Jose Fonte angling for improved deal?

Hmmm, he probably could play for a champ league team, if someone came in for him then wouldn't blame him if he angled for a new deal. I suspect this sounds like either a fall out with old agent though. Or looking for better one to raise his profile/get better sponsership deals

Literally means nothing, what may be fact is that Jose has got a new Agent, for what reason we do not know, and The Sun are purely speculating that he wants an improved deal at the club (which isn't that far fetched) but suggesting he wants a move requires a whole heap of imagination from the simple fact that he may of got a new Agent.

Jose made comments in an interview not so long ago about going to America when his Premier League days were up. I think this change in agent will have that move in mind as there will be big money involved.

I think we can realistically expect a few big-name departures each season (on the assumption we can't break the glass-ceiling that is the top-4) so if we can, we should give Jose a decent renewed contract to keep him with us for another 2-3 years, on the understanding he can move onto the MLS when the time is right. It will add some much needed stability, give us time to prepare his replacement and ensure he knows he can make the move he wants when the time is right.

I may be incredibly naive in saying this as it's based on not a lot, but Jose always strikes me as the sort of guy you could form such an agreement with and have faith it will be honoured and respected.

If i was getting older as a player and it would become harder for me to win top contracts then I would ensure I was represented by the agent who has the most connections and leverage in the game over clubs.

"You want one of my superstar players fine but you are also taking Jose for a 2yr deal" etc etc

Jose is going to go down as a saints legend. I imagine his contract negotiations are done in 5 mins and there's none of the modern day nonsense that seems to go on forever.

I imagine he's got rid of his agent as he's going to retire at saints and there isn't much point in giving someone 15% if your not going anywhere....
