sell anybody - There are some other players who may go - but they wouldn' be current members of the 1st team squad".
St Lej Posted 22 August, 2015 Posted 22 August, 2015 This really is a joke now. Tell him he's staying like we did with Morgan last season. Don't see why we should be dictated to by players under contract. **** take but sadly the norm these days
St.Patrik Posted 22 August, 2015 Posted 22 August, 2015 No wonder he played like **** vs Midjylland if this is true.... His agent is probably pushing for this deal to happen as well.
Nolan Posted 22 August, 2015 Posted 22 August, 2015 No but there's a murmur this has come from Spurs! a week after Alderweireld is critical because their DM's aren't as strong? this seeming media collaboration of unsettling of players is a pain in the @$$.
Jimmy_D Posted 22 August, 2015 Posted 22 August, 2015 No but there's a murmur this has come from Spurs! They really are a despicable club if they're leaking fictitious rumours of Wanyama wanting to leave to try and unsettle him and/or the club.
stknowle Posted 22 August, 2015 Posted 22 August, 2015 He's told the club today he wishes to leave according to Sky sources. Oh FFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just saw it myself, the way they worded it was that he had been offered a new contract and turned it down saying he was interested in a move elsewhere and would be open to working with Pochettino again. Hopefully it's just a negative spin on him not signing a new contract and perhaps when asked if he would like to play for Spurs he didn't just say "No". Even more hopefully the whole story is utter bullshine. If not and it's all true - Oh FFS!!!!!
SaintSteve Posted 22 August, 2015 Posted 22 August, 2015 Bizarre if true. Not that he wants to leave, I get that, but he should have made that clear in May, and should be heading to a CL club. He'd get one next summer. Daft to go to spurs now. He did suggest this was a stepping stone at the start though. It's not any sales that bother me, it's the cheap replacing that is starting to grate. You really think Wanyama's passing ability will get him to a top four club...laughable.
Saint Charlie Posted 22 August, 2015 Posted 22 August, 2015 (edited) No wonder Koeman and many other PL Managers can't wait for the window to end. Hard to have a fully focused team when 2 or 3 of the starting XI players either want to leave or have had their head turned. Maybe a few of the players feel it hard to really progress when your best teammates are continually sold, and perhaps they don't feel the replacements are good enough to sustain last season's form? Edited 22 August, 2015 by Saint Charlie
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 22 August, 2015 Posted 22 August, 2015 Sigh. Probably not 100% true, but wouldn't be surprised. Me, I think I'm just about done with modern football.
Bewildered Posted 22 August, 2015 Posted 22 August, 2015 If it is true, then the club just have to tell him it isn't happening. Instead, Wanyama should be focusing on his performances for us because what I've seen of him so far since the season started has been far from impressive IMO.
CB Fry Posted 22 August, 2015 Posted 22 August, 2015 We'd expect £20m for him, and if it is Spurs who are interested they won't pay it. If he's going to go for £15m then that will have to be next year.
St.Patrik Posted 22 August, 2015 Posted 22 August, 2015 This season will not be as "easy" as last if this is true.... Not only a new defender is needed - a defensive midfielder as well and how easy is it to find both these when the window shuts rather soon : /
Sour Mash Posted 22 August, 2015 Posted 22 August, 2015 They really are a despicable club if they're leaking fictitious rumours of Wanyama wanting to leave to try and unsettle him and/or the club. I can't stand Spurs.
CB Fry Posted 22 August, 2015 Posted 22 August, 2015 Breaking on SSN - Wanyama not been happy for a while? WTF????? Once Les says stuff like that, it means players must agitate for a move. He will have to put in a transfer request, which will cost him money. If he starts being a di ck then we might end up selling him. But Iets see if anyone gets close to a valuation because I'm not convinced.
BotleySaint Posted 22 August, 2015 Posted 22 August, 2015 Just the kind of breaking news we need on the eve of a match.
Delboy Dave Posted 22 August, 2015 Posted 22 August, 2015 Ha! And this is why I can't believe all you mugs think ANY of the players actually give a 1% shít about Southampton FC. I said the same when Lallana Lovren etc all left last season.
Appy Posted 22 August, 2015 Posted 22 August, 2015 We aren't selling to Spurs, not in a million years.
