Lallana's Left Peg Posted 3 August, 2015 Share Posted 3 August, 2015 According to this: http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/football/football-news/coventry-city-digest-last-time-9782674 “I’m doing a little scouting now for Southampton but purely until I have the opportunity to come back into the game at the right club.” Doesn't say whether he is scouting teams or players, or what age group, but thought I'd post it. EDIT: Steven Pressley.
Matthew Le God Posted 3 August, 2015 Share Posted 3 August, 2015 thought I'd post it. Its useful for me, I'll add him to Saints for FM16 unless he gets a new job between now and the data deadline.

Do you work for Sports Interactive MLG? I work in the games industry and just wondered.

jasonb Posted 3 August, 2015 Share Posted 3 August, 2015 I'm an unpaid volunteer for them. Ah right..a lot of that sort of thing goes on. Volunteer QA is still a viable way into the industry. A little exploitative IMO but I guess you are coming at it from an enthusiast rather than career perspective. I don't play FM but judging by your rampant quest for the stats on here I would wager Saints' profile on Football Manager is the most complete of all teams
ericb Posted 3 August, 2015 Share Posted 3 August, 2015 I'm an unpaid volunteer for them. An unpaid volunteer for a multi million pound company!? I knew you were a geek but that's taking this ****!! Why the hell would you subsidise their business?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Why the hell would you subsidise their business?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk FM uses unpaid volunteers on a per club basis to have input on player ratings and accuracy of staff etc. It's clever from them and I am sure MLG doesn't really feel like it is a job - and one that he enjoys. If you play the game then you can see why someone would like doing it.

A little exploitative IMO but I guess you are coming at it from an enthusiast rather than career perspective. The onsite QA team is a paid position. The research work I do for them isn't a career, as you say its as an enthusiast. It has helped me get other paid work in sports research, with companies approaching me due to my work for SI. An unpaid volunteer for a multi million pound company!? I knew you were a geek but that's taking this ****!! Why the hell would you subsidise their business?? Sports Interactive's research team has over 1,300 people working for them, all happy to do so for free. I enjoy it, can't complain at the data as I did it, we get a free copy of the game and other small perks.

I just have no idea why someone would do it for free, it's a company that makes substantial profit and irregardless of what I think of mlg or the game he should at least be paid for his time. Mr Saints Posted 3 August, 2015 Share Posted 3 August, 2015 Good manager, would think he'll be back in charge of a side early into the season.
