saint97 Posted 14 July, 2015 Posted 14 July, 2015 Is it just me or are trains ridiculously priced on this day? Over £100 with a railcard.
stevegrant Posted 14 July, 2015 Posted 14 July, 2015 Always the case this close to the game. Could have probably got £60-70 or so on fixture release day.
the saint in winchester Posted 15 July, 2015 Posted 15 July, 2015 Fly up Friday, fly back Monday for £115 with Flybe. Make a weekend of it. You can stay with a mate of mine. He hates football and he barely drinks. Not sure what we have in common really.
saint97 Posted 16 July, 2015 Author Posted 16 July, 2015 Have you tried split ticketing?? Yeah, around £95. Flights I've looked at are about £140.
suewhistle Posted 22 July, 2015 Posted 22 July, 2015 I'm visiting North and staying with a friend in the Dales, doing a bit of fishing and getting the train in. Any recommended real ale pubs near the station? I suppose I ought to have some food as well...
stockportsaint Posted 23 July, 2015 Posted 23 July, 2015 Try the Forth Hotel on Pink Lane. It's a back alley that takes you from the station up towards the ground. Not been I there for a couple of years, but previously it was a really good studenty style real ale bar, and I think they did food. It's current description is real ale gastropub.
suewhistle Posted 23 July, 2015 Posted 23 July, 2015 Ta. The Bodega looks promising too. Maybe I'll have a couple EW and get a later train back to my friend!
