Matthew Le God Posted 3 August, 2015 Posted 3 August, 2015 Have you actually seen it in anything other than that photo you've posted (one that has filters and photoshop effects on it)? I think its actually looks pretty good in a match...
Mr X Posted 3 August, 2015 Author Posted 3 August, 2015 Have you actually seen it in anything other than that photo you've posted (one that has filters and photoshop effects on it)? I think its actually looks pretty good in a match... yes watched the match, think it is ugly & anonymous and just blends into the pitch
CB Fry Posted 3 August, 2015 Posted 3 August, 2015 Have you actually seen it in anything other than that photo you've posted (one that has filters and photoshop effects on it)? I think its actually looks pretty good in a match... Would you call it our "traditional" away kit now MLG?
raucebysaint Posted 3 August, 2015 Posted 3 August, 2015 i think it looks pretty good, makes a change from yellow..
Viking Saint Posted 3 August, 2015 Posted 3 August, 2015 Personally, I really like it, bit different and liked the sash design....never been a fan of our yellow and blue combos we've had over the years....only concern, as per United's grey kit and England's Euro '96 one is whether players can always be seen well enough!!
Matthew Le God Posted 3 August, 2015 Posted 3 August, 2015 Would you call it our "traditional" away kit now MLG? "Traditional kit" is a nonsense for the vast majority of football teams. If we stick with green for a number of years then fans will eventually refer to it as being traditional and be up in arms if we move to anything else.
Colinjb Posted 3 August, 2015 Posted 3 August, 2015 If we stick with green then fans will eventually refer to it as being traditional and be up in arms if we move to anything else. Naturally that will not be happening.
SaintLiam Posted 3 August, 2015 Posted 3 August, 2015 I like it. As long as it's not blue, I don't have a problem with it.
EBS1980 Posted 3 August, 2015 Posted 3 August, 2015 Traditional tends to be for home kits. I think everyone would moan If year after year the kits were the same traditional colour and style and only the slightest tweak. All for the away kit being a little different each year.
The Kraken Posted 3 August, 2015 Posted 3 August, 2015 When I first saw it I thought it was ok. Seeing it first hand, it's horrible. Not a fan of the shade of green at all. Also, and I'm sure the club must have researched this so it's probably not a factor, but the shirt does seem to blend in to the grass, it seems to make it more difficult than it could be to instantly pick out a player (at least it did for me).

Agree with this. Not a patch on the last few away kits IMO and just looks vile. A darker green (if it has to be green) would be better.
teamsaint Posted 3 August, 2015 Posted 3 August, 2015 It should be yellow and blue. End of. yup. third kit can be any old colour, but Yellow and blue for the main away kit.
Matthew Le God Posted 3 August, 2015 Posted 3 August, 2015 It should be yellow and blue. End of. yup. third kit can be any old colour, but Yellow and blue for the main away kit. Would you think that had we not won the 1976 Cup Final in yellow and blue? If so... why? As we didn't always have yellow & blue away kits from 1885 to 1976. IIRC our away kit prior to the 1970's used to be back and gold.
SNSUN Posted 3 August, 2015 Posted 3 August, 2015 I like it. Has the sash and isn't a bad shade of green. Could be much worse.

The plan though is to confuse the opposition so that Graziano can sneak in to the penalty area unnoticed, as if by stealth.
saintquin Posted 3 August, 2015 Posted 3 August, 2015 Have you actually seen it in anything other than that photo you've posted (one that has filters and photoshop effects on it)? I think its actually looks pretty good in a match... Well Wanyamma seems to like Fonte in the away kit!
aintforever Posted 3 August, 2015 Posted 3 August, 2015 It is grim. But think the Ad makes it look worse than it is with all that green slime/smoke/mould effect whatever it is.
Mowgli Posted 3 August, 2015 Posted 3 August, 2015 Nice kit. Not the sort of thing you would want to buy but looks nice and fresh. I can see why armchair fans would not see it at its best on dodgy Internet streams.
doddisalegend Posted 3 August, 2015 Posted 3 August, 2015 Each to their own I quite like it because it's a bit different.
Nolan Posted 3 August, 2015 Posted 3 August, 2015 The green makes commercial sense as it can be worn in 18 of the 19 away match (only clashes with Norwich). The more its worn the more sales it will get.
saint-ross Posted 3 August, 2015 Posted 3 August, 2015 I like it personally. Seems most people just dont like green....
Lallana's Left Peg Posted 3 August, 2015 Posted 3 August, 2015 The green makes commercial sense as it can be worn in 18 of the 19 away match (only clashes with Norwich). The more its worn the more sales it will get. To be fair, I think Watford and Norwich aside, that rings true for a yellow kit too. And I don't know about marketing but is that true - that something worn more gets purchased more? I personally think something nice would be more likely purchased.
Sheaf Saint Posted 3 August, 2015 Posted 3 August, 2015 What were they thinking, the ugliest kit ever! No, it isn't...
Plastic Posted 3 August, 2015 Posted 3 August, 2015 It should be yellow and blue. Yep. Not a fan of the green.
trousers Posted 3 August, 2015 Posted 3 August, 2015 I've got this outlandish theory that some people will like it and some people won't. Bonkers I know.