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 22 August, 2015 Posted 22 August, 2015 Ha! And this is why I can't believe all you mugs think ANY of the players actually give a 1% shít about Southampton FC. I said the same when Lallana Lovren etc all left last season. What makes you think that people think that?
Delboy Dave Posted 22 August, 2015 Posted 22 August, 2015 What makes you think that people think that? Because you all sing and clap and spend a lot of money watching 11 millionaires who don't give a monkeys about the club
Dalek2003 Posted 22 August, 2015 Posted 22 August, 2015 Hope its not true. I bet someone makes an offer for Bournemouth's Callum Wilson...imagine how that feels. Modern football is rubbish !
SuperSAINT Posted 22 August, 2015 Posted 22 August, 2015 We aren't selling to Spurs, not in a million years. This. More importantly, they are unlikely to offer us anywhere near his asking price anyway.
Wrensup Posted 22 August, 2015 Posted 22 August, 2015 Because you all sing and clap and spend a lot of money watching 11 millionaires who don't give a monkeys about the club And you don't?
scotty Posted 22 August, 2015 Posted 22 August, 2015 Ha! And this is why I can't believe all you mugs think ANY of the players actually give a 1% shít about Southampton FC. I said the same when Lallana Lovren etc all left last season. Who said that, and when?
Saint Charlie Posted 22 August, 2015 Posted 22 August, 2015 All this crap, Fonte, Mane, Wanyama etc does somewhat make it difficult to have a positive start to the season. You need focused, committed and confident players but it seems at the moment that barely anyone in the first team is really settled, either with their place in the team/form or in some cases place at the club. Only Stekelenburg (who knows he is just here for a year) and probably Pelle fall into the settled category for me, maybe Davis too.
S-Clarke Posted 22 August, 2015 Posted 22 August, 2015 This. More importantly, they are unlikely to offer us anywhere near his asking price anyway. They might offer £1 in installments, with Dembele or another unwanted player in exchange.
MarkSFC Posted 22 August, 2015 Posted 22 August, 2015 Is it just me or are these stories "breaking" only on the eve of games?!! The window should shut the day before the season starts! If Spurs want him then tell them £30m plus Townsend but ONLY IF we can get a replacement!!
saintnicoolas Posted 22 August, 2015 Posted 22 August, 2015 If we had enough depth to let Victor go we would.....but we don't so we won't....We made Morgan stay a further season and we we do the same with Victor...besides my view is that the relationship we have with Spurs is not good- Poaching our manager and Mitchell, unsettling schnederlin and then poaching toby from under our noses.
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 22 August, 2015 Posted 22 August, 2015 He's **** any way - to be a good footballer you need to pass and shoot, he can do neither, plus he has little football intelligence. Another reason I wish we held on to Cork
S-Clarke Posted 22 August, 2015 Posted 22 August, 2015 He's **** any way - to be a good footballer you need to pass and shoot, he can do neither, plus he has little football intelligence. Another reason I wish we held on to Cork He clearly isn't, but never mind.
Monk Posted 22 August, 2015 Posted 22 August, 2015 I can confirm that this story has 110% come from inside the Spurs camp. Regardless of substance, Spurs have leaked this.
Saint Charlie Posted 22 August, 2015 Posted 22 August, 2015 Also an element of once you let so many go, and teammates see them all playing in bigger games for better teams, then you can see why others want a piece of that, even potentially Fonte. Do you think Wanyama sees our signings this summer and feels excited that we can better last year? Not that it makes a difference to us wanting to sell, but certainly could make him feel more like this season could be a little wasted in his career, as he knows he will go next summer anyway.
Roger Posted 22 August, 2015 Posted 22 August, 2015 He's **** any way - to be a good footballer you need to pass and shoot, he can do neither, plus he has little football intelligence. Another reason I wish we held on to Cork You have lost it Steve recently!
Roger Posted 22 August, 2015 Posted 22 August, 2015 I can confirm that this story has 110% come from inside the Spurs camp. Regardless of substance, Spurs have leaked this. So is it not true mate? Any news on van diyk need cheering up!
Saint Charlie Posted 22 August, 2015 Posted 22 August, 2015 You have lost it Steve recently! It's Ron!
