Thanks for that transcript Redslo

You're welcome. Interestingly, it generated the second most active day of page hits on my blog ever. It was only beat by 4 August 2014 which had six times as many hits. I guess people let to read Les Reed transcripts (or other reassuring words) in the midst of meltdowns.

I have now listened to the interview a couple of times and the TA explanation does not hang together and it still appears that it has been a major f up - but lets move on

What bit about two clubs had a bid in with one club for one of their players and that player chose one club over the other are you struggling with pal?

It only took me one listen to get it, but we all learn at different speeds, don't we.

Really? seems pretty straight forward to me Toby wanted out of Madrid and was prepared to come to us to do that. He found out a better offer was available but strung us along as his back up plan until he knew he was sorted at spurs.

I am surprised no-one has commented on the comments made by Les on Gaston. Nothing that hasn't been aired on this SW "forum if highest intellect" but interesting to see that Les specifically talked about him as apposed to, say, JWP (who didn't blossom last season as many hoped).

Either he had fingers on both hands firmly crossed behind his back as a last ditch "hope we don't have to add his name to the wasted money list" or he genuinely believes something may be about to change.

He talked about Ramirez because he was asked a question that was directly about Ramirez. He wasn't asked a question about Ward-Prowse, so he didn't talk about Ward-Prowse.

Last summer many bed clothes were soiled at this point and those of us with more bladder control were saying wait until the transfer window closes before you bring out the plastic sheets. Just a thought. Why not try that this summer too? There is absolutely no point in bursting a blood vessel until we know what our squad comprises of.

Now there you go .....coming up with sane and sensible suggestions again....you don't really expect them to listen do you ?

During the season they complain about players who are bad, and in the close season about so-called " good players " who we didn't sign....daft isn't it ?

Still pretty convinced Ramirez can do a job in this league, too often players come to England and don't settle straight away so are sent packing.

I listened to it four times, but then I was transcribing it.

I do not understand how someone can claim that the TA explanation does not hang together. LostBoys may not want to believe it, but it hangs together just fine.

He also may be more optimistic about Ramirez this summer.

So then. Les and Ralph were both vilified by the bed wetting fraternity last summer during the "meltdown." They had to bite their tongues when the football started because they had done their jobs well and the results were good. Now it seems that they are crap again because a player we didn't own decided he wanted to go to Spuds and not us and that another player, with a year left on his contact, didn't want to sign a new one and preferred to sign for a bigger club. Really, what is the problem?

they've played too much " Fantasy Football " on their PC's and think everyone mentioned in the media simply HAS to sign for us..or we have somehow " failed ".

Jose must be freakin' superhuman after carrying that lot. Spurs are about to find out (as did Liverpool) that they signed the wrong guy.

EXACTLY my thoughts, the success of Lovren and Alderweireld wasn't just their own but their partnership with Jose .....

Historical note:

Regardless of his "personal issues", Claus Lundekvam clocked-up 400 games, was rarely MOM, but partnered some of the best CB's we've had in the last 30 years.

Do you think the litigious nature of your threat against Atletico a by-product of the Cortese era except the current management are less ruthless at carrying out such threats? Also, do you think this idol threat cemented Atletico dealing with the parasitic Tottenham/Levy over Southampton, therefore the plan back firing?

I feel Spurs were favoured due to upfront fees & less faffing around combined with Toby's desire to earn a larger wage.

I think the litigation threat was a way of forcing Atletico deal with us when we were under the mistaken impression that Toby wanted to play for us rather than Spurs.
