A very recent problem has arisen. When I use Google to search for something and then hit the Search button, rather than receiving a list of suggested sites I get returned to my browser's homepage. This means I cannot use Google as a search engine.

I am using IE 11 and Windows 8.

I do not have this problem when using Google on the Google Chrome browser and so one solution would be to use GC as my main browser. However, I would prefer to use IE.

Any suggestions how to cure the IE Google search problem?

Many thanks in advance.

Start with an IE reset - Tools>Internet Options>Advanced - Reset

If that fails, Control Panel > Programs and Features and remove IE11 and re-install

Many thanks, saint_stevo, for your helpful response. The problem has now been solved. I'm not sure what I did, but I think it was simply deleting cookies and the browser history.

Thank you also JakkoUK.
