Colinjb Posted 4 August, 2015 Posted 4 August, 2015 Not sure, think it was locked last week for some reason, no idea why, it was quite helpful. Probably to help them stay under the radar.
Saint Charlie Posted 4 August, 2015 Posted 4 August, 2015 BBC Reporter: @BBCchrismclaug: Ronny Deila says Celtic haven't received a bid for Virgil Van Dijk from Southampton. Says they're not interested in selling.
Batman Posted 4 August, 2015 Posted 4 August, 2015 BBC Reporter: @BBCchrismclaug: Ronny Deila says Celtic haven't received a bid for Virgil Van Dijk from Southampton. I'd be amazed if something has not been proposed, talked about etc if celtic go out of europe (tomorrow is it?) i suspect VvD would have left by the weekend
Window Cleaner Posted 4 August, 2015 Posted 4 August, 2015 usual stuff. I'd be amazed if something has not been proposed, talked about etc if celtic go out of europe (tomorrow is it?) i suspect VvD would have left by the weekend Celtic play this tomorrow I think yes, don't see why they should lose.

Saint Charlie Posted 4 August, 2015 Posted 4 August, 2015 So basically, £7m isn't enough, offer a bit more and after we've sorted this game then he is yours. Agree. Apparently VVD "really wants to play in the CL with Celtic", despite quotes from him earlier this summer that he wants to leave. Usual posturing. When you see prices of the likes of Chester and Brady, £10m for Van Dijk would appear decent value.
Lallana's Left Peg Posted 4 August, 2015 Posted 4 August, 2015 Celtic will sell to the highest bidder. Their business plan is to buy and develop talent, sell, and save the money for when Rangers are back in the Premier League. And then when Rangers are back spend enough of them money each season to ensure they remain on top. He will go at some point, but how much for depends on Celtic's Champions League status and how many teams bid.
scotty Posted 4 August, 2015 Posted 4 August, 2015 Both trustworthy, not sure there is a "more ITK". Not sure, think it was locked last week for some reason, no idea why, it was quite helpful. iirc, chalet locked it from the start.
saint lard Posted 4 August, 2015 Posted 4 August, 2015 Don't be surprised to see Vigil Van Dijk holding a saints shirt up high. Very soon. Celtic in Champions league...or not. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
InvictaSaint Posted 4 August, 2015 Posted 4 August, 2015 Don't be surprised to see Vigil Van Dijk holding a saints shirt up high. Very soon. Celtic in Champions league...or not. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Gut feeling or ITK? Or a bit of both?....
St Chalet Posted 4 August, 2015 Posted 4 August, 2015 iirc, chalet locked it from the start. It has dropped down as nothing much added. I'll update it and stick it when I get a chance.
Saint Charlie Posted 5 August, 2015 Posted 5 August, 2015 Koeman in today's presser: "There is lots of interest in the player. Lets see what happens."
Roger Posted 5 August, 2015 Posted 5 August, 2015 Koeman in today's presser: "There is lots of interest in the player. Lets see what happens." Sounds positive mate doesn't it?
Saint-Armstrong Posted 5 August, 2015 Posted 5 August, 2015 Koeman: "It's a lot in the media today about the player and I think it's the best in my position to say nothing about that, because everybody knows it's a good player, it's a lot of interest for the player. Let's see what happens."
Saint Charlie Posted 5 August, 2015 Posted 5 August, 2015 Sounds positive mate doesn't it? It does mate.
the saint in winchester Posted 5 August, 2015 Posted 5 August, 2015 I'm confident a bid around £10M will secure the player. I understand his head is already in Southampton .... even if his body is currently in Baku.
Saint Charlie Posted 5 August, 2015 Posted 5 August, 2015 Hard to know what we want tonight: Celtic win good for our seeding chances Celtic loss good in the chase for Van Dijk
DT Posted 5 August, 2015 Posted 5 August, 2015 Sounds positive mate doesn't it? Or that there are lots of suitors...
Lallana's Left Peg Posted 5 August, 2015 Posted 5 August, 2015 VVD starts for Celtic - game kicks off in 10mins and is shown on BT Sport Europe.
ericofarabia Posted 5 August, 2015 Posted 5 August, 2015 Hard to know what we want tonight: Celtic win good for our seeding chances Celtic loss good in the chase for Van Dijk If the tie is equal at 89 mins and he suddenly scores a 30 yard og my guess is that he wants out!!
