sadoldgit Posted 28 July, 2015 Share Posted 28 July, 2015 I am off to Paris with Mrs SOG for a few days soon. I know where all of the tourist stuff is but have never been shopping there and Mrs SOG loves the shops (inc shabby chic furniture shops). We are staying in St Germain. Any advice please? Ta. eurosaint Posted 28 July, 2015 Share Posted 28 July, 2015 The main shopping streets are Boulevard Hausmann and Rue de Rivoli but these are mainly the bigger stores. If you want the 'arty farty' ssort then best try the latin quarter ! HTH

martin2191 Posted 28 July, 2015 Share Posted 28 July, 2015 i'll second the latin quarter, not that far from where you'll be staying either. makes for a good day in general, plenty of places to eat and drink as well as shop. Make sure you check out Galeries Lafayette and Le Bon Marché then you have the obvious Champs Elysées which has shops from high end designer to high street shops

sebastian firefly Posted 29 July, 2015 Share Posted 29 July, 2015 Cafés around the marais are good also try the montparnasse tower less queues and spectacular views good at night. Much better than going up the eiffel. Good bars in oberkampf.

redkeith Posted 30 July, 2015 Share Posted 30 July, 2015 For a cheap bit of art, try the Musee Rodin. It's being done up at the moment, but for €2 you can go round the garden, which has some amazing statues, including The Thinker. For a few Euros more you can go in to the small exhibit, which has The Kiss on display.
