Saint Garrett Posted 18 August, 2015 Share Posted 18 August, 2015 They played really well last night Bournemouth, were unlucky, but can see that being a regular thing this season. Playing well having a real go, and not getting the points. Will be interesting to see if they score enough this season to stay up. Will be a really tough game against them I feel. This was the case of Leicester last season ( until their great escape): always doing reasonably well but rarely coming away with points. At some point it becomes a negative spiral if they do not get a few wins...
SotonCherries Posted 18 August, 2015 Share Posted 18 August, 2015 Nice to read all your loving comments on here fellas! The reason you heard all our various noise, and are able to jump onto the few bits that related to Saints due to all the Saints connections on the pitch, is because Anfield is apparently silent. We may poke fun at Lallana (can't even take a corner without falling over, LOL) but we like him because he earned his way up the leagues and earned AFCB a **** load of money. We love Boruc, what a character and what a goalkeeper. Surman is a Saints product and very important to us. We're not trying to be Pompey guys, chill out about it. I've certainly felt a lot more heat from you lot since our promotion as I go about general life in Soton. If you want to call us bucket rattlers or Bompey or whatever, that's football isn't it. We need to do a little more in the final third, but our defence is holding up surprisingly well so far considering it's the same back 4 we had in League One. We'll stick at it, it's early days at the moment. Maybe it'll start to click or maybe we'll fall just short - not going to worry too much about it, this season is a bonus. They played really well last night Bournemouth, were unlucky, but can see that being a regular thing this season. Yes indeed. I feared this before the season and so far it's been true. JackanorySFC Posted 18 August, 2015 Share Posted 18 August, 2015 Always liked Bournemouth, lovely town habited by nice people with a great beach and hot women. Wish them well this season, as long as it's at least one place below us. They don't have a rival and a few of their fans are trying to manufacture one, can't blame them I suppose as our support stretches well into their territory. Unfortunately my hate is 100% saved for the skates. Yeah I dislike Spurs and Liverpool right now for a variety of (footballing) reasons, but Pompey - Nah, that's about more than football. 2 working class Port cities that complete for industry, commerce and investment inhabited by people that simply don't like/ trust each other. It's been around for generations and will stay around, even if they are lower league mediocrity right now one day we'll play the ******s again . SotonCherrie, it seems 90% of the comments on here are positive about Bournemouth, BTW I find "Bompey" as cringeworthy as "Spuds", "Wet Spam" and "Liverfool". You'll never have a problem being a Bournemouth fan in Southampton, no matter how well you do. If you are into that sort of thing though feel free to but a Pompey top on and take a walk up the Mutant Mile in Shirley to see what a rivalry actually feels like ;-)