Redslo Posted 5 August, 2015 Posted 5 August, 2015 I'm still not convinced. They may be bigger than us as a club, in so far as stadium size and fan base, but infrastructure and current standing makes us a far more attractive and sensible option. Also, we have a wage and finacial structure that is sustainable and we have shown that we will not break that. For these reasons, I am not concerned. Throwing money at players in a desperate attempt to get their signature on a contract just smacks of desperation. I would wonder how close to the FFP limit Sunderland actually are. Not very. Since they are not in Europe, they are allowed to lose 35 million pounds a year on average. Their total wages for 2013-2014 was 70 million pounds, but the wage cap for that year was 52 million pounds. Presumably at least 18 million was not for players so they are ok there as well. The only real limit them face is that they cannot increase their wages year over year by more than 4 million or by their increase in non-TV income, which ever is greater.
Pass the Dutchie Posted 5 August, 2015 Posted 5 August, 2015 Ha, BT Sport saying Celtic should ask at least £20m for Van Dijk.
BARCELONASAINT Posted 5 August, 2015 Posted 5 August, 2015 ummmm, Celtic scrape through, guess thats no VVD for at least
saint-crinny Posted 6 August, 2015 Posted 6 August, 2015 Two clean sheets in the two legs of a Champions League tie, not too bad considering how "awful" he was in the league opener...
Nolan Posted 6 August, 2015 Posted 6 August, 2015 Two clean sheets in the two legs of a Champions League tie, not too bad considering how "awful" he was in the league opener... What is the general standard of Azerbaijani football.? Qarabag won 1, drew 3 in the Europa group stages last year.
saint-crinny Posted 6 August, 2015 Posted 6 August, 2015 What is the general standard of Azerbaijani football.? Qarabag won 1, drew 3 in the Europa group stages last year. Sure, although those stats on their Europa performance last year would suggest they are a lot better than what VVD would face in the SPL each week. Was more making the point that people were sounding the alarm after a supposed dodgy performance in the SPL - that doesn't make him useless, just as two clean sheets in the CL doesn't mean he's an absolute world beater either. If we have made him our top priority, i'd assume that was based on extensive research into the player and a decision based on that research in the belief that he is the right man for us, not one/two games that a few Saints fans have tuned into because of our reported interest.
SuperSAINT Posted 6 August, 2015 Posted 6 August, 2015 http://celtsarehere.com/twitter-watch-virgil-van-dijk-starts-following-southampton-players/?
diggs Posted 6 August, 2015 Posted 6 August, 2015 Van Dijk has now started following Pelle and Wanyama on Twitter also the official premiership page read in to that what you will.
Pancake Posted 6 August, 2015 Posted 6 August, 2015 Van Dijk has now started following Pelle and Wanyama on Twitter also the official premiership page read in to that what you will. Good enough for me. Sticky.
lloydie Posted 6 August, 2015 Posted 6 August, 2015 Have we ever had a player called Virgil? I will blindly say no to this one.
Saint Rees Posted 6 August, 2015 Posted 6 August, 2015 He seems to be quite strange on twitter, no tweets but favourites lots of tweets about other dutch players - us signing Clasie for example. Could mean nothing but hopefully it means he's on his way!
Jez Posted 6 August, 2015 Posted 6 August, 2015 Van Dijk has now started following Pelle and Wanyama on Twitter also the official premiership page read in to that what you will. Scottish premiership yeah? Or did you mean the English Premier League?
Saint_Ash Posted 6 August, 2015 Posted 6 August, 2015 Scottish premiership yeah? Or did you mean the English Premier League? Isn't it the Premiership League?
revolution saint Posted 6 August, 2015 Posted 6 August, 2015 Or Tracy? Virgil Hilts, the 'Cooler King', is the best Virgil ever.

Whitey Grandad Posted 6 August, 2015 Posted 6 August, 2015 (edited) The Roman poet was also pretty cool. We studied the Aeneid for my O-level when I was at school. That's over 50 years ago now Virgil (Gus) Grissom He should be good at finding space on the pitch. Edited 6 August, 2015 by Whitey Grandad
jawillwill Posted 6 August, 2015 Posted 6 August, 2015 He also follows Bill Styles who is apparently a 1st team sports scientist at Saints.
saint-ross Posted 6 August, 2015 Posted 6 August, 2015 This guy could add a bit of bite to our defence....
Matthew Le God Posted 6 August, 2015 Posted 6 August, 2015 He also follows Bill Styles who is apparently a 1st team sports scientist at Saints. He is, but he also used to work for Celtic.
There when Franny scored Posted 6 August, 2015 Posted 6 August, 2015 Strangely also follows Tim Sparv. Got to be some conspiracy in there.
georgeweahscousin Posted 6 August, 2015 Posted 6 August, 2015 Strangely also follows Tim Sparv. Got to be some conspiracy in there. Teammates at Groningen.
Beckenham Saint Posted 6 August, 2015 Posted 6 August, 2015 He also follows Soccer AM and Chris Kamara so maybe he's hoping to get a job at Sky?
