manina-pub Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 Apologies for posted elsewhere but was wondering what your thoughts were on this: Above 25k = Real good turnout 20k -25k = About ok 15k - 20k = Disappointing Sub 15k = Forum meltdown Not sure if ticket office have released sales numbers so far ...
marc_saint Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 Looking at the online ticket section the Itchen and Kingsland seem to be pretty full apart from single seats. Chapel end isn't looking that full especially round by the family centre which is a surprise as tickets are only £1. Northam is looking full until you come along to blocks 44 and 45. Midjylland are expecting 200-300 (plus whatever Brentford end up selling for them!) I reckon it'll end up at around 25k
alehouseboys Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 23,000. If it's as low as that than I can see this being the last time they'll cut ticket prices for these games...and I wouldn't blame them. Would still expect it to be 25,000+ come Thursday.
marc_saint Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 Block 1/2 = 3 Block 3 = 40 Block 4 = 26 Block 5 = 9 Block 6 = Sold out Block 7 = Sold out Block 8 = Sold out Block 9 = 14 Block 10 = 18 Block 11 = 81 Block 12 = 119 310 available in the Itchen (not including hospitality) Got bored now, anyone want to do the Chapel?
ant Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 Well we got just under 31,000 for the home leg against Vitesse despite it being 'sold out' (due to lack of hospitality sales etc.) Even with 1,000 less away fans, some of our lot not being able to afford to consistently pay for Thursday/Sunday matches (and whatever other excuses you care for) we've still got to be aiming for 27-28k, surely?
Whitey Grandad Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 Under 27,000 is pretty embarrassing. Why? Not to me it isn't.
saint97 Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 It's £15 to see our second game in Europe for ages.
Whitey Grandad Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 It's £15 to see our second game in Europe for ages. In the middle of the holiday season.
marc_saint Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 In the middle of the holiday season. But also school holidays and its only a quid to take kids in!
Patrick Bateman Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 Under 27,000 is pretty embarrassing. Why is it 'embarrassing'? There are bigger things to be embarrassed about!
Batman Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 not sure why others 'demand' that this sells out. getting 28k or so v a danish side is pretty good going
niceandfriendly Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 Under 27,000 is pretty embarrassing. But if you're there, where's the embarrassment? Or are you embarrassed for those who don't turn up? My advice, don't be.
Whitey Grandad Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 But also school holidays and its only a quid to take kids in! A lot of people are away on holiday.

Personally, below 25k = poor 25k-28k = disappointing 28-30k = a bit less disappointing above 30k = what it should be Ticket prices are cheap, so that can't be used as an excuse. School holidays, so that's not an excuse for not bringing kids who most likely weren't even alive when we were last in Europe.

I bet they would if it was a Champions League qualifier! Don't think the quality of the Midjylland helps but, I go to watch Saints not who they're playing. What others do mind is up to them.
saint97 Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 Why is it 'embarrassing'? There are bigger things to be embarrassed about! Embarrassing as usually the excuse is people can't afford it. Now it's people are on holiday. It's £15 for an adult and a £1 for children.
The9 Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 Usually the reason is that people are on holiday, I'm not really at a loss to work out why people (many of whom don't live in the area) and especially people with kids, struggle to attend a Thursday night game that is an additional cost. Few people are going to be taking their kids to a midweek match holidays or not, and lots of others will struggle to arrive in time for kick off. Plus we're currently selling tickets to ALL of Norwich, Man U, Swansea and Midtjylland home and West Brom and Midtjylland away, that's a lot of expense for people who don't have STs or do and have paid for Vitesse or Midtjylland already this month. We'd also have Watford away if it hadn't already sold out.
Window Cleaner Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 As I see it we got a good crowd for Vitesse because it was a: a bit of a novelty and b:they brought a good number of a tidy few. This game is less attractive and the result should really be a bit of a foregone conclusion so fewer people are interested.
Saint IQ Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 Why is it 'embarrassing'? There are bigger things to be embarrassed about! Looking at his previous posts he seems embarrassed with everything from this to Targett being seen as a talent to a fun jokey "Southampton in Europa" song for charity. What is embarrasing is people who say that things are embarrasing all the time when there really is no reason for the person to be embarrassed from such things out of their control.

You need to understnd that if somebody doesn't want to go then that is there choice, there is no need to give a reason or invent an excuse.

Tom & Gerry Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 I'm always surprised at the number of people who do attend football matches, and even more those who having spent all that money leave before the end. So if people don't want to turn out on a Thursday night to watch a team they've never heard of it's only what I would expect. No doubt my expectations will be exceeded.
angelman Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 Even if they're in Spain or somewhere? What - we only have a max of 32k supporters (less the away allocation) so that others cannot step in to make up for those away on holiday? The Vitesse game had all sorts of new faces around me (and one was particularly welcome as she was quite pretty although spent most of the game on her mobile).
nick1579 Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 To my mind this game's much bigger as we're one step closer to making it through to the Group Stage proper. That's why I'm going but didn't to Vitesse (well, that and I'm slightly more organised now). if we get through to the play-off stage I'd hope to be there too (and I live in Ireland!).
VectisSaint Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 if we get through to the play-off stage I'd hope to be there too (and I live in Ireland!). This is the play-off stage.

School holidays, so that's not an excuse for not bringing kids who most likely weren't even alive when we were last in Europe. The attendance for the Vitesse game was 30,850. Midtjylland will only be bringing around 300 or so over, so that's around 1100 fewer, so already pushes the comparable attendance down below your "what it should be" level.
kwsaint Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 Anything less than 32,000 and we should seriously be thinking about Koeman going. *I've been on this forum too long. I've turned into a troll.
Whitey Grandad Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 There are only 36,000 seats for the final.

marc_saint Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 There are only 36,000 seats for the final. Probably around 7-8000 tickets for Saints fans
Window Cleaner Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 Probably around 7-8000 tickets for Saints fans But as we're past experts at snaffling up most of the independant share that'll make 29000 or so for us and 7000 for the opponents won't it.

maysie Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 All of them things are embarrassing though. Especially Targett. Embarassing is getting a boner on a tube or, ****ing yourself in a meeting. What isn't embarassing are the talents of a young player, a novelty song or the amount of people that attend a football game.

angelman Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 I remember getting a boner on the tube and quite liked it that the bird opposite thought I was some sort of John Holmes clone.
kpturner Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 Looking forward to the away leg - tickets in the main stand and a Friday night in Copenhagen

Sour Mash Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 (edited) Just had a quick look on-line and sales look pretty good, I reckon it'll be close to 28k, which is decent considering there'll be hardly any away fans. Edited 18 August, 2015 by Sour Mash
Whitey Grandad Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 I'm not going simply because I can't be assed. Plus I can put my feet up and watch on BT Sport HD. Also the beers in my fridge aren't £4. No beers inside the ground.
SO16_Saint Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 It's £15 to see our second game in Europe for ages. And potentially our last home game in ages
