All things Labour Party

I have zero interest in making Internet forum bets with anyone, but it has been very amusing watching you wave a fictional twenty quid about and expecting people to put up a hundred pounds in return.

He will never be PM, and it's clear you agree with me. Take care now.

I don't think anyone thinks he will win the next election or has even said they think he will so you are wasting your time banging on about it.

That's a no then. What's my agenda then?

No chip on my shoulder pal, living in one of the best places in UK and doing a job I love. Just curious that the same old catch phrases get used by half a dozen of the same posters. Wouldn't vote for Corbyn if he was the last person on earth.

So you start off with a critique of something I didn't say, then close it with an answer I didn't give.

You're starting to fit in very well here.

I see that Momentum, Corbyn's mates' cheerleader vehicle, is having its first split. What a surprise. Jon Lansmann, the hard-left founder is being outflanked to his left (!) by entryists who want to see non-Labour party members (the Trotskyists of TUSC, the ironically named Left Unity, the Socialist Workers' Party and assorted Greens) have equal voice in the group.

This is becoming The Life of Jezza: The Movie.

The latest opinion polls make the grimmest reading. At this stage in the last parliament, Labour, under Ed Miliband, was ahead of the Tories by an average (across the polls) of five points. Now they trail them by eight points. A Press Association analysis failed to turn up a worse comparable performance by Labour since the second world war.

For the good of the people Labour needs to protect, Corbyn must go, and go quickly. Either that or he destroys the party. It's as simple as that.

I never used the word "won't" either.

As he said, I've never said I think he will be PM. It's very simple.

Even in the desperately pointless world of Internet forums, your last few posts on this thread have been utterly pathetic.

Let's all have a bet on what shi t you come out with next.

As I've said it's very simple.

The chances aren't great, say about 10%. Hence why I'm not fronting up on a 50:50 bet.

I haven't said he won't be PM or will never be PM.

The intelligent tories (a proven contradiction I know) on here seem 100% certain he won't be PM and will never be PM.

Is that simple enough?

Herbal - you're ITK and all that, so you'll know whether anyone has done any work on the predictive ability of opinion polls done so early in the electoral cycle. My guess: I think you have more chance of stabbing your eye out with a needle you found in the proverbial haystack than trying to find a signal in all that noise.

Is there a website where we can formalise the agreement? I'll stick with £10 from me thanks. Let's not be small-time.

it's very very unlikely that he will be PM, you can only really say never if you have a crystal ball or if you are some sad nobhead trying to start a pointless argument on an Internet forum.

How about upping yours to £1000?

If there isnt a website for this sort of thing there should be. It's probably illegal under this nanny state regime shower we've got at the moment.

As far as I can see the nobheads are those getting themselves into a lather about people using the word "never" on a fu cking football forum and then instigating retarded bets about it.

Corbyn will never be Prime Minister.

Probably never would be correct, unless you can see into the future.

I've posted plenty of gibberish in my time but I've never said that, not even close to it.

I've suggested that Governments aren't necessarily the most efficient wealth redistributors, but even my slightly warped imagination would struggle to map that sentiment to the removal of the tax system altogether.

Anyway, enough of this interweb distortion malarkey.... lets get back to laughing at Labour :)

Fair enough Trousers. Inefficiency and politicians go hand in hand but at least we elect them and Capita et al don't have the best record themselves. Would like to see well run voluntary sector organisations getting more of a role. A book you might enjoy on government bloopers is Ivor Crewe's The Mistakes of our Governments. No surprises that the NHS IT system features....

Anyway, happy to join in on some more Corbyn bashing and that of his fellow muppets. Stupid old Trot. More chance of Pompey getting a non criminal sugar daddy and building the 40k super potty than Corbyn ever winning power - and neither will ever happen but two sets of deluded followers

Weird that Coral and William Hill gives odds of 11/2 on something that is impossible. It's almost as if they understand that political landscapes can change or something crazy like that.

Fascinating. Corbyn will never be Prime Minister.

Corbyn has a - 39 approval rating his is he going to beat Cameron on a - 6 rating?

Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

This is from the latest YouGov poll.

https://yougov.co.uk/news/2016/01/19/corbyn-rating-fall/

Given that YouGov was one of the polling organisations that consistently over-played Labour's lead in the run-up to the general election, it might actually be worse that -39, if that's even imaginable.

Hilariously, Labour's official post-mortem review into last year's election result concluded that Labour lost because Ed Miliband wasn't considered sufficiently 'Prime Ministerial' or being of Prime Ministerial calibre. So what was the party's answer (bearing in mind Margaret Beckett is one of the authors)? Let's select an old Trotskyite relic from the Cold War era who genuinely thinks we can negotiate with ISIL. I can't stand some of the tabloids but Corbyn is so obvious he might as well have a target painted on his back.

You couldn't make it up. Of course, when this all backfires it won't be the Old Left's fault, it'll be some conspiracy to bring them down.

If I was a Labour MP (dreadful thought), I think I would actually defect for the sake of my constituents. Ok, they might not have voted Lib Dem or Tory, but I can't imagine many wards other than the die hards would have voted for Corbyn.

More evidence of the "new politics" at the top of the Corbynist tree...

Neale Coleman, Corbyn's "head of policy and rebuttal" (!) has resigned after losing some infinitesimally irrelevant "battle" with the Stalin-enthusiast and "director of strategy" Seumas Milne.

Simon Fletcher, Corbyn's "chief of staff", is reportedly on the brink of leaving because John McDonnell has been plotting against him (and, by extension, against Corbyn himself)

And the aforementioned Stalin apologist Milne has been so wrapped up in "struggles" against his own staff colleagues that he apparently hasn't even met all of his press team.

All of which may go some way to explaining why Corbyn has been so spectacularly useless in holding the government to account. In the week of the junior doctors' strike, he didn't even raise the issue during PMQs, and this week, in the face of the virtual extinction of steelmaking in the UK, not a mention at PMQs.

Even Corbyn's natural supporters at The New Statesman see a growing pattern of ineptitude:

http://www.newstatesman.com/politics/uk/2016/01/pmqs-review-david-camerons-bombardment-jeremy-corbyn-leaves-labour-grim

The thing about the "Tory-lite" opposition pre-Corbyn was that it was, at least, an opposition. The Labour party now is reduced to a squabbling wreck, in which most of the squabbling is being done within the Corbynist camp.

bizarre human being, old jezza

Just one of the many reasons he will never be Prime Minister. He would get smashed to pieces if this was in an election campaign.

1,513 vs 3 voted to stay as is in 2013. But fu ck them Jeremy. Fu ck them.