Yes, it was Yellow( Gold ) and Black for a long time, the colours of the hampshire regiment I think. We did win our one major trophy wearing a variation of yellow and Black, so either of those combos would do me fine. Yellow being the colour we won our one major trophy in seems pretty compelling reason to stick to that colour,to me. as I said, the third kit could be any colour , such as this seasons. That would allow for plenty of variety.
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd Posted 3 August, 2015 Posted 3 August, 2015 I think it's the best away kit we've ever had.
Viking Saint Posted 3 August, 2015 Posted 3 August, 2015 (edited) No, it isn't... Now that is a kit which no one will clash with! Edited 3 August, 2015 by Viking Saint
S-Clarke Posted 3 August, 2015 Posted 3 August, 2015 I don't mind it. Personally, why are we moaning about this? Surely we should be having a good old moan about next years pre-season and the one after that? That's where the hot topic lies right now.
Baird of the land Posted 3 August, 2015 Posted 3 August, 2015 Like the new away kit. Loved our black away kit too. No need for the away kit to be traditional colours in my eyes.
Mattio Posted 3 August, 2015 Posted 3 August, 2015 The green makes commercial sense as it can be worn in 18 of the 19 away match (only clashes with Norwich). The more its worn the more sales it will get. I thought you wore the home kit unless there was a clash?
Saint Garrett Posted 3 August, 2015 Posted 3 August, 2015 It's shocking, nice design but the green is awful. Oh well.
Viking Saint Posted 3 August, 2015 Posted 3 August, 2015 No, it isn't... Can't help but like this kit though I know I shouldn't!
The9 Posted 3 August, 2015 Posted 3 August, 2015 What were they thinking, the ugliest kit ever! Um, why start a thread when there's already a large thread discussing kits, AND not offer any evidence that "others agree"? Personally I love it, it's different, it's unique (albeit the same colours as Swansea's away this season, different style), and it stands out.
angelman Posted 3 August, 2015 Posted 3 August, 2015 Away kit is horrendous, seems others agree......not sure I really care what others think.
The9 Posted 3 August, 2015 Posted 3 August, 2015 I thought you wore the home kit unless there was a clash? You can wear what you like away from home from the up to 3 kits you've registered as long as the Prem Committee agrees there isn't a clash.
Didcot Saint Posted 3 August, 2015 Posted 3 August, 2015 It's ****e. End of. That design in yellow and blue would have been fantastic. Which idiot chose the colour of a drunkards puke for a saints kit?

That would allow for plenty of variety. It was a very amber-gold "yellow", much darker than the yellow we wore fairly regularly after 1976. I really like the colour match with the navy border on the muvi advert as well - though I dislike the white numbers on the back of the shirts, I assume we went with those thanks to the wacky UEFA number contrast rules I posted the other day, because there's really no reason not to have navy numbers on them. Edited 3 August, 2015 by The9
adrian lord Posted 3 August, 2015 Posted 3 August, 2015 Well, Koeman can always blame the kit if we find ourselves several goals down at half-time.
The9 Posted 3 August, 2015 Posted 3 August, 2015 I genuinely don't know where this crappy "can't see it" rubbish is coming from either, no problems at all with the colour, completely different shade of green from the grass. We're also very unlikely to play against a backdrop of green shirts which it could blend into, and seem to have no problem at all wearing mostly red in front of an entire stadium of people wearing pretty much the same thing. Anyone would think the background blurs out compared to nearby teammates or something...
