vivasadio Posted 14 July, 2015 Share Posted 14 July, 2015 My bad. Still think we would be looking at a more attacking player anyway, as good as Krychowiak is.
Dig Dig Posted 14 July, 2015 Share Posted 14 July, 2015 My money is on Grzegorz Krychowiak, for what little it's worth. He'd cost 2 shlongs by himself.

Saint_Abroad Posted 14 July, 2015 Share Posted 14 July, 2015 Are Shlongs pegged to anything? I'm afraid they'll start getting shorted with this whole greek business. Just trying to look out for SW, don't want Alps having to negotiate a bail out deal.
Matthew Le God Posted 14 July, 2015 Share Posted 14 July, 2015 (edited) He'd cost 2 shlongs by himself. I don't think he wants to come, if the press are to be believed. Edited 14 July, 2015 by Matthew Le God
Dig Dig Posted 14 July, 2015 Share Posted 14 July, 2015 His release clause is reported to be £15.5m. My mistake, 1.2 shlongs which is doable.
JakkoUK Posted 14 July, 2015 Share Posted 14 July, 2015 2 $hlongs for the 2 players combined, not just the CB I believe Right.. that makes much more sense! 24 mill on one player would have been pushing the boat out massively!
Saint_Ash Posted 14 July, 2015 Share Posted 14 July, 2015 Krychowiak's release clause is around £15m and Van Dijk is rumoured to be around £9m. Wishful thinking? I don't expect us to spend more than we receive from clyne/morgan sales which is c.£37m or 3 $hlongs. How much did we spend on first 2 signings? 8m in total? Plus 8m for clasie leaves about 20m left for the 2 signings, 10m on van dyke then another midfielder for a similar figure. No idea who that can be, he's going to be the surprise one that no one thought about.
saint si Posted 14 July, 2015 Share Posted 14 July, 2015 His release clause is reported to be £15.5m. But surely if we bid more than the release clause then we'll outbid the competition for him? That's how it works, isn't it?
Matthew Le God Posted 14 July, 2015 Share Posted 14 July, 2015 But surely if we bid more than the release clause then we'll outbid the competition for him? That's how it works, isn't it? No, there is no need for anyone to bid higher than the release clause. If you match the release clause it is automatically accpeted and is then down to the player to decide if he wants to leave. This is a concept Pompey fans struggled with when Jed Wallace was sold.

van Hanegem Posted 14 July, 2015 Share Posted 14 July, 2015 (FWIW, look up - it comes from that original tweet. Confirmed by Martijn Krabbendam in Voetbal International) Krabbendam is not a reliable source, he's a Feyenoord watcher for "Voetbal International" but Feyenoord refuses to speak with him... He usually makes assumptions which can be made by anyone else.

SNSUN Posted 14 July, 2015 Share Posted 14 July, 2015 Still think he's too short, you get much more for your money with a Peter Crouch or a Lacina Traore! Seriously will be well pleased with Clasie. The Dutch Xavi, you must have something about you to be called that. The team is getting there. We need the obvious centre back recruit, hopefully Van Dijk, and maybe one more midfield recruit. After that any player we bring in is a squad bonus, like another keeper, another winger or another striker.
