TheMidfieldGeneral Posted 12 August, 2015 Posted 12 August, 2015 Clasie Out for at least 4 weeks. Romeu a very decent replacement.
James Posted 12 August, 2015 Posted 12 August, 2015 Clasie Out for at least 4 weeks. Romeu a very decent replacement. According to who?
sotonjoe Posted 12 August, 2015 Posted 12 August, 2015 I was trying to be kind..... At least he won't get donkey noises like Pelle did beginning of last season. Give the fans some credit, Pelle was getting those about two thirds of the way through last season as well. He's no Rickie Lambert you know.
Saint Charlie Posted 12 August, 2015 Posted 12 August, 2015 Clasie Out for at least 4 weeks. Romeu a very decent replacement. Shame if true, even more so as he needs to be training to get in the shape needed to have an impact in the PL.
Saint Charlie Posted 13 August, 2015 Posted 13 August, 2015 Echo says Saints hope he trains today and if so should be available Sat.
Wade Garrett Posted 13 August, 2015 Posted 13 August, 2015 Koeman: "Out for 2 to 3 weeks" Not a great start.
Jesse Pingman Posted 13 August, 2015 Posted 13 August, 2015 Shame really, bad way to start his PL tenure. I hardly recall him ever being injured before though, so this is new. Then again, a quick google of Clasie and Memphis shows a pic of both on a holiday, and the comparison is unreal . It really shows Clasie needs to beef up a lot if he wants to compete in the PL. So maybe this has all to do with him not being used to the physical aspect of English football.

Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd Posted 13 August, 2015 Posted 13 August, 2015 Recovered from his hamstring but had to go off during the U21's game with a ankle ligament injury.
VectisSaint Posted 13 August, 2015 Posted 13 August, 2015 Echo on the ball as usual Pretty obvious to anyone watching the u21 game on Monday. Don'the local rags cover these games? He didn't look fully fit before the Citeh guy accidently took him out anyway.
Pancake Posted 13 August, 2015 Posted 13 August, 2015 Got a really funny feeling we might have another Gaston on our hands. Which is a shame as I really like the look of Clasie and want him to be a star for us.
Saint Charlie Posted 13 August, 2015 Posted 13 August, 2015 Got a really funny feeling we might have another Gaston on our hands. Which is a shame as I really like the look of Clasie and want him to be a star for us. One clear difference is obvious: Clasie's attitude miles better. He is a fighter. Also nothing you can really do when someone falls on your leg like the City guy did.
Jesse Pingman Posted 13 August, 2015 Posted 13 August, 2015 You mean chelsea and city's kids... Sadly it wouldn't surprise me if even they were in better physical shape than the average Eredivisie player. But I was referring to training. I'm sure the difference is very noticable not just on the pitch but on the training field as well. Same happened with Marco van Ginkel, came to Chelsea as a skinny lad straight from the Eredivisie and immediately picked up an injury.
Shance Posted 13 August, 2015 Posted 13 August, 2015 Got a really funny feeling we might have another Gaston on our hands. Which is a shame as I really like the look of Clasie and want him to be a star for us. What just because he's picked up a couple of injuries?
Dalek2003 Posted 14 August, 2015 Posted 14 August, 2015 Clasie could easily be one of the most influential players in the team if he did not spend so much time in the treatment room.
VectisSaint Posted 14 August, 2015 Posted 14 August, 2015 What just because he's picked up a couple of injuries? Think a few people should actually look at what happened to Clasie on Monday night. Not many players would have come out of an accidental incident like that without a similar problem, nothing to do with fitness, and nothing to do with his hammy either, just pure bad luck. All that said, he did not look anywhere near PL fit before he got injured on Monday. He will be though.
whelk Posted 15 August, 2015 Posted 15 August, 2015 Got a really funny feeling we might have another Gaston on our hands. Which is a shame as I really like the look of Clasie and want him to be a star for us. That's the spirit. He's had a fair crack to prove himself after all
jawillwill Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 On the Matchday Uncovered video he is seen in a cast and on crutches pre-match. Looks longer than 3 week injury to me...
Lallana's Left Peg Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 On the Matchday Uncovered video he is seen in a cast and on crutches pre-match. Looks longer than 3 week injury to me... As I said at the time, his foot was planted and a Man City player rolled into his leg - his foot stayed where it was and his knee buckled a bit. It's ligaments / tendons. No-one knows the extent of the damage but it's not something that you come back from in a week or two. He can likely move and run ok but it's the twisting and turning that is an issue and that is why his leg will be set in a cast so it can't move and no strain can be placed on the damaged ligaments / tendons.
Saint Charlie Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 Times today says Hull and Derby want Reed on loan. Surely nothing happens til Clasie is back.
bowers-sfc Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 Reed expects and wants a move to a club where he will get game time. He actually said he doesn't see much of a future here currently. Thought it was weird as he recently signed a new contract didn't he?

