lordswoodsaints Posted 2 January, 2009 Posted 2 January, 2009 when i spoke to JP and wotte a few weeks ago, just after stern was shipped out,the question was asked if he was aware that stern was leaving his reply was - 'so far we have not been surprised by any decisions and we are fully aware of everything that is happening before it happens.' just wondering if this is still the case? he seemed confident that cork would be staying and he did state that we have an option to keep all of the loan players if needed until the end of the season. will their be anymore surprises in store for jp?

ALWAYS_SFC Posted 2 January, 2009 Posted 2 January, 2009 Hope they surprise him with the sack and follow him out of the door.
Scummer Posted 2 January, 2009 Posted 2 January, 2009 If he resigns, we'll know. I wouldn't resign if I was him. He'll never get another job as big as this one, no matter how crappy it is at the minute. I'd be in no hurry to go back to managing in front of 300 fans in Holland.

Jan's on a mint compaired to what he had at Helmond.

Big_Bald_Si Posted 2 January, 2009 Posted 2 January, 2009 So, we have another Burley situation - underachieving manager who nonetheless is comfy because he knows we cannot afford to sack him. Sweet... As I recall - did they not give him a one year rolling contract just like burley? So if they do give him the chop, they have to pay him a years salary - its not going to happen. Although, maybe Mr Lowe could ask Jan to pay his own compensation again......

NickG Posted 2 January, 2009 Posted 2 January, 2009 So, we have another Burley situation - underachieving manager who nonetheless is comfy because he knows we cannot afford to sack him. Sweet... of course, anyone would be better than GB, where were we when he left?

Certainly not made aware very long before it happens - the day before Stern was first loaned out JP announced that he would be the penalty taker for the rest of the season!
Mole Posted 2 January, 2009 Posted 2 January, 2009 of course, anyone would be better than GB, where were we when he left? Heading for League 1 oblivion.... a bit like we are now.
The Farmer Posted 2 January, 2009 Posted 2 January, 2009 Am I right in thinking if he resigns he loses any compensation package for being dismissed. He won't resign.

Sweet... scotland did us a favour by taking burley, perhaps the dutch national team will snap him up.:-)
Legod Third Coming Posted 2 January, 2009 Posted 2 January, 2009 Relegation would not necessarily be the end. Allerdyce and Bolton. Curbishley and Charlton. Coppel and Reading. Lawrie and Saints. I'm sure there are plenty of others. Not that I am advocating relegation or JP. Just an observation.
