Matthew Le God Posted 20 July, 2015 Posted 20 July, 2015 An uneventful video of the players arriving for training today...
Matthew Le God Posted 20 July, 2015 Posted 20 July, 2015 (edited) The ballboys are still looking for the ball Pelle kicked at the end of this video from training today... Edited 20 July, 2015 by Matthew Le God
Saint Martini Posted 20 July, 2015 Posted 20 July, 2015 Haha. Jan van Halst, a analyst at FOX sports is standing behind the goal (naked guy in the suit). I guess he'll be the expert commentator in our matches against Vitesse.

darren2 Posted 21 July, 2015 Posted 21 July, 2015 Apologies if this is already posted, but is there a way of following the game tonight and Thursday?
trousers Posted 21 July, 2015 Posted 21 July, 2015 Apologies if this is already posted, but is there a way of following the game tonight and Thursday? One of the Saints media team dropped a hint on twitter yesterday that there will be a live broadcast of tonight's game on the Saints YouTube channel. No official announcements yet though AFAIK. Haven't heard anything about the Feyernoord game on Thursday but given the high profile nature of the game (Koeman back in town and Clasie saying his goodbyes) I'd be surprised it wasn't being widely covered by Dutch media.

Fox Sport Holland was advertising Thursdays feyenoord game after the Groningen match, so the same methods as Saturday should be possible. Sent from my HTC Desire 310 using Tapatalk
buctootim Posted 21 July, 2015 Posted 21 July, 2015 Are those red cones laid out to crock unwary goalkeepers.

Saint_Ash Posted 21 July, 2015 Posted 21 July, 2015 Going to be a tough one! K. Voetbal Vereniging Quick 1920, known as Quick '20 is a football club from Oldenzaal, the Netherlands. The club was founded in 1920 and is currently playing in the Hoofdklasse, the second highest tier of amateur football in the Netherlands and the fourth tier in general

Right, where's Jonno.......? He would be all over this!!
SaffaSaint Posted 21 July, 2015 Posted 21 July, 2015 Seems strange to play a bunch of amateurs in the middle of Gronigen and Fayernoord. Don't we normally start with amatuer teams and face progressively stronger oppositioin

Don't we normally start with amatuer teams and face progressively stronger oppositioin This will be a game for the U21/fringe players I imagine. Then first team out for a normal 90 min run-out against Feyenoord, before Vitesse.
Saint Charlie Posted 21 July, 2015 Author Posted 21 July, 2015 Good chance to play Jay Rod up front I think, with Isgrove and McQueen wide.
Griffo Posted 21 July, 2015 Posted 21 July, 2015 Anyone got any idea how many tickets we've sold for Feyenoord? Off out there tomorrow.
SCF08 Posted 21 July, 2015 Posted 21 July, 2015 Clasie didn't want to leave yesterday...the bike's had a Ajax sign on it .. staff had to remove it

Hmm, our new keeper seems to be getting quite a lot of rest.... No Yoshida or Fonte in the squad either.... Edited 21 July, 2015 by trousers
Matthew Le God Posted 21 July, 2015 Posted 21 July, 2015 Our new keeper is getting quite a lot of rest.... He shouldn't really be troubled much by a 4th tier Dutch ameteur side. Saints have a game in 2 days vs Feyenoord for him to play in, where we'll probably be close to our first choice XI.

Saints have a game in 2 days vs Feyenoord for him to play in, where we'll probably be close to our first choice XI. Indeed. I'm just mildly surprised he isn't being given maximum opportunity to forge as much 'match-play' rapport with the defence as possible. Just an observation.
Saint Charlie Posted 21 July, 2015 Author Posted 21 July, 2015 Gallagher hasn't travelled to Holland by the look of it so is well out the picture. Gardos must be injured hence being careful with Fonte and Yoshida. Need them fit for Vitesse assuming no new CB by then.

That's a much stronger team than I'd expected, I thought we'd be giving more first teamers a rest with Thursday in mind. Guess lots of easy 45 min run outs.

mcbendy Posted 21 July, 2015 Posted 21 July, 2015 How much can we read into the order in the tweet? Is there a suggestions of JWP and Reed as DM with Clasie playing further forward...?
stevegrant Posted 21 July, 2015 Posted 21 July, 2015 Indeed. I'm just mildly surprised he isn't being given maximum opportunity to forge as much 'match-play' rapport with the defence as possible. Just an observation. Cedric's the only one of the four named who's likely to be playing regularly, I'd have thought. Personally I'd like Gazzaniga to be given as much pre-season game time as possible just to ensure he's up to speed. U21 games throughout the season aren't going to keep him sharp if required.

shurlock Posted 21 July, 2015 Posted 21 July, 2015 Was it confirmed why Ramirez missed the last game (and this one)?

mcbendy Posted 21 July, 2015 Posted 21 July, 2015 Gaston, Gardos and Gallagher all absent. Something against G's?
Window Cleaner Posted 21 July, 2015 Posted 21 July, 2015 How much can we read into the order in the tweet? Is there a suggestions of JWP and Reed as DM with Clasie playing further forward...? It doesn't matter, we're playing a pub side anyway. Kaleidoscope formation.
Matthew Le God Posted 21 July, 2015 Posted 21 July, 2015 How much can we read into the order in the tweet? Is there a suggestions of JWP and Reed as DM with Clasie playing further forward...? Saints media team on commentary say its Ward-Prowse, S.Davis, Rodriguez as the three behind Pelle in a 4-2-3-1.
