Away kit is horrendous, seems others agree!

Have you actually seen it in anything other than that photo you've posted (one that has filters and photoshop effects on it)?

I think its actually looks pretty good in a match...

yes watched the match, think it is ugly & anonymous and just blends into the pitch

Would you call it our "traditional" away kit now MLG?

Personally, I really like it, bit different and liked the sash design....never been a fan of our yellow and blue combos we've had over the years....only concern, as per United's grey kit and England's Euro '96 one is whether players can always be seen well enough!!

"Traditional kit" is a nonsense for the vast majority of football teams. If we stick with green for a number of years then fans will eventually refer to it as being traditional and be up in arms if we move to anything else.

Traditional tends to be for home kits. I think everyone would moan If year after year the kits were the same traditional colour and style and only the slightest tweak.

All for the away kit being a little different each year.

When I first saw it I thought it was ok.

Seeing it first hand, it's horrible. Not a fan of the shade of green at all.

Also, and I'm sure the club must have researched this so it's probably not a factor, but the shirt does seem to blend in to the grass, it seems to make it more difficult than it could be to instantly pick out a player (at least it did for me).

Agree with this.

Not a patch on the last few away kits IMO and just looks vile. A darker green (if it has to be green) would be better.

It should be yellow and blue. End of.

yup.

third kit can be any old colour, but Yellow and blue for the main away kit.

Would you think that had we not won the 1976 Cup Final in yellow and blue? If so... why? As we didn't always have yellow & blue away kits from 1885 to 1976.

IIRC our away kit prior to the 1970's used to be back and gold.

The plan though is to confuse the opposition so that Graziano can sneak in to the penalty area unnoticed, as if by stealth.

The green makes commercial sense as it can be worn in 18 of the 19 away match (only clashes with Norwich). The more its worn the more sales it will get.

To be fair, I think Watford and Norwich aside, that rings true for a yellow kit too.

And I don't know about marketing but is that true - that something worn more gets purchased more? I personally think something nice would be more likely purchased.

Yes, it was Yellow( Gold ) and Black for a long time, the colours of the hampshire regiment I think.

We did win our one major trophy wearing a variation of yellow and Black, so either of those combos would do me fine.

Yellow being the colour we won our one major trophy in seems pretty compelling reason to stick to that colour,to me.

as I said, the third kit could be any colour , such as this seasons. That would allow for plenty of variety.

I thought you wore the home kit unless there was a clash?

What were they thinking, the ugliest kit ever!

Um, why start a thread when there's already a large thread discussing kits, AND not offer any evidence that "others agree"?

Personally I love it, it's different, it's unique (albeit the same colours as Swansea's away this season, different style), and it stands out.

It was a very amber-gold "yellow", much darker than the yellow we wore fairly regularly after 1976.

I really like the colour match with the navy border on the muvi advert as well - though I dislike the white numbers on the back of the shirts, I assume we went with those thanks to the wacky UEFA number contrast rules I posted the other day, because there's really no reason not to have navy numbers on them.

I genuinely don't know where this crappy "can't see it" rubbish is coming from either, no problems at all with the colour, completely different shade of green from the grass. We're also very unlikely to play against a backdrop of green shirts which it could blend into, and seem to have no problem at all wearing mostly red in front of an entire stadium of people wearing pretty much the same thing. Anyone would think the background blurs out compared to nearby teammates or something...
