Pass the Dutchie Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 Stekelenburg's got nothing to do so far, after that very early chance for Vitesse.
Sheaf Saint Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 Very impressed with Cedric so far, although tonight is hardly a fair test of his defensive capabilities.
Jonnyboy Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 Anyone see the guy just sat there eating a burger when Pelle was celebrating on the replay....didn't even get off his seat to celebrate just munching away Turkish isn't a man to let his food get cold.
Turkish Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 Anyone see the guy just sat there eating a burger when Pelle was celebrating on the replay....didn't even get off his seat to celebrate just munching away Yes I did, greedy, fat, glutenous c*nt.
SNSUN Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 Manés control is very good. Looks sometimes like he's stumbling over but then retains the ball even under a challenge. Stekelenburgs kicking has been good too.
eddie Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 The game has passed Clasie by so far. Seems way off the pace at the moment. I agree....can't nail down why though....almost looks like he's not very up for it or that it's above his level. strange.
Minty Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 Davis looks very sharp tonight, Cedric excellent going forward, Mane very lively... Pretty pleased with what I've seen so far considering the stage of the season.
pangy Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 Anyone spotted the mystery signing in the stands?.....I hear Ibra said today his next club will be a shock to everyone
Saint86 Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 Davis having a cracking game so far! And penalty!!!
CB Fry Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 I agree....can't nail down why though....almost looks like he's not very up for it or that it's above his level. strange. Some cod-psychoanalysis is definitely what's needed right now. He hates it here, is disruptive in the dressing room and wants out, apparently.
Sheaf Saint Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 Looks like Tadic has been practicing his spot-kicks over the summer break.
Jonnyboy Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 I agree....can't nail down why though....almost looks like he's not very up for it or that it's above his level. strange. He was bladdered down Oceana til 3 in the morning.
max_saints Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 Tadic has been working on his penalties. We're going to walk this league!
Dark Munster Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 Nice sopcast stream: sop://broker.sopcast.com:3912/143459
SNSUN Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 Still not totally convinced by Tadic's penalty taking. I prefer someone smashing them in. I reckon Wanyama packs a punch.
Saintandy666 Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 Solid. Double that in the second half and we should be safely through bar a disaster.
Jonnyboy Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 Yes I did, greedy, fat, glutenous c*nt. Self hatred is a terrible thing.
WealdSaint Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 All good. Cedric looks great. Matty Targett very good. Worried about Classie, hope he picks up in 2nd half
twopintsnilnil Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 Now listening to the BT off-air half time discussion on the stream. "Who's their manager?"
Foxy Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 Looked pretty comfortable really. Well worth our lead. Cedric, Big Vic and Mane all looking good
Pastor Patrón Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 Clasie was at Feyenoord for 15 years, it'll take him a while to adapt. Scheiderlin won't look himself for ages in the United team either. Mane looks f#cking sickening, could be the best players we've had for years
Hamilton Saint Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 I'm impressed with the Vitesse player Smipe. He's all over the pitch. Nice one!
CumbrianSaint Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 Last post out of 3 today and I'm already pretty hammered, I love this ****ing team they work their arses off ****ing love them ****ing love what they accomplish **** we were calling a 4 4 draw with Peterborough a good result or beating oldham 6 0 but **** we are in the Europa league against the highest seeded team and **** I love this team and I love koeman and I love each and everyone of you supporters we did it guys all the doubters were out again tonight but **** em we are the saints and we bow down for no one

Minty Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 Don't worry about Clasie. He's trying a bit too hard, putting himself about a bit too much rather than sitting in at times, then seems to be trying to force things too much when on the ball. He needs to settle - literally - in, and he'll grow into the side no problem. We know he's a good player, I think today he's just a bit hyped up and needs to keep it simple for a bit. And even if he doesn't improve second half, don't get on his back... he arguably has the toughest job, replacing Schneiderlin in arguably the strongest defensive midfield pairing in the league last season. Keep the faith, he'll repay it.
hutch Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the coverage on BT. None of the condescending big 4 bias.
ThreeSixty Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 Genuinely think Mane could go on to be a real world class player.

We all agree. ;-)
Saint Martini Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 Good result so far but the play has been average at best. Until the 1-0 we were sloppy and lost a lot of battles in midfield where Vitesse seemed to outnumber us. Luckily they didn't create anything in the final third. Shares our best player so far and he made the interception that started the attack for the 1-0. If he is defensively half as good as he is offensively then we won't miss Clyne for one second. I agree....can't nail down why though....almost looks like he's not very up for it or that it's above his level. strange. Probably just him not being used to the system. He seems to be confused at times where he should be. Not that strange though, he probably doesn't even know all the names of his teammates. Now lets have a second half with better play and even more goals.

Though I'm still on my first and only beer. (Might have another yet...)
CanadaSaint Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 We might find out a little more about our defence because Vitesse now know they need to score at least one. Cedic hasn't been challenged defensively because Vitesse have tended to focus on the space around Yoshida and Targett. Clasie seems to be searching for his role - trying not to get in anyone's way and ending up doing little as a result. I'm sure he'll be fine.
Convict Colony Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 Think its a bit early to dismss Clasie, have we not learn't from Sadio/Vic/JayRod/Pelle et al ?
