I heard it live, giggled and thought no more of it, now someone thinks that it is a big deal ! It's a sad old world if people take offence this easily IMHO ! sadoldgit Posted 21 July, 2015 Share Posted 21 July, 2015 Well out of order. She was probably aiming for a new set of wheels.

Shroppie Posted 21 July, 2015 Share Posted 21 July, 2015 Peter Allis is still a breath of fresh air compared with the bog standard Sky commentator. Yes, he may come out with the occasional faux pas, but his insight and background comments make him, IMO, far more interesting. What's wrong with the occasional jokey comment? It's only the sort of things spectators ate saying to each other, after all. Suspect he may now retire and, as with Murray Walker, I'll be sad to see him go. Golf commentary will never be the same again. Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk

No way, she should stay in the kitchen and have dinner on the table when he gets in after a hard day on the golf course.
Colinjb Posted 21 July, 2015 Share Posted 21 July, 2015 Sounds like it's just being used as an excuse to castigate him for previous thoughts on women in Golf, that comment in itself is daft but clearly not meant to be serious.

Ohio Saint Posted 21 July, 2015 Share Posted 21 July, 2015 Pah, sexist? Now, if he had said She probably want's a new kitchen, but what she really needs is a treadmill......
Lord Duckhunter Posted 22 July, 2015 Share Posted 22 July, 2015 (edited) Peter Allis is an utter helmet and should have retired years ago .Years ago he used to turn up at Ferndown Golf Club occasionally and was the type of bloke who gives golf clubs a bad name . You only have to see how Sky have transformed football punditry and they'll do the same for golf . Blowers is the same on TMS , contrast him with Shane Warne and Michael Holding on sky . The only decent old fossil left in the commentary box is Sir Geoffrey . Allis is just embarrassing . He's exactly how you come across on here, grizzling about anyone daring to celebrate the England women's team doing well, droning on about "we fought a war for you youngsters" even though your generation didn't, and lest we forget the hilarity of your EUSSR routine. Country club bore to the bone.
