saints-cris Posted 3 July, 2015 Share Posted 3 July, 2015 Games I was at: Lambert v Millwall - absolute scenes when that went in. Sharp v Pompey - kind of ruined by the horror a few minutes later, but mental none the less.. De ridder v Reading - dont really know what it was about this one, down to ten maybe, but that away end was madness. Games I wasn't at: Fonte v Brighton Davis v Man City Tadic v Utd Rasiak v Derby
kwsaint Posted 3 July, 2015 Share Posted 3 July, 2015 Most of the goals I can think of have already been mentioned. For games I was at: Kamara v Norwich in 2005. Noise was deafening. Billy Sharp's second v Skates in 2012. Tadic at Old Trafford last season was pretty good. For games I wasn't at, I can't remember anyone mentioning the second goal v Watford in the cup semi in 2003
The9 Posted 4 July, 2015 Share Posted 4 July, 2015 For games I wasn't at, I can't remember anyone mentioning the second goal v Watford in the cup semi in 2003 I had the pleasure of being in with the Watford fans for that (seeing as 3 of them are relatives of mine), didn't seem all that loud from where I was, but at least I inherited an inflatable FA Cup after the match which I took to the Final. Camara's goal was probably the loudest noise I've ever heard Saints fans make, the last 10 minutes of that match were pandemonium all around the ground. Golden Balls Posted 4 July, 2015 Share Posted 4 July, 2015 Camara's goal was probably the loudest noise I've ever heard Saints fans make, the last 10 minutes of that match were pandemonium all around the ground. I was literally about to write the same thing. The spontaneous raw just before the goal followed by an absolute daisy cutter. That's not just the loudest cheer I've ever heard at St Mary's. It's the loudest noise I've ever heard inside any football ground in 26 years of going home and away. Special mention for Beatties cupped ear goal against the skates. Polaroid Saint Posted 4 July, 2015 Share Posted 4 July, 2015 Same! Celebrated so much I broke my sofa / This ^ Perhaps a thread just for those sofa breaking moments? For us it was the third scrappy goal against Cov to send us up. Being a true Saint I wasn't confident until we were three nil up against a really poor side. Jumped up and down on the three seater. Like you do. Hugs alround. Sat back down. Two minutes later the sofa collapsed in half with us on it. We have never replaced it; Just threw it away and decided to go out more and not sit around on sofas. So a life changing moment really as we are happier and healthier (?dunno; more nights out!) than ever before.
RedAndWhite91 Posted 5 July, 2015 Share Posted 5 July, 2015 Lambert at Fratton Park, only my second ever derby game, absolutely loved it when that went in. After the 89th minute equaliser at Old Trafford in 2013, the goal celebration felt like it lasted forever, it was almost surreal. Was a good one because you knew if we held on for the draw all the plastic glory United 'fans' back at home in Hampshire that for years gave you stick for supporting a "sh!t team" were gonna be miffed. So for me, that one was enjoyable. Maybe the best for me would be Fonte away at Brighton. When that ball went in it was carnage. I went from the back row of that temporary stand to the front in an instant, tumbling down steps and over chairs, cutting my leg in the process. Ended up on my arse on the running track with Fonte et al celebrating a few yards away. Brilliant that was.
saintsforlife7 Posted 5 July, 2015 Share Posted 5 July, 2015 Rasiak vs Derby by a mile for me, not sure why either as there have been some much bigger goals but the whole evening was such a roller coaster that it made it that much more incredible when it went in so late. Still get goosebumps seeing the away end a blur of yellow from the Sky cameras when it's played back!
saint_jas Posted 5 July, 2015 Share Posted 5 July, 2015 Rasiak away at Derby almost got me sacked next morning... Billy Sharp at Boro in about 30 seconds, went bananas in away end... As someone else has said Davis at City, couldn't believe what was happening (Fox grrr)