Thought it was weird as he recently signed a new contract didn't he? Disturbing news about "the best player ever to come out of our academy" Koeman just doesn't seem to rate him.

Lallana's Left Peg Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 So how long before he is ready to come back from this ? It depends on the extent of the damage and how quick his body is at recovering. It could be 3 weeks or it could be 3 months. Remember the Lallana saga from Christmas 2012? No-one knew how long he would be out for.

Remember the Lallana saga from Christmas 2012? No-one knew how long he would be out for. Watching him in the game before he was injured he was also clearly not fully fit anyway and still some way off being ready for the PL. Even when his injury is recovered he will still be 2 or 3 weeks or so off being available for PL action IMHO.
Dan Johnson Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 I'd imagine both clasie and bertrand are aiming for the games after the international break
Andy Durman Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 Clasie has a long way to go to achieve the condition required to play in the Premier League. Not saying he won't achieve, but there is no quick fix to achieve condition. Look at Ramirez
Batman Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 Clasie has a long way to go to achieve the condition required to play in the Premier League. Not saying he won't achieve, but there is no quick fix to achieve condition. Look at Ramirez you saying we may have made a mistake signing him? we needed Clasie to be pretty much good to go from near on the start of the season. not take half of it to get fit/up to speed
Turkish Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 Reed expects and wants a move to a club where he will get game time. He actually said he doesn't see much of a future here currently. Thought it was weird as he recently signed a new contract didn't he? Did he tell you this when you served him at the drive through, or did you fall on your fat arse in front of him and he helped you get back on your flabby legs?
VectisSaint Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 you saying we may have made a mistake signing him? we needed Clasie to be pretty much good to go from near on the start of the season. not take half of it to get fit/up to speed What we need and the reality are two very different things. Clasie's pre-season has been messed up, what with the transfer, his new offspring, his pre-season injury and then the injury in the u21 game which was being used to work up his fitness. Not his fault and not a mistake, just what happens sometimes. He will be good eventually but don't expect to see much of him before mid/end September. Unfortunately Bertrand is not much ahead of him, if at all.
St Chalet Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 I think the difference between Clasie and Gaston is attitude. The former will be just fine whilst the later is clearly a bum.
bowers-sfc Posted 18 August, 2015 Posted 18 August, 2015 Nah he actually told me this in the hair dressers. Nice one though I bet you feel well 'ared behind a computer screen. Drop me a DM on Twitter instead? @SfcCrBowerz

Batman Posted 19 August, 2015 Posted 19 August, 2015 physio room has clasie back on 30 Aug (while bertrand is now 12 sept on there )
Appy Posted 19 August, 2015 Posted 19 August, 2015 physio room has clasie back on 30 Aug (while bertrand is now 12 sept on there ) You know they just guess right?
Saint Charlie Posted 19 August, 2015 Posted 19 August, 2015 After the Norwich game there is an Intl break anyway, so if we can get Bertrand, Clasie and the new CB ready for WBA on 12th Sept then thats fine. Will be a shame if we don't pickup decent points from the next two games as on paper our start was kind.
SuperSAINT Posted 28 September, 2015 Posted 28 September, 2015 Any word on if he'll feature for the U21's tonight?
Lallana's Left Peg Posted 28 September, 2015 Posted 28 September, 2015 Any word on if he'll feature for the U21's tonight? Wouldn't be surprised to see him play 45mins, especially as it is at home.
SuperSAINT Posted 28 September, 2015 Posted 28 September, 2015 Wouldn't be surprised to see him play 45mins' date=' especially as it is at home.[/quote'] Yeah, I believe this would mirror how we handled Bertrand too? Plays some minutes 7 days after his return to training.
philelec Posted 28 September, 2015 Posted 28 September, 2015 Is the U21's game being shown on line tonight?
suewhistle Posted 28 September, 2015 Posted 28 September, 2015 Quote from the OS: 'The game against Sunderland kicks off at 7pm BST and will be shown live on Southampton’s official YouTube channel.'
