yellow&blue Posted 6 August, 2015 Posted 6 August, 2015 Here we go again...........another defeat predicted....... "Steve McClaren is a very good coach and I am expecting Newcastle to have a very good season after their recent problems. They have better players, there will be a better atmosphere and they will get better results. Southampton have a lot to live up to after the way they performed in Ronald Koeman's first year in charge. They have lost a couple more key players in Morgan Schneiderlin and Nathaniel Clyne but I would not be surprised to see them end up in the top half of the table again" Lawro's prediction: 2-1
yellow&blue Posted 6 August, 2015 Author Posted 6 August, 2015 I meant Lawro watch.....bloody spell check.....can someone please amend the heading?
so22saint Posted 6 August, 2015 Posted 6 August, 2015 Leave it as Laura so I can think of Hed Kandi when i read it
hasper57saint Posted 6 August, 2015 Posted 6 August, 2015 Don't take any notice of the pillock. Saints will win on Sunday.
the saint in winchester Posted 6 August, 2015 Posted 6 August, 2015 Good good. Every time Lawro says we will lose, so we win. 0-2. Pelle Mane.
Picard Posted 6 August, 2015 Posted 6 August, 2015 Anyone who thinks they are better than Lawro can compete in the BBC Predictor game. http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/predictor
Redslo Posted 6 August, 2015 Posted 6 August, 2015 Anyone who thinks they are better than Lawro can compete in the BBC Predictor game. http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/predictor That's not fair. You have to predict the whole season whereas Lawro gets to go week by week.
Picard Posted 7 August, 2015 Posted 7 August, 2015 That's not fair. You have to predict the whole season whereas Lawro gets to go week by week. Not true! You can modify your predictions up to kick off time. Go on Redslo, you can beat Lawro with your method.
Redslo Posted 7 August, 2015 Posted 7 August, 2015 Not true! You can modify your predictions up to kick off time. Go on Redslo, you can beat Lawro with your method. Thanks for pointing that out. I will see what happens.
naiser Posted 7 August, 2015 Posted 7 August, 2015 How can he continue that prediction? F***ing hell.
CB Fry Posted 7 August, 2015 Posted 7 August, 2015 Only one thing predictable about this thread. Thanks for being there, everyone.
mattsbignose Posted 7 August, 2015 Posted 7 August, 2015 Usual nonsense from Lawro. Keep it tight for the first half an hour, those fantastic Geordie supporters will soon turn on their team and hit them on the break. 0-2. We have had two semi competitive games winning 5-0 over two legs in EL qualifying and they tuned up by losing to York City. The EL may take it's toll later in the season but for now, I would say we are more match sharp then they are.

Hamilton Saint Posted 7 August, 2015 Posted 7 August, 2015 This is good news. Don't we tend to lose whenever he predicts us to win!!
Hamilton Saint Posted 7 August, 2015 Posted 7 August, 2015 Graeme Swann, Lawro's opponent this week, is a Newcastle fan. He says: "It's a good job it is not at Southampton because we always lose there but teams don't come to St James' Park and come away with anything. 2-0". I suppose he missed last year's game: Newcastle 1 vs 2 Southampton.
trousers Posted 13 August, 2015 Posted 13 August, 2015 http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/33890961 2-0 to Saints
Dark Munster Posted 13 August, 2015 Posted 13 August, 2015 "Last weekend, Lawro got two correct results from 10 Premier League games, with no perfect scores." Somewhere out there is a monkey with a typewriter also having a good laugh.
trousers Posted 28 August, 2015 Posted 28 August, 2015 Saints win.... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34030774 Southampton v Norwich (13:30 BST) Norwich have picked up four points from their first three games and, apart from a bad spell in their opening-day defeat by Crystal Palace, they have looked pretty solid. Southampton have not really got going yet, and playing in the Europa League again on Thursday will not help them this week either. They have got the last few days of the transfer window to get through too, but I think things will be looking up at St Mary's pretty soon. Lawro's prediction: 2-1
Brave Sir Robin Posted 28 August, 2015 Posted 28 August, 2015 When we think we'll win, he thinks we'll lose, when we think we'll lose, he thinks we'll win. At least he's consistent!

This game has 0-0 written all over it ... will be a cracker!

Lawro's prediction: 2-1 What I never understand with Lawro is that what he writes for each match hardly matches up with his scoreline prediction. That prediction says to me that Norwich have been good, we've been ****, and the fact that we played Thursday is further going to cause us a problem this weekend. Then he goes for a 2-1 win to us. Odd. Bout time the BBC handed the predictor job to a pundit a bit more relevant IMO. Edited 28 August, 2015 by bpsaint

norwaysaint Posted 17 September, 2015 Posted 17 September, 2015 He's at it again, why does he always have to be so negative?
whelk Posted 30 October, 2015 Posted 30 October, 2015 Just looking at his overall prediction table . He's not predicted defeat for WBA this season. Imagine there must be thread on West Ham's forum spitting feathers. And Watford's
hasper57saint Posted 30 October, 2015 Posted 30 October, 2015 Come on fellow Saints. If I could predict the scores I'd be rich.Ignore the pillock!

Dark Munster Posted 30 October, 2015 Posted 30 October, 2015 [h=3]Southampton v Bournemouth (16:00 GMT)[/h]Southampton are on a good run and are steadily climbing the table after a slow start and it is difficult to see Bournemouth upsetting them here. The problem for the Cherries is that they are racking up defeat after defeat but they are not going to change the way they play. Away from home, I don't know where the goals are going to come from for Eddie Howe's team and, defensively, they are not good enough to keep a clean sheet. Lawro's prediction: 2-0 Sam's prediction: Bournemouth to bounce back from a couple of heavy defeats. 1-2
simo Posted 14 May, 2016 Posted 14 May, 2016 Well he has us comfortably beating palace and wham drawing so would make us 6th by my reckoning?
Dark Munster Posted 14 May, 2016 Posted 14 May, 2016 "Steve McClaren is a very good coach and I am expecting Newcastle to have a very good season after their recent problems."

You can't knock him for that .... Newcastle have had a great season ...... if you are a Mackem!! A group of Sunderland fans have paid for a banner reading "Auf Wiedersehen Prem" to be flown over St James' Park during Newcastle's game against Tottenham on Sunday Edited 15 May, 2016 by ericofarabia
UpweySaint Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36976438 Not sure if this is a good omen or not ... Lawro has us winning 2-1, 'The Blossoms' (a band) fancy us to get spanked 3-1!

I think someone should start the Phil Merson and Lawro Watch 2016/17 thread, as those two are the major ones who do predictions
UpweySaint Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 I think someone should start the Phil Merson and Lawro Watch 2016/17 thread, as those two are the major ones who do predictions We could just do a general pundit predictions thread?
trousers Posted 26 August, 2016 Posted 26 August, 2016 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37138469 Southampton v Sunderland What I have seen of Southampton so far does not change my opinion that this is going to be their hardest season for a while. I know their recruitment is very good but if you keep selling all of your best players then, sooner or later, it catches up with you. As far as this game is concerned, I'm going for a draw, which will be a much better result for Sunderland. They are still trying to strengthen, especially in midfield. Lawro's prediction: 1-1
ErwinK1961 Posted 26 August, 2016 Posted 26 August, 2016 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37138469 I used to quite like Laura Trott... not anymore.
