Calum Chambers rejects loan return

I'd happily take him back if it was in a Loan with a guaranteed right to buy at the end of the year.

However i've no interest in Saints rounding off the rough edges of an Arsenal youngster if its not a case of us doing so with a view to him being our player again at the end of the loan period.

I agree with Botl

Why do people keep saying he's good at CB? He's clearly not good enough as a CB (yet anyway) he rarely plays there for arsenal and has looked shaky most games I have seen him. He's more of a defensive midfielder who can play fullback than a CB. Potentially can be worth the 16 mil arsenal paid for him but Bellerin looks a lot better than he ever did at RB so I can't see him playing much at all wouldn't be surprised to see him loaned out and hopefully not to us unless we are buying him at the end of it as screw developing players for other clubs we do that already but for serious cash ;)

And what would you want to pay for him? Are Arsenal going to want to take a hit on 16 million pounds? If he plays here on loan and has a storming season what then? We're going to give them back that money plus a little more?

No thanks.

He can go elsewhere on loan if he wants. Plenty of clubs might find a use for him.

Or he can stay low on Arene's pecking order for another year or so and be sold at a cut-price to wherever Harry ends up next.

Calum is not the sharpest knife in the draw. His career has gone backwards since his move and if Evans signs for Arsenal he will get even less playing time. If this story is true a loan move back to us may have set him back on track. As things are he will probably be off to a mid table side in a year or two.

Would benefit him more than it would benefit us.

He would be able to continue his progression after having stalled a bit with Arsenal last season. On the other hand, there is no chance of us landing him permanently at the end of the season, so we would just be helping Arsenal develop their player.

He decided to make the move early, and whether he now realises it was 1-2 seasons too early, it is none of our business. No deal.

Better remember this one when he signs for us again after we finish mid table in a few years!
